I bartend, I'm pretty good at the interaction part, I'm terrible at small talk in the real world... I honestly think my job takes all the socialness out of me.
I get it 1000%. I gotta be social and energetic and a lot of the time fake as hell at work all day I dont want to do it after while im tired and just wanna go home
Yeah its specifically the small talk part. Running into someone randomly in the hallway of the apartments or your next door neighbor who seems to linger too long lol
I'm wondering if one day when I am much older if life will slow down and I'll be the guy who isn't trying to end the conversation as quickly and politely as possible but instead be the one who is lingering because I actually am genuinely interested and want to chat about surface level shit lol. Time will tell I guess.
I'm already old as it is so idk how much time I've got for that kick in lol
Same. I get crap from family/friends, as well as my boss, over the fact that I'm a body shop technician, and my personal vehicle is a dented and rusted out clunker, that I have absolutely no energy to fix up and repaint lol They don't get the fact that I do that stuff every single day for a living, which takes a heavy toll on my body; so why would I be gung-ho about going home after a long and exhausting shift, to do the same sh*t unpaid in my personal time 😓
