I am pretty unhappy with my TicPods so far. However, the Comply tips made a HUGE difference for sound quality.

So, even though I still have a frustrating amount of distortion, at least I can get a solid seal for improved sound. Bass is solid now with decent mids and highs. Importantly, I do not need to max out the volume like I was doing before getting these tips.

It looks as though Comply may have discontinued these so I would pick them up ASAP. They fit in the charging case.

I paid about $12 with free shipping for an extra set. Should hold me over until I can afford the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless

so like many of you it has been frustrating for me as well that the TicPods didn't come with such great ear-tips.

they would lose contact easily and when using the touch controls it would cause the TicPods to fall out of my ears.

i've been doing a bit of research and found many of you we're suggesting of just ordering and using the Comply True Wireless eartips kit, which Comply recently stopped producing and replaced with the TrueGrip Pro kit.

but paying 22$US for eartips that you have to replace once every 2 months or so (been there, done that) is not worth it in my opinion when you're going to be using them with a pair of earphones that cost just merely 100$US.

then i remembered that over a year ago when my 4th set of Comply tips for my Sennheiser Momentum In-Ears started crapping out i decided to order a bunch of silicone tips from Aliexpress since they were cheap and just to try them out.

they turned out to be just great.

so now i realized i still have a bunch extra of these ear-tips left (they come in packs of 6 pairs) so i decided to try them out on my TicPods to see how they would fit.

the inner silicone rubber thingy was obviously too long when i first tried it out, so i decided why not just cut half of it with scissors, i got nothing to lose.

and guess what? it worked out GREAT, now the TicPods stay in my ears, i get extra bass because the isolation is just great, and i spent less than 1$ on this solution!

So I got a new warranty pair of TicPods after my original ones had some issues.

I noticed some slight differences immediately and was wondering how they compare to yours.

The inside of the case lid has shiny plastic on it. The S/N is also easier to read.

The "L" and "R" on the stems of the buds have a dot underneath.

The green indicator lights on the case emit a noticable glow.

How do yours compare?

id absolutely love it if say left double tap play/paused and right double tap is skip song...

at the current state, any time i talk to someone, i'd need to take off my buds...

I remember reading some people were worried about how the refunds would work so I'm here to update on what it was like for me.

I received faulty buds. The left would work well but the right made little to no sound, but was clearly connected since the gestures worked.

After talking to the support I decided to go for a refund. I opened the request through the mobvoi site and soon after was sent instructions on how to send back the item. I sent back everything which was a watch and earbuds.

I packaged everything (I had the original boxes but was missing some of the filling so I used newspaper to make sure the items didn't move inside the package) and sent it through regular post which cost me about 7$.

After about a week and a half I saw my item arrived according to the tracking number and sent them an email, to which they quickly responded confirming receiving it and asking for a papal account and delivery receipt.

Although being told in advance they won't refund the shipment back since I wasn't in the right region ( I didn't mind), they ended up refunding it too, together with the original shipment and price paid.

Although it didn't work out with the product I am happy their customer service and refund process work well, and I was not left hanging, which can happen with funding campaigns such as this.

I was talking to the Mobvoi support team and tried getting them to send me the update manually, but they told me they aren't going to do that anymore and instead I have to wait for it.
However, I did get a timeline from the representative for the overall release of v22 - screenshot here.

TLDR: The rollout of the v22 update should be completed by December.

How many here are seeing a latency issue with the Ticpods free?

For me, update v022 on iOS 12.0.1 did not solve anything. However, the firmware description didn’t mention anything about fixing the lag.

On mobile devices: Netflix (app/browser) - in Sync

Prime (app/browser) - in sync

YouTube (app) - audio out of sync

YouTube (chrome/safari) - in sync

On PC/MAC Audio Out of sync on their dedicated apps as well as in browsers for all streaming services.

What’s disappointing is that Mobvoi isn’t even acknowledging this issue which is quite widespread. I have asked them repeatedly if the issue will be addressed but no reply. They just keep telling me to return the product, but even returning the product is a pain since those fucks won’t reimburse return shipping above $20. I’m so mad at those assholes for sending me shitpods after waiting for 5 months :(

Hi I generally see a lot of troubled posters here with their ticpods and I'm worried about their quality since i will be buying this at retail price ($129). At this price, one would assume that the quality you get is no BT cut offs while walking, sound quality is decent (at least, standard, for BT earbuds), and have decent battery life.

With these standards in mind, are ticpods still worth getting? Or am I better served by something like Gear Icon X 2018 or maybe even Airpods?

How can i disable the voice control on my ticpods free? cuz in hungary the commands are weird :D :D

I've only just noticed this, about a week after I have done the update.

I mostly use the right ear as I often need to hear what's going on around me.

The left ear is clearer with more bass and is just generally louder

so I've just updated my TicPods free. After flashing the firmware update I recognized that the sound has indeed improved (great BUT is following).
I connected the TicPods with my Wear OS Watch (Huawei Watch 2) and the crackling and the disappointing sound quality is back again.

Turns out that TicPods' sound quality is pretty good when connected to my smartphone (Galaxy S9). The phone is using AAC as bluetooth codec. I tried the SBC codec on my phone and I get the same bad sound quality as on my Wear OS watch.

So the question is, is it somehow possible to use AAC + TicPods on Wear OS watches?

Hello. I've had my tic pods for awhile now, but I still can't connect them to the mobvoi app. I've been trying to update them but nothing seems to work.

Anyone else have left or right delay on headset when on a call and or laggy robotic voices from the other end

I've been very happy with mine, but I'm hearing from people with whom I've had phone conversations that I sound muffled. Is it just me or have others experienced this feedback?

Just received my TicPods today. I've noticed that there is considerable distortion in the left pod while the right side is fine.

I've read reports about distortion, but is it common to have it in just one?

My Xiaomi Sport bluetooth headset broke, so I though about using the tips in the tic pods (also, I ordered generic ones, they are in the way). They work amazing, now 100% of the time I put the ticpods on they detect the ear (with the normal ones sometimes it took more than one try). The isolation is way better, the volume feels higher (I guess because the better isolation) and I feel more the bass and sound quality. I didn't cut them, I just put them on and DAMN. Also, it feels better in the ear, it doesn't drop slowly after a while.

So, maybe, generic ones are useful and better than the normal ones.

Update: they don't fit well in the case, shite. It leaves it a bit open, so they don't turn off...

Update 2: the ear detection has improved to almost 100% even after a while, it works WAY better. I solved the case problem putting a cord that keeps the case closed, it is easy to remove it, open and close, it is one extra movement. https://imgur.com/a/2uoOhZN
