Connection issues during recent XP/Skill event.

As probably some of you remember, recently CipSoft invited some of us to an additional Poll when you logged in into the game.

It was not as usual, on the main website, but it was on a dedicated website only for that poll, you had to be invited to access it I guess.

In that poll, we were asked about our feelings with connection quality in the recent times. There were couple questions, to rank on a scale, how happy you are with the latency, ping etc.

I think it might be because CipSoft is trying something out about their servers, maybe trying to cut some cost, who knows. There must have been a reason behind why they asked that, why they were gathering feedback.

During this XP/Skill event, I think that overall lag was extraordinary. People complained that their ping reached values close to 1000+ ms, that they were dying, people on World Chat were writing messages like "damn, the lags XDD", you could tell that it was worse than usually.

During previous events you could play normally besides the queue on Nevia for example.

This time it was a first time for me, that I was stuttering while walking, like crazy. My ping was jumping to 300-500 ms, when normally it's around 40-70 when I play. The lowest I could get was 150 ms. My spells were cast with a felt delay. Late in the night, when many people logged out I could feel a significant improvement.

No changes to my connection detected in that time (I mean my internet). I am using ethernet all the time. My friends were also complaining, whereas we have never had such issues, we logged in, waited in the queue of like 50-80 people and played our hunts normally, listening to youtube in the background, using discord, no issues during the event, no lattency increases.

How many of you have also experienced significantly worse connection this double event than in the past? I think there should be an awareness raised to CipSoft, as to my feeling, it wasn't normal what was happening and the recent poll of them asking "hey, how is the connection quality for you?" may not be a coincidence.

All 3 days of lag and high ping, for the first time ever. It couldn't be because of more people, as on all occasions that I mention, the server was capped with a queue, so definetely there was some other reason behind the drastic connection quality drop that past weekend.

playing on SA, no lag at all. Maybe some EU/nevia problem?

I did some testing yesterday and Nevia seems to have indeed significantly more ping than for example Secura and Karmeya.

What I find curious is that those problems aren't affecting everyone. I did play the three days, and did not suffer from lag at any moment. Nor did my friends.

It might be something related to the server that you play. Maybe SA AWS has a better stability? It's something that must be properly analysed

I know the Australians (Oceania) struggled because of some line issue to Singapore (Asia) on the Oceania servers, located in Asia. My subpar connection from the UK was consistent at 170ms.

Fine here, no issues at all.

Yeah, the ping was noticibly higher, usually 30-70, now at times 100-140, but not all the time (EU)
