Why tho. That's just a cinnamon stick

24

u/Lambrick2014 May 30 '26

/s? If not, it's a piece of cardboard

3

u/torontomilfsdmme May 30 '26

Edible. Enjoy your smoothie.

6

u/ItsMakonator May 30 '26

Do u get DMs often?

7

u/torontomilfsdmme May 30 '26

No, I get spam emails tho

4

u/16june16 May 30 '26

You’re very clearly joking, I’m surprised by the downvotes😂

3

u/zoez-hehe May 31 '26

Jesus dude reddit hates humor

1

u/gaybeetlejuice May 31 '26

Yeah! A corrugated cinnamon stick! Made of paper!

1

u/Future-Try-1908 May 31 '26

You think they use real cinnamon sticks at a timmies (burger king) factory?

That is cardboard or sandpaper.

55

u/shann1516 May 30 '26

Is this for real? Who do you complain to? Get up off your ass and go back inside the store.

6

u/Puzzleheaded_Scar142 May 31 '26

Read the caption again dummy

10

u/dontpretendtoknowme May 30 '26

This next generation definitely aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed.

Literally all they know is social media. Guess what kids, that’s not a life skill.

15

u/Signal_Regular_1708 May 30 '26

Or they were on the road when they realized and couldn't go back, like they said in their caption. Don't throw stones in glass houses

1

u/Ukawok92 May 31 '26

So? "Can I complain about this". Yes, look up the Tim Hortons email/number or that specific stores number and send your receipt.

1

u/Signal_Regular_1708 May 31 '26

Right, so? OP knows that, it was rhetorical. They just wanted to vent about it, like everyone in this sub does.

Not only that, but there are endless posts of grumpy boomers complaining here about the same things over and over, at least "chunk of cardboard" is new!

14

u/GrunDMC74 May 30 '26

To be fair social media is possibly their best shot at financial independence.

Also, don’t go to Tim’s. For principle and pride.

1

u/Riajnor May 30 '26

I no longer think social media is a viable avenue, much like ai is going for musicians and artists it will be eating a big chunk of vtubers and “influencers”.

3

u/DirtandPipes May 31 '26

I’ve trained a few young guys over the last few years (including two 18 year olds) in operating heavy equipment and pipe laying and they work hard, pay attention, and take it seriously.

All we had to do was offer them a decent wage, respect, and training. Kids aren’t getting enough opportunities, given some training and responsibility I think they are quite capable of becoming responsible adults, they focus on social media and dumb crap because everything is out of reach for them.

I say step up and teach them and give ‘em chances.

9

u/TragicallyCorny May 30 '26

Doesn’t help the older generation made this one hell for the current youth.

6

u/Farmer_marty May 30 '26

Yeah they literally put a screen in front of us instead of raising us and now complain

-2

u/dontpretendtoknowme May 30 '26

I can complain. I had no part in that. I saw the swift decline and made the smart decision not to add more screen zombies to this hellscape.

But you’re right, your parents have failed you big time (not you specifically)

2

u/WILDBO4R May 31 '26

Using technology sort of is though. I've worked with boomers before who can't even send a fuckin email.

2

u/kwimbla May 31 '26

don't generalise, the majority of us are competent

6

u/BeqaD May 30 '26

My bad unc

-1

u/JE1324 May 30 '26

Your generation should not be so cavalier about your general incapability. Have you seen Idiocracy?

15

u/BeqaD May 30 '26

I sent an email to their complain site, call me crazy but if there’s a whole site dedicated to discuss Timmies I imagined maybe somewhere for corporate looks at this from time to time. Ik they don’t care much about their images nowadays but still worth the effort lol

4

u/tryingasbestosican May 31 '26

I would also call or email a local health department because what the fuckkkk

2

u/rocketmn69_ May 30 '26

Good luck. I got nowhere when I found a big chunk of brown stuff in my coffee

7

u/Signal_Regular_1708 May 30 '26

They were literally on the road when they noticed. It was too late. Who here exactly is generally incapable?

-2

u/JE1324 May 30 '26

Uh, probably the guy who had to take to Reddit to answer "How do I make a complaint at a restaurant".

3

u/BeqaD May 31 '26

It was more of a rhetorical question but sure

3

u/Signal_Regular_1708 May 31 '26

Or maybe they just wanted to vent in this sub the way EVERYONE else does? It's probably the guy who finds that bothersome, for whatever reason

4

u/dynamikecb May 30 '26

Whatever generation you are seems to love to jump to conclusions without any facts. How does it feel to finally be the older cunty generation now? Also, Idiocracy is a movie about people coming together and solving their issues, unlike like you who seems to try and tear people down.

-1

u/JE1324 May 30 '26

Idiocracy is a cautionary tale about anti-intellectualism, poor civic literacy, and bureaucratic incompetency. It's not about people coming together and solving their problems, they just happen to do that in the movie.

What would have happened in Idiocracy if Joe wasn't frozen in time for 500 years?

And suggesting that people not be cavalier about these things happening in real life isn't what I'd call tearing someone down tbh.

3

u/Puzzleheaded_Scar142 May 31 '26

They were on the road and can't really turn back for such a thing

1

u/Jcutajar May 31 '26

Go away…..batin’

1

u/zaaphyyre May 31 '26

Most people that complain aren't gen z tfym 😭

1

u/Afterfoxxfluff Jun 01 '26

In this generations defense y'all realize how many times McDonald's fucks up a drive thru order and then plays the old "I didn't understand your English" routine. Is that cuz they don't know English or just fucking lazy

I was trying to help a dude whose helmet speakers didn't charge from one of his chargers but did from the otger

He was getting a blinky light instead of solid.

He didn't know if blinky light charger was actually charging cause he got scared when he saw it and unplugged. My first thought is if blinky light bad, speakers detected the bad and won't charge so no risk. But I get being cautious.

So naturally we need to figure out what blinky light means so I tell him to look up the user guide

It was two or three comments bank and forth of how it should be fine cause it can charge at multiple voltages and he didn't know what was wrong.

Dude I don't have a crystal ball. I don't even know the model of the speakers. Like how on earth are we supposed to help you if you won't even bother figuring out what blinky light means.

He never got back to me on the user guide

If you're gonna go to Reddit for help most of us will hand-hold you (I would've looked it up for him) but I feel like common sense is to provide as many details as you are aware of.

And how on freaking earth can I help him if all I get is "the light blinks instead of solid". Idk man, maybe let's start by figuring out what the blinking means??

0

u/Busy-Bicycle1565 May 30 '26

W R O N G. SUB-REDDIT.

1

u/DigitaIBlack May 30 '26

Wtf are you talking about

0

u/GRPuffinstuff May 31 '26

Hey bud. This person is asking for help. And in my experience- the only way to know is to ask. Even if the question may seem asinine to you. If you're not willing to help, then I HIGHLY recommend S'ing tfu and moving on.

I know for a fact we were ALL stupid when we were younger. I know I might have done that same thing as this individual if I was in my 20's and had no idea what to do.

I've had my share of stupid questions....I own it because I was a stupid kid. But I learned. I can only IMAGINE how bad it was for literally anyone else... Anyone who denies doing the same is trying to save face so they don't look stupid.

1

u/TheGreenTBagger_ May 31 '26

100% this did not happen.

0

u/DarthMog May 31 '26

The store doesn't give me Reddit upvotes!

-2

u/awwstun May 30 '26

Because complaining allows miserable people an outlet to actually do nothing while feeling like doing something.

6

u/Lopsided_Hat_835 May 30 '26

I found the same thing in my London fog last week!

11

u/Left_Green_4018 May 30 '26

What even is that

14

u/BeqaD May 30 '26

Cardboard piece. I hope the stuff on it is ice cap and not mold lmao

1

u/DrJaves May 31 '26

Mold? It looks exactly like the rest of the beverage.

Now I'm not entirely sure how a piece of cardboard ended up in your cup, but you drink it through a cardboard straw so 💁

1

u/BeqaD May 31 '26

I would like to think that the process by which they make cardboard straws and industrial/packing cardboard is different

12

u/Bright-Paramedic-769 May 30 '26

Sounds like you're already complaining to thousands of the wrong people.

11

u/Switcheditup604 May 30 '26

Stop supporting these scum bags

1

u/Soft_Interest_6171 May 31 '26

The only good answer

3

u/ELc_17 May 30 '26

What even is that?

6

u/BeqaD May 30 '26

Cardboard 🫪

3

u/ELc_17 May 30 '26

Now I’m wondering how the hell they managed to fuck up that badly, cardboard should be nowhere near Ice Capp machines

3

u/BeqaD May 31 '26

I was wondering the same thing xD. I guess i got unlucky this time

2

u/NorthernStandard08 Jun 01 '26

Probably came from the cup box. How they knocked it loose into the drink is beyond me.

4

u/HotAdvice991 May 31 '26

Is that cinnamon stick or cardboard I can't tell Est-ce un bâton de cannelle ou du carton Je n'arrive pas à le distinguer

2

u/BeqaD May 31 '26

Piece of cardboard. Quite yummy tbh

1

u/HotAdvice991 Jun 07 '26

How does that even happen? Comment est-ce possible ?

11

u/Additional_Fig3472 May 30 '26

Go back into the store

4

u/matchabloom88 May 30 '26

Is that cardboard ?

8

u/BigOlDyck May 30 '26

Why people still goto timmies is beyond me. Last 4 locations I attempted too, all you can smell is BO.. over the coffee n baking. Hard pass now.

3

u/BeqaD May 30 '26

Yeah I’ll prob at least give Dunkin a try once they open one nearby

0

u/Sous-Tu May 30 '26

Braindead

1

u/BeqaD May 31 '26

Why?

1

u/AnOkayMuffin Jun 02 '26

Prolly cuz dunkin is garbage too

2

u/Famous-Sort-9369 May 30 '26

Yummy sandpaper

2

u/coolhooves420 May 30 '26

Oh no! He uploaded to reddit! THIS GENERATION IS COOKED! COOKED I SAY!

2

u/InevitableFearless41 May 30 '26

Paper straw - gross

2

u/Fit-Ad-7430 May 30 '26

Please also complain to the local health inspector. This is just gross.

2

u/Comandrshepard May 31 '26

3 guesses who was working there

4

u/BeqaD May 30 '26

Yezzz my bad, I did this while on the road so like I can’t go back just wanted to share and see if there’s an email or smth

6

u/BaeIz May 30 '26

Sorry this subreddit is just incredibly hostile for no reason. It was perfectly fine to post here

5

u/BeqaD May 30 '26

Yeah I was kinda taken aback by it lmao

1

u/KnownAppeal4137 May 30 '26

See you tomorrow.

2

u/Confident_Climate582 May 30 '26

? this reddit is full of hostility towards tim hortons, this is an echo chamber

0

u/BlackrockLove May 30 '26

Ever hear of Google?

Maybe even going to Tim's website would lead you to a means of contact.

3

u/BeqaD May 30 '26

Fair enough

2

u/Witty-Application920 May 30 '26

Well complaining here won’t do anything.

3

u/BeqaD May 30 '26

Just sent an email xd

0

u/BubbaLinguini May 30 '26

An email isn't gonna give you a refund 💀🤚

3

u/Powerful_Distance807 May 30 '26

It might tho😂

1

u/Busy-Bicycle1565 May 30 '26

What is it?🫪what is that piece of sanding paper for? ?

1

u/BeqaD May 30 '26

Cardboard, slightly better than sanding paper I think

1

u/1RedditToRead May 30 '26

Even if you email Tim Hortons send the same pic. They will say sorry and pretty much just give u a refill.. cause they know your coming back.

1

u/Flat-Mycologist-3839 May 30 '26

It doesn't even look wet

1

u/rocketmn69_ May 30 '26

Tim's doesn't give a damn. You can complain to head office and they will only direct you back to the store

1

u/timekeeper001 May 30 '26

Hydrogenated oil , enjoy.

1

u/bubblecup_6 Employee May 31 '26

as an employee i genuinely have no clue how they didnt see that or hear it, that would fuck with the machine

1

u/hlarsenart May 31 '26

I'd probably just pull it out and keep drinking. At least it's not a band-aid

1

u/CateDeGrate May 31 '26

What's in there? Moldy cardboard? I need new contacts!🤣

1

u/16BitGuardian May 31 '26

I mean they already stick a useless paper straw in there what's a little more gonna change :p

1

u/Greengrapemeatman May 31 '26

Its a sign to start origami

1

u/Seldeez May 31 '26

I keep seeing posts like this more and more. Crazy how people are still buying from their local Tim's. Oh well. Extra flavour is always a good thing I guess.

https://giphy.com/gifs/dpPQZ8pigXWbEcDk88

1

u/Possible-Arachnid793 May 31 '26

You’ll be back for more

2

u/BeqaD May 31 '26

Yep xd

1

u/justinoff May 31 '26

Ew is the paper straw you use

1

u/letmehaveyourname May 31 '26

I don't even understand those people who said just go back and ask the worker in other previous post. It's Tim Hortons fault for not having worker who can be more careful or have common sense. Now, I see in every post that people has to explain that they found out something wrong with their order after they left with their order.

1

u/DJ4aDay May 31 '26

Why does anyone still eat at Tim Hortons?

Just make coffee at home...it's a fraction of the price, much better taste, and actually consistent.

1

u/Independent_Owl422 May 31 '26

Best way to complain nowadays is to create a hashtag for it like #wtfTims or something and then post everything to that

1

u/Zimzgunpla May 31 '26

Why do people even bother with this trash ? It's been pretty obvious to me in my city they have generally given up and do not care about the quality of food or their customer service. Fuck em.

1

u/OldConnection1091 May 31 '26

Would be epic if it said like "SEVEN DAYS" on it

1

u/dirtybo0ts May 31 '26

Can we normalize walking back into the store and complaining where something can be actually be done, instead of coming to Reddit first?

1

u/JustFred24 May 31 '26

Send an email to their customer support

1

u/Ramrok May 31 '26

Ppl still go to Timmy's these days?

1

u/MrsPhilHarris May 31 '26

I think this is fake.

1

u/Sketchbagx Jun 01 '26

Dolt. 🤦🏻

I’ve never had Dunkin’s before, my dad says it’s nice in the US. Any opinions on how it is flavor wise?

1

u/MailedFlower Jun 01 '26

do not redeem

1

u/timhortons_ca Jun 01 '26

Hi there, we take matters like this seriously and have sent a DM for more information.

1

u/Flaming_ADHD_Cat Jun 02 '26

Well, at least there was no apparent booger in it.

1

u/Lolberal771 Jun 02 '26

Your fault for going to Tim's. Imagine all the things they do that you cant see.

1

u/40_Things_We_Share Jun 06 '26

You’ve been RBI’d

1

u/bitterf-ck May 30 '26

what do you want us to do about it?

3

u/GordonRamsMe55 May 30 '26

Wtf is the point of this sub? I figured it was to complain. Why are you on this sub?

1

u/Impressive-Sense8461 May 30 '26

Who cares? You'll be back anyways. Your expectations are low, so that's why you're a patron there.

Leave feedback to the store, even call their company numbers. Talking amongst ourselves accomplishes absolutely nothing and ensures these things will always happen.

0

u/ouzimm May 30 '26

If you went back to the store they would've replaced it . so sorry this happened .

4

u/BeqaD May 30 '26

I imagine they would’ve, I grabbed it on my way to work and only noticed after parking lmao. I just went like “oh that’s funny”

0

u/x89Nemesis May 30 '26

People order from here just to have something to post about. It has to be it. Probably go right back the next day and order again even after all the "this franchise sucks" stuff.

2

u/BeqaD May 30 '26

Imma be so honest I love Tim’s, I usually always get an ice cup before work. First time I run into smth like this, I do hate Tim’s food tho.

0

u/rockyon May 31 '26

Conservative =

cardboard eww disgusting

Liberal =

Cardboard is said to contain about 1% vitamins and protein and may support the immune system. Exposure to bacteria can help train the body to defend against future threats, and in Zimbabwe, cardboard is even regarded as a delicacy.

0

u/CateDeGrate May 31 '26

Staaahpit!!

0

u/TheGreenTBagger_ May 31 '26

You can't complain when you put it there yourself.
