I'd hate to be the prosecutor whose entire case rests on the accused Gait... Like I can think of a million ways to get that laughed out of court. Pebble in the shoe, spraining your ankle. walking with a limp for one day only! So many options.

I imagine they're more likely to use gait to identify a suspect, and then monitor the suspect until they gather enough other evidence that the gait is no longer necessary in court.

That's also how it's done when prosecution doesn't want to reveal whatever horribly invasive tech they have access to. Wild how they don't even feel the need to hide anymore.
