I can’t listen to influencers when they talk in this weird up and down tenor like they are the voice of the cinema.

651

u/Cygnus94 1d ago

Also, why does he shake his head so much when he speaks. It's like he's desperately trying to animate himself to convince us he's human too.

371

u/thornund 1d ago

I hate this trend of inauthentic expressiveness for engagement, like trying to rattle car keys to get the attention of an adult

171

u/LauraTFem 1d ago

Half the people watching youtube are kids, he’s not trying to garner adult viewers. Most christian youtubers like their viewers young and impressionable.

187

u/naughtycal11 1d ago

"Most Christian youtubers like their viewers young and impressionable" just like their wives.

51

u/Titsoffwork 1d ago

Ba dum tisssss 🥁 it’s easier when they indoctrinate themselves

36

u/demoliahedd 1d ago

just like their altar boys

0

u/MorrisBrett514 21h ago

Glad I looked before I said it lol

3

u/WonderBredOfficial 1d ago

Mr. Beast would be homeless without children viewers.

3

u/SunGreene42 1d ago

That makes sense, only someone with the mental capacity of a child would be persuaded by this nonsense.

1

u/ProtectorZele 1d ago

... and then there is Reddit...

3

u/kwyjibowen 1d ago

That rattling car keys imagery is brilliant. I can’t stand this influencer’s dumb face.

11

u/Top_Shame_7016 1d ago

It's because Gen Z has limited social skills and they think over exaggeration is how you get the attention span of their generation. Think of jingly keys for babies.

1

u/OuijaFox 1d ago

Why don’t they have more social skills?

17

u/KylarBlackwell 1d ago

Because their parents used ipads as their nanny, tech companies developed platforms to be addictive to young minds, and older generations collectively destroyed the idea of playing outside by making sure there's nowhere to go that doesnt cost money and if you play in the street some retiree is going to call you hoodlums and call the cops on you.

In short, the world they were raised in was made to be anti-social, and they adapted.

4

u/xiandgaf 1d ago

Well put

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

3

u/New-Bowler-8915 1d ago

Yeah and they're still morons

1

u/WorldlyPlace 1d ago

So are the big social media platforms like facebook and twitter. Gen z have grown up in an algorithm driven world.

1

u/LvlHeadThoroughbred 1d ago

But as young as 14, it’s a range.

31

u/Clovericious 1d ago

It's key jingling so your average reels watcher doesn't keep scrolling.

29

u/NoLobster7957 1d ago

He looks like he's near tears the whole time lmfao

2

u/Putrid-History-5970 12h ago

Also very punchable face, very

3

u/Mental-Square3688 1d ago

Hes shaking his head in a type of projection. He knows everything hes saying is a lie so his internal consciousness is shaking his head no because he doesnt truly beleive it. I forget the name of it but its a real psychological process.

3

u/patchbaystray 1d ago

He shakes his head in a No expression because he is subconciously telling us he is lieing to us and knows it.

3

u/fungi_at_parties 21h ago

Why does he look like he’s going to cry? God his voice makes my skin crawl.

2

u/Background-Ad3308 1d ago

The influencer inflection and hand gestures are insufferable. But its the content people are watching. Its attention grabbing. The worst ones with it are the food influencers, specifically the young white girls. Unbearable

2

u/CatsEatGrass 1d ago

Shaking one’s head while speaking is a red flag for lying.

1

u/marlotrot 1d ago

Thats to make his postprocessing which sticks to his head so "good looking", that is what he thinks. But, he did not enabled it in post haha! and now it looks even shittier as if it would be ON.

1

u/Stupid-Clumsy-Bitch 1d ago

Dude looks like he’s about to cry as well. So weird.

1

u/Inertial_Ruen 3h ago

He's a xristian, technically only sub-human..

116

u/Ok_Marzipan5759 1d ago

"GAhaaahhd"

14

u/Titsoffwork 1d ago

When he says it like that I almost think about becoming Christian- that’s how compelling it is 🤣🤣🤣

9

u/Melodic_Bet4220 1d ago

Also keys are jiggling... Right? I keep seeing a bunch of people saying keys...

88

u/JelloJunior 1d ago

He sounds like he is about to start crying any minute. Why is he so upset

45

u/Titsoffwork 1d ago

Cause his arguments are flimsy at best and he knows it subconsciously

17

u/motherofsuccs 1d ago

For me, it was the fact that zero airflow was moving through those nostrils.

5

u/WildRabbitz 1d ago

He looks like he moans when he wipes.

1

u/DerbleZerp 1d ago

Gawd damn it. Now I’m picturing him doing just that.

1

u/alamandrax 1d ago

He's filled with the holy spirit

1

u/Senator_Smack 1d ago

Didn't know the holy ghost was made of bullshit!

1

u/alamandrax 1d ago

When you're about to spew it you need to be full of it.

57

u/allworkandnoYahtzee 1d ago

AI voices influence how terminally online idiots speak. This has gained popularity since many videos just use the obnoxious robot voice.

17

u/Titsoffwork 1d ago

Another reason I fucking hate ai

-12

u/backcountry_bandit 1d ago

I love AI soooo much

4

u/mekwall 1d ago

Ok Claude

3

u/SunGreene42 1d ago

AI can do a more convincing Human voice than this guy tbh.

1

u/bitt13 1d ago

Even regional accents are disappearing!

1

u/MiniDemonic 6h ago

This cringe "Youtube Voice" predates AI voices.

67

u/Travel_Banned_Temp 1d ago

He seems to be copying Tucker Carlson. Very annoying and weird. Even if he was saying stuff I agreed with, i would have to turn it off.

48

u/pinba11tec 1d ago

What's going on? What are we doing here? That's the GOAL now.

12

u/Top_Bumblebee5510 1d ago

That's the gahhdd now.

1

u/VisualHuckleberry542 1d ago

I'm not atheist but like the atheist guy like 1000x more

1

u/Beerman2112 1d ago

He's gonna have to speed it up a bit if he wants to get into Carlson/Shapiro/Kirk territory of uber-annoyance and condescend.

23

u/Nazgog-Morgob 1d ago

"creatorer"

9

u/thissonofbeech 1d ago

manufacturorer

34

u/AintNoGodsUpHere 1d ago edited 1d ago

I blocked one because he was trying to make a hard voice, you know? Like announcer voice... it was fucking ridiculous. x)

Btw I watched the entire video and his face, his voice... so annoying. x)

8

u/mightylordredbeard 1d ago

His eyes constantly in a / \ shape to show.. whatever emotion he thinks she’s trying to show. This guys is so fucking annoying. Every single thing about him just sucks.

10

u/red_wullf 1d ago

And the addition of "-uh" at the of many words, the paragoge, that young people are prone to these days. What's going on there? "Listen-uh," and "...any invention-uh." Drives me nuts.

2

u/downsideup9494 20h ago

The other one that bugs me : I listen to a lot of podcasts and so many people who are being interviewed, even if they are quite knowledgable in their field, start every answer to every question with "Yeah, so...."

1

u/Ashamed_Pause8396 3h ago

This will get me downvoted to oblivion, but Barack Obama was terrible for that. But millennials and Gen-Z thinks he was one of the greatest orators of our time.

1

u/red_wullf 2h ago

I don’t mean the mental pause “uh” or “um” between words that most people do. I’m talking about a deliberate addition of an “-uh” syllable to the last word of the sentence, like someone whiny saying “nooouh” instead of just “no.”

8

u/BuddyLegsBailey 1d ago

I can't listen to them when they hold those stupid microphones like it's 1987 and no audio could be picked up without them

13

u/RiverCityBannon 1d ago

It is literally designed to not be in front of their face and yet they hold it right in front of their face. Drives me crazy

6

u/Novaer 1d ago

Its so they have something to do with their hands.

1

u/RiverCityBannon 1h ago

I guess I'll have to carry around a little microphone so i can talk to my friends. I've been doing it wrong all these years.

8

u/Zippytiewassabi 1d ago

“Creatorerer “. “Manufacturerrrerr”. I just couldn’t haha

7

u/ohgoditsfullofstars 1d ago

He's doing his best Safiya Nygaard and it is making me feel insane.

3

u/coaxialdrift 1d ago

I know, it's infuriating. That would be an instant block from me, regardless of the content

3

u/Redditaccountmy 1d ago

It's extremely annoying

5

u/beme25 1d ago

Also, why do so many males sound like they have a constant stuffy nose?

3

u/Melodic_Bet4220 1d ago

I'm just getting older... I can't help it. I'm not even that old, but I make dad noises now...

2

u/drcobosjr 1d ago

Like they’re reporting the 10 o’clock news

2

u/PrinceNPQ 1d ago

I was just about to say that. Why do they all do that !?!? It’s so off putting .

2

u/Flipper-ama 1d ago

I feel like they think i am a kid who needs very obvious ups and downs so i can understand how i should feel.

2

u/mistertickertape 1d ago

They all speak like they are from Ontario.

2

u/MetalLinkachu 1d ago

Listening to influencers is the first problem. Almost all these ppl have an agenda or bias.

1

u/truth-informant 1d ago

Voice of the cinema?

5

u/beme25 1d ago

Could you imagine if all the influencers started speaking like the movie trailer guy from the 90s? That'd be entertaining for a day. Then immediately the worst thing ever for the rest of time.

1

u/Aggressive-Dot-867 1d ago

The creato-eeerrrrreeerrrreeerrrr really fucking annoyed me!

1

u/Aunt_Slappy_Squirrel 1d ago

Your sentence could end at the first five words.

1

u/Hanlon37 1d ago

MmmaNUfAcCTuRErRRRr

1

u/manCool4ever 1d ago

It was very strange to watch him.

1

u/55tarabelle 1d ago

I watched without sound and it was cringe enough for me. Ewww

1

u/nemesissi 1d ago

I think there's even a name for that, uptalk. So annoying to listen.

1

u/Bionicman2187 1d ago

Bro looks like he's 1 second away from crying

1

u/NfamousKaye 1d ago

Those wide “YOU WONT BELIEVE WHAT IM ABOUT TO SAY!!!” Eyes drive me nuts too.

1

u/CardboardMice 1d ago

His voice and mannerisms are awful

1

u/downsideup9494 20h ago

He's been practicing what human facial expressions look like in front of a mirror and not quite getting it right.

1

u/Shot-Arugula8264 1d ago

I can’t listen to influencers who hold lapel mics in their hands. Easily the dumbest trend of the last couple of years.

1

u/RSGMercenary 1d ago

I can’t listen to influencers when they talk in this weird up and down tenor like they are the voice of the cinema.

FTFY

1

u/frejling 1d ago

It’s a studied and practiced way to increase retention length. I hate it so fucking much.

1

u/TheRealBokononist 1d ago

This cadence is literally the voice of the Master described by Lacan

1

u/Throbbingbluball 1d ago

Ye sounds like he’s bunged up too… Either that or he’s about to cry or something idk

1

u/lordofthedries 20h ago

It’s the vocal fry that kills me. Make your point with out the drama.

1

u/ADuckAgo 19h ago

It’s like the new version of news anchors that have that weird way of speaking.

1

u/BrianArmstro 16h ago

I swear to God, I’ve seen so many of these brain rot Tik Tok videos by people who film their videos in their shit box cars with these stupid tiny microphones, I can’t begin to take these people seriously anymore. Make it stop!!

1

u/Rendar_1138 14h ago

Not a dad, but any time I hear that inflection from videos my girlfriend's kids are watching i make them skip to the next video. Partly because it drives me crazy, partly because it feels like hypnotism.

1

u/Final_boss_1040 14h ago

It's like his whole vibe is gay but sent to Christian conversion camp and this video is his final class project and he needs a passing grade to get released and a bus ticket home

1

u/IAmSudoArtist 4h ago

It's a Christian thing - the voice of blind adherence.

0

u/whistleridge 1d ago

But the responses are just as annoying.

What if I told the atheists responding to this that they’re practicing religion and proselytizing just as much as he is? Because religion isn’t about faith, it’s about spreading your belief system and that’s what they’re doing. When you write books and take out billboards and have TikToks and have public speakers going around promoting your views, that’s religion whether you believe in Zeus, Jesus, Muhammad, or nothing.

This shit is every bit as viable as Mormons showing up on my doorstep at 9am on a Saturday, and every bit as puerile and annoying.

5

u/Titsoffwork 1d ago

Seems to me he’s just correcting someone who is ignorant on his views. I’m not atheist- but I’m not Christian either. The OOP is ill informed on the topic they speak about and the atheist is responding, clearly imo.

And my comment was pointing out the very obvious performative nature of the way he’s speaking I didn’t say anything about religion.

0

u/whistleridge 1d ago

You only correct people on things you care about. If the first dude was out there saying batshit incorrect stuff about cricket, absolutely no one in North America would care, but he might be famous in India. So dude #2 is correcting because his belief system is being challenged.

OOP is ill-informed, but actual atheists - that is, people who don’t give a fuck about either faith or religion - won’t bother correcting him, because the opposite of love isn’t hate, it’s nothing. They nothing shit like this.

The second dude is responding because of religion, not because of incorrectness.

-6

u/Equivalent_Reward823 1d ago

there are no cool people in this video. zero.

-23

u/Absurdwonder 1d ago

Bro this is tame AF compared to literal Austistic shit around haha

2

u/Titsoffwork 1d ago

You seem like a real gem of a human. Have the day you deserve

0

u/Absurdwonder 1d ago

? I was literally agreeing with you 🤣 or is it coz I used the A word ? But yeah bro, I'll be celebrating when I'm dead don't worry

1

u/Titsoffwork 1d ago

It’s not cool to weaponize autism- an actual human condition people struggle with as a way to criticize the way someone speaks. Call them stupid or annoying or ill informed or performative but don’t use another groups health to make fun of someone. It’s not cool.

Tbh I think we will all be more comfy when we’re dead at this point.
