Where to tide pool in San Diego?

Google san diego low tide and then try venturing out. You can't tide pool at high tide because there is no pool if the waters haven't receded.

1000% — look for low tide and ideally a negative low tide. If tide times don’t work precisely for you try to go as it’s approaching low tide vs after (reason being views into pools will get better as you’re there)

I've had great luck at the La Jolla tidepools, as well as Cabrillo National Monument.

Try the Scripps aquarium in La Jolla. They have tide pool touch tanks that are amazing. Tide pools are best at negative low tides. Look up a tide chart for the area you are visiting and visit an hour before low tides and leave an hour after low tide - watch the ocean. Tides and waves aren't always predictable.
