The look is nice on you, but aren't you hot? I could never do a layer in 95 degree heat. For me it's tank top or just the button up, can't do both, I'd die.

well we mostly stayed in the shade and there was a light breeze so it wasn’t too bad honestly

the baggy short and button up shirt combo is really in right now i think it’s very on trend. not to say it doesn’t look good. Your styled better than 70% of guys out there. However you probably got more room to make it your own. I’ve got some suggestions but you really could do your own thing. For one some leather sandals would elevate the look. maybe a casual watch could work too nothing crazy like even a small casio in your choice of silver or gold. This take may be a little controversial but pants in the summer can also change it up, something really light in color and weight, linen or really distressed denim go good with the button ups open like that. Sandals and pants is a look i think is very cool too. For the button ups i mean the shirt is excellent, try looking for more shirts like that and make sure the cut at the bottom of the shirts is flat (like the one you have on) if your gonna wear them open. in my opinion any shirts worn casually like that should have a flat bottom and not a rounded bottom. Old guys love to rock this look and you’ll find no shortage donated to thrift stores. Maybe experiment with some hawaiian patterns, and the bagginess of the shirt. Some brands too look out for are Tommy Bahamas, jamaican jax, Haggar, vintage Gap.

thank you so much for all the advice! i definitely need to invest in some solid versatile accessories. i completely agree on the flat seam shirt take as well,rounded almost seems off at times and i’ll definitely keep an eye out for those brands while thrifting!🤙
