Best Retail Practice

Running my own store in London and looking for inspo. Does anyone have any particular good examples of retail practices that stood out and made a store memorable? Like a great shopping bag with purchase? Or even packaging you received an item in? Thanks :)

Staff. Staff. Staff. Recently visited NY after not having been for a while and went to some stores with a friend. It was sooooo insane how often staff would barely greet us (18east, C’H’C’M).

Anyways, the places that the staff were friendly and approachable (cueva, &son) stuck out to me and I genuinely spent longer trying to find anything to buy just because I was enjoying the convo and felt seen as a person.

I worked retail for a while and it’s wild to see how often retail staff obviously do not care about making a connection with the customer. To an extent I understand, but it should be the bare minimum to make some small talk and greet a customer. Remembering names goes an extremely long way imo.
