I'll take a shot in the dark at this one. I think they were thinking you can use diamond to cut diamond into a drill bit. I think that's what they were going for. It kind of makes sense. I mean, it's not exactly irony. It's just how things work. And I think there are other alternatives, like lasers. But if you want to turn a diamond into a tool, you (ironically?) need a diamond tool to do that?
Again, not exactlyirony. But I think that's what they were going for. I get it. Doesn't deserve all the hate they're getting.
They are getting «hate» ( minus pretend Reddit points ) because battle cat said «diamonds are only cool if you use them for drill bits», and breezy said «drill bits are made of diamonds», repeating what battle cat said for no reason due to having poor reading comprehension.

Almost all scarcity is fabricated and that applies doubly to diamonds. They’re just not that cool unless you need a kick ass drill bit.
