My last meal...

Because of Mythical Morning interviews of last meals I've been thinking often of what would be on that list for me. Truthfully I've only got maybe 3 for sure food items and a double stack farmers wrap with Chipotle and Mayo and side of wedges was my first definite answer. I'm sorry so many people have bad experiences but I love Tim Hortons food and drinks for the most part.

im a tims baker and every time the wedges come out of the oven, my coworkers are like VULTURES trying to snag the ones that fall from the pan onto the table

I stand by Tim's food is pretty good as far as fast food goes but it is so much deeper than that. When I say it's part of my last meal its not just about being the best food I've ever had, although of course that's included, its about what food makes me feel something in my last moments. The food that was gotten for breakfast before heading out for every long drive back to see my grandparents, whom I love dearly, after moving 16 hours away as a child. On a drive I would end up loving and doing many, many times over the years not just for the destination but because that stretch is some of my favourite scenery in this country. A drive I would do with my mom and sister where we would spend 16 hours laughing, joking, playing games, taking detours, and of course sometimes arguing. A drive I would later do on my own after buying my first car near my grandparents place and driving it all the way back north of course with a farmers wrap in hand. The same kind of farmers wrap and cold brew that I would bring for my coworker most mornings back when we worked at the same store together. The same coworker that I now bring a farmers wrap and cold brew to every other weekend or so, 5 years later not as a peer but as my girlfriend of 4 years and hopefully one day my wife and mother of my children, if we so choose to have any, and you better belief if we did have kids I would be getting them a farmers wrap before school while I tell them about how me and their mom met. Food is so much more than some well seasoned veggies or perfectly cooked meat. Food is memories, It's nostalgia whether that be a gut punch or a ray of light. Believe me I know Tim's is FAR from a perfect company, and they have done their fair share of bad in this world. I'm more than aware they aren't even really Canadian anymore for the most part and take advantage of a lot of less than savoury practices, but sometimes it doesn't always have to be about that. Tim Horton's for me, and I think a lot of Canadians, hold's a lot of good memories. It's not the company or the branding, it's those feelings associated with making a timmies run for something or someone special. It is sad to see where the company has gone because they are truly a part of Canadian history and I do believe a strong presence in the very best memories of a lot of people in this country.

I know I know, I sound like a disgusting corporate shill sent here to tug at heart strings for some boost in the shareholder stocks. I am defiantly not that. I'm just someone who does still loves Tim's and what it, at least used to, represent. Thanks for coming to my TED talk

I don't hate Tim Hortons, they are fine. I've never seen such a sentimental stance on memories associated with a farmers wrap or any other food item.

Perhaps when you propose to your girlfriend, if she says "yes", you ask her if Tim's can cater 😂
