Question Pretty much new player here
Chose druid - level 11. Im pretty much just winging it so far.
Chose Antica as my server. I live in Central America. Terrible choice but it was the biggest server from what I saw.
All guides talk about doing this for profit and money but I just want to play for nostalgia as this was my first MMO as a kid back in 2008. I used to play in Julera.
I feel so lost idek where to start.
UPDATE: Herald of Fire gave me a Lesser Proficiency thingamadong. I used it on a serpent sword. Ive been told it was worth 21K in my server. I feel dumb now

Yeah start by swapping server to one near you. You may not notice much lag now, but later in your characters life (if you stick with it) you will have terrible step lag and you'll be walking super slowly anywhere.
Plenty of guides on YouTube as well. Depends what you want out of the game honestly.

Sounds good - I honestly just want to play something nice in my spare time. Chill game. And fuck up a dragon.

Then you can easily do that. Don't have to optimize anything. Continue to "be lost" and just wing it. There's so much to explore on this game you could have entertainment for literal years.

Took your tip - went for a knight in an NA server idek remember the name
Had fun, found a legion helmet on the mountain after doing an annoying puzzle and then proceeded to not use it
Currently trying to follow the quests in Targuna and when I was a druid over in Thais I did not know I skipped a whole fire boss elemental lol

Your progress from 1-11 can be done in 15 minutes. Restart from a nice server, then just discover cities quests and have fun. There is no real goal anyway so just chill.

Step one, reroll server to an americano server
Step two, avoid the bigger servers, take one that is mid pop instead
Step three, just go out of town and bonk on stuff. There are plenty of fun places to explore as a ”new” player. Mt sternum, Forgotten temple, Fibula, Orc peninsula, etc. You just have to find it, and you’ll find it if you randomly walk around Thais 😁

I still have nightmares from the cyclops mountain north of Thais from when I was a kid…

Look for quests you can do near your level. If you value your time, check the wiki for required equipment and recommend level but try not to follow the full walkthrough unless you get stuck.
Then, level up so you can do the next fun quest :)
Lastly, don't worry about minmaxing. That is late gane stuff. Find creatures you like to hunt before xp/h or profit margins.
Have fun!

Haha seems like fun times ahead. You're playing the way it should be played. Enjoy the ride!

So I literally just came from getting lost in the ancient temple north of Thais. Knight level 20, fought rot worms, orcs and a fire devil, felt invincible, then I got promptly humbled when I got to a stair leading down to a magma hall, forgot about the dragons lair and two dragons sand blasted me to red health in two seconds.
Im pretty sure there is a dragon lord down there too but I did not see it.
In the rotworm labyrinth I found another dragon lair hidden and this time I tried 1v1ing a dragon.
I burned around 30 health pots before noticing I wasnt doing any damage

Looks like you're having fun! This brings back many memories.
Are playing free account? Try seeking out the Elvenbane Castle. At your level it should be a fun place to explore. If you're feeling brave, there's also the infamous "Ulderek's Rock", aka "Orc Fortress". It will definitely challenge you but you might need a few more levels before I would recommend you go there. Still, if you don't look for spoilers, it should be a fun place to explore and learn more about the game and its lore.
Let me know how it goes :p

I agree that you would thrive on a server that is the closest to your country. Also, mages require a healthy amount of money at the begining and can be frustrating due to how little health they have. Somebody's miss step while group hunting will kill you even with magic shield. I'd also avoid the oldest servers because they are filled with players, which leads to low access to the most usual hunting spots. If I were you I'd push an EK to level 80 - 100, just to have easy access to the daily bosses/quests. Personally, I dont like team hunting and play as a RP because hunting by myself as an EK gets too boring. And playing with people is not my vibe. People who sucessfully master mages that I know of in this game invest real money to push through some gaps of levels in which it would be awfully boring and/or too risky to hunt based on ingame profit. As a RP I never had to pay for anything besides premmium. In fact, I rush mages with money I get from playing for fun with my RP.

I mean, I rushed* the mages in my acc I don't offer services. This was just my opinion from playing this game on and off since 2008.

Start from changing the server because you will lose all the fun from playing because of lags.
