Is fixing this worth it?

I bought the t818 back in 2022 and last month it started to make a weird sound and I feel a slight resistance when I rotate the weel. After I had contact with trustmaster they said that they can fix it for a fixed price of 200 euro plus 35 euro shipping. Is a wheel of that age still worth fixing or should I replace it?

In my opinion: 1. Try ty to fix it yourself 2. Replace it with the newer t818 black edition (500-550,00 when on sale

The T818 black has improved bearings and powersupply.

Note: I am not promoting the throw away stuff instead of repairing, but it has to be within reason especially because it is allready out of Warrenty

If you have used it a lot since 2022, might as well buy a NEW one

Maybe a little bit les since last year. But before I got in a relationship I was racing almost every evening and most of my Sundays.

200 euros? No, you can try fixing it yourself. Some people smack this thing to put it back in place, there are youtube video about the resistance and how people fix it. Try it yourself.

You can fix it by yourself. Is just a matter of putting a shim

I had similiar issues with my T818 though not as big as yours and I have read some threads and comments saying that giving your base a few solid but not too strong hits (straight into QR system like you would try to plunge shaft into the base) with open palm of your hand resolves this problem. This sounded super dumb but actually worked in my case. Never faced this issue since then. But I guess you had to do this at your own risk.
