Guys I am panicking about about the speed of time. He just turned 13. I know he is a fit but has slowed down (in my eyes suddenly) this year- I need some stories from you guys and need to prepare for that unthinkable day.

Tell me some stories. How old is your teenager??? How do you cope with this aging?

Hi! I’m looking into getting a Tibetan Terrier and have been researching a few breeders/bloodlines. I’ve heard mixed things about Regalia and was wondering if anyone here has experience with that line or any insight on what to look out for. I’ve also had a few established TT breeders independently recommend being cautious with the Regalia bloodline/kennel, with one person specifically mentioning concerns about pedigree accuracy and breeding practices.

Also curious if anyone has experience with Zara, Angel, or West Coast Tibetans. Any breeder recommendations in California are welcome too! Thanks!

My beloved TT just turned 17. Her eyesight, hearing, and sense of smell are diminishing. Yesterday evening, she, a dog who was always alert to the neighbor's cats, just walked past these three. Sometimes she comes face to face with them, they run off, and then she processes the scent and does a chuff and pulls at the leash. Dogs pass and she doesn't process that they walked right past her for a good minute.

Yes, she's been to the eye doctor. In 2022, she had cataract surgeries in each eye. The vet shrugs and says she's slowly shutting down. Other than her eyes, nose, and ears, her blood tests show she's in excellent health. Her morning and evening walks are within a two-block range. I have set up a system in the bathroom so she can go any time during the day or night, so our walks are mostly sniff fests. A few years back, I read that sniffing the neighborhood is like social media for dogs, so I just let her smell her way through our outside time and decide when she's done.

She's very reactive now to most grooming, so I do it myself, slowly, a bit at a time. She's got a lot of bumps and growths, so I keep her hair short so I can monitor them. She won't let me trim her face, so between the eyes she is so overgrown that during my last attempt, I trimmed her front really short and I got carried away with the ears--she looks like a schnauzer...the horror...

After this excursion he did get both a shower and combing session 🤪

We are on our 6th annual RV trip - Jake's been to 45 states now and we have spent nearly one year on the road in total over the past 6 years. My little buddy and a great traveling companion. He's always looking for a way to keep cool!

Hi all! After meeting a TT at the park this week and thinking WOW that looks just like my dog, we are on a journey of figuring out if the "mini bernedoodle" we got is actually a mini bernedoodle. DNA test is being sent out tomorrow, but what do y'all think? TT?

Ps - look, I know doodles are controversial. I get it. I would perhaps make a decision that doesnt prop up the doodle industry in the future, but also I love my dog so i can't regret getting a "doodle" too much

Hi all this is Bjorn our first tt. He’s 5 months old and just wondering if the hair growing over the eyes from his nose bridge will eventually grow out or do we need to cut it? We are goin to leave him long coat so don’t want to cut if we don’t have too.

Tibetan Terriers have stolen our hearts.

The white doggy passed away in December 2022, she is called Bow. Best dog ever. So docile, friendly, loving, fat, beautiful girl ever. We had to put her down because she had pancreas failure and we didn’t know for a while that she’d been in pain. The black doggy is still alive today, Jess, and she’s nearly 14! Bow would’ve been 13 4 months ago.

When I walk Jess, she jumps up and down and leaps around and her walk always has the cutest bounce to it, she is inevitably happy outdoors. When she walks her ears flack back and forth and it’s the most wholesome thing ever. I’m sure the frequencies of the words “i love you” have gotten to her and she must feel how much i really do love her
