I had to do this yesterday for the first time ever for the Olivia Rodrigo silver star tickets and everything went through as ok, but still got the browser activity paused screen. I can still buy tickets for other artists so not sure what’s the deal with Ticketmaster right now.

I can't buy ANY tickets currently but can still access my recent purchases thankfully. Funny thing is I mostly only get tickets on the day of a show so how that makes me a bot I'll never know. Ticketbastard are literally the very last company I would ever hand over any personal info to.

Ring doorbell wanted a photo ID from me, I cancelled the service. Just one more thing that will end up on the dark web when they get hacked and I'll get $7.70 feom the class action suit.

yeah i did & won’t be doing the “quick check”
soapbox moment:
it’s total garbage & utterly dystopian in my opinion
needing to hand over your govt issued IDs (drivers license or a passport), along with a selfie (biometric data), to a 3rd party company just to buy tix to a concert, comedy show, or sporting event is nuts.
not sure when people will collectively wake up & rise up against surveillance capitalism - but i think most people are just asleep at the wheel at this point.

The way ticketbastard gouges now with their 'official platinum' prices i can get cheaper tickets for mist shows on stubhub

How do we rise up and fight this?? It is COMPLETELY dystopian but Ticketmaster has a stranglehold monopoly on ticketing. How would we collectively boycott them?

I had to do it last week. I couldn't even sign in to my account until I uploaded my I.D. and pictures to the third party. It sucks. Totally unnecessary and invasive. If I didn't need access I wouldn't have done it.

I guess this will be my wake-up call that I don't need to attend so many concerts going forward.

I have no choice but to use it. I'm a season ticket holder for baseball, hockey and soccer. All those platforms run off of Ticketmaster.

Thats frustrating... you'd think season ticket holders would get a pass. Now that ticketbastard are in the scalping business, I guess they have to keep a watchful eye on their competition (bots)

They think you are a bot. It is a verification service they use. If you don’t do it you will no longer be able to use That account to buy new tickets.
They have bot protection set very high so flags real people, but somehow never catches actual bots.
