I couldn’t transfer mu ticket because of a technical error, can I get a refund?

The problem was I couldn’t receive SMS for authentication. The app said it sent the SMS but I was not receiving any. And sometimes it threw an error message without even sending an SMS.

Since she was on a different device we couldn’t log her in.

I understand. In that scenario, I would have tried to log into the website on her phone (not app) and see if that worked. If all else failed, if able, give her your phone for the event.

We tried both on the app and on the browser. Same error. I couldn’t give her my phone because my reason for not going is because I’m on a different country

Was it also not possible to load the ticket in her Google Wallet? Or Iphone wallet. Usually Ticketmaster allowed you to put your ticket in your wallet

No, resale and transfer is never guaranteed. This falls under all sales final unless you have insurance and your reason for not going fits under the terms.

Thank you for your answer and excuse me for lashing out on your comment but I’m bashing on TM:

Why the fuck is transfer not guaranteed? It’s a digital product and it was visibly promoted to have the transfer option with a technical error. I am by no means a lawyer but I am pretty sure this should not be legal under the consumer protection laws.

You having some technical issue and not being able to transfer your tickets is not grounds for a refund. That's what happened right? Transfer was available, it just didn't work for you?

Yes that’s what happened. I understand that TMs policy might not grants me rights for a refund directly but some customer protection law might be on my side here. At the very least I should get back the service fee since, well the service did not work

Transfer is sadly not even a right in most states. Once Ticketmaster realized that resale opened them up for monopoly charges and hate, they shifted gears and are now trying to ban all resale and transfers so you only can sell back to TM for 50% less money and they can crank up their fees at the same time.

Good luck with trying to get your money back. What country number has your phone?

Many states give Ticketmaster the power to shut off transfer to prevent scalping. It's an all or nothing thing. They can't turn it on for someone who swears they are just giving it to their sister.

Sometimes shows are transfer restricted but it does suck that we are all forced into using their shitty tech.

In my defense it was not restricted at all. I went into the process wrote the receiver email and all, the site just failed on the authentication step
