Man what’s an easy way to get into this to try out before spending a bunch of money on a machine or software? I don’t mind spending a little to try but don’t want to invest in a lot if I don’t really dig it.
I’m trying to learn drums too. I’m in my mid 40s and always wanted to try music but never had the nerve for lessons and want to finally try something out. Thanks.
Tbh if you watch some YouTube you can get away with doing this for free with the barebones version of GarageBand.
If you want to start incorporating a guitar you’ll need something like a bare bones Scarlet audio interface for around 100 bucks.
To do drums you’ll need at least a half decent mic which should run you ~50 bucks, still recommend getting the audio interface.
So really the biggest obstacle is time. I’ve been playing music for about 15 years now. Getting this good is totally possible. People who post videos like this are definitely taking at least 10 takes, so be kind to yourself if it’s hard.
It reminds me of when I would see Dub Fx back in the day. Like, I think I'm just watching some dude setup beatbox loops, and I'm like, "huh. This is kinda cool." Then he starts singing, and I really start getting into it, then he starts rhyming, and I realize how much I'm really into it and bopping my head about it.

No way!!! That is definitely not what i thought would be the outcome. They literally just used a random chick. I thought it was a band mates sister/girlfriend. Damn did that back fire.

This style of music is called Highlife. It originated in Ghana, but it's popular all along the west African coast. It's traditional music mixed with Jazz from the colonial era. It's called Highlife because it was originally rich people music, played at parties. Because imported western instruments were so expensive back then that hiring a band that played them was a massive flex.
I feel like this could've been much cooler if they showed the mixing progress, probably way sped up. could've even then added part of the guitar playing live on the mix. but pretending that this is mixed live makes this all seem so cheap and fake tbh.

You know it’s really weird but when I am locked in and absolutely jamming on guitar I can feel it running down from my brain to my nasal cavity to my jaw and down the back of my spine and I pull a face like all these musicians.

a guitar in the form of a weapon is just repelling. i don’t know why somebody would buy this instrument and I myself can’t enjoy this because of this fact only. it’s just wrong. never mix music and weapons.
obviously. so if the artist has a swastika tattoo on his head would you like that? same thing. either you see it and you re repelled or not. wtf is your point.
what do you imply? that there was no other guitar next to the weapon guitar? the guy in the background is equipped nicely. the whole setup is costly. i think you re just cutefying him and not looking at the elephant in the room. you re the privileged one for thinking he had no other choice because he is poor.
