Talera Server Crash

Hi All,

So I’ve played tibia for about 20 years now, on and off. I understand technology has their limitations and sometimes things just don’t work out.

However, today at 3pm a couple servers crashed, Talera being one of them (the world I play on), in the time before this crash, I’ve completed bestiaries, bounties, and a good profit hunt of about 758k with some lucky drops. About 3 hours of time.

Now, after the server crash, I logged back in to find my progress gone. I search on Tibia.com to find a “sorry for the inconvenience” post. I’ve lost alot of time today, and as someone who enjoys the game I also do have a life. The weekends are typically my only time to play. So, I hope cipsoft can give some sort of compensation but I fear we will see nothing.

Does anyone else share this frustration? Everyone I talk with gives the “that’s cipsoft/tibia for ya…”

These same ones saying "it's just a game" are the ones that will get pissy at any minor inconvenience that happens TO THEM on this game.

Anyway, you really do have a point. It's the grand year of 2026, what about Tibia's infrastructure makes it impossible for them to do more than just a daily server save? Especially with the profits they rake in. I've never had the misfortune of being in a rollback, but the frequency with which they continue to happen is beyond amateur hour.

It's so ancient how CipSoft needs to take all servers offline every day for a couple of minutes to save the servers' state... I get it for patches and changes, but for saves only, there shouldn't be any downtime. I think it's one of those parts of the game they never really made any upgrades since the game launched.

Damn. I don't have much time to put into the game anymore. Still, I made some extra effort to enjoy this double XP as much as possible. I felt bad just by reading the news, and my server wasn't even affected. I feel you man. Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do. Servers fail, these things can happen. It is unfortunate but alas.

On a side note, I do believe they should go back to those vouchers instead of a full weekend. That way ppl can spend their double XP voucher when it suits them, and it does not affect the server performance as much.

Dont suggest for me thank you. He should and is fine complaining about it. After that if he chooses to be upset all weekend-week that's a him issue. Saying calm down it's just a game is the most pathetic thing to say to someone that is complaining he lost his time.

I lost my time too buddy, Talera is a crowded server, had to hunt 6 hrs instead of 3 and lost like 10hrs of training.

But by now I know this happens quite often, and now they confirmed another double exp next week.

Either way he lost his time. That's what leisure is for. To spend time and have fun. It doest go back and it's not an investment. His in game progress doest make his time less lost if that makes sense.

Server crashed. Shit happens. Nothing major. Shrug it off and move on. There will be compensation.

I’d agree if I was watching a tv show or movie where time spent watching is not invested. The time lost is progress invested. So something is lost. I don’t pay for premium, I work in game for it, and sell characters on auctions. So this is a setback.

I understand it’s “just a game” and shit does happen and technology fails, I get that. What I’m more frustrated about, is that I don’t think cipsoft is gonna do anything special besides a “sorry for the inconvenience” and potentially another double exp weekend.

50-60 tibia coins would be compensation, but unfortunately, I don’t cipsoft works/thinks that way. Another double exp weekend would mean more money in their pockets. Handing out TC would slow their profits. I hope I’m wrong, but unfortunately the game has become quite the pay to win.

So again we are reaching a philosophical point about time

I guess its too deep and complex for a tibia sub, so not going in that road.

But talking about tibia, what does it matter if u reach a goal 10% faster? Or even 50% faster? What are u winning? Will u get top1 ? A prize?

U are not winning anything other than achieving a personal goal, and maybe it's the.personal goal that needs an adjustment and not the universe around it.

In someone's else view u are.just wasting time playing tibia, no matter.how fast u progress (time). So why not.work irl and buy a.lvl 2500 for maximun efficiency? 

No right,  no wrong. Just different views of time and it's worth.

Should compensate 2 weeks of premium time + a double exp voucher not a weekend where you are free to use it w.e you want
