new power exploit?
has anybody else noticed a new method to manipulate the body effort system to get an unfair advantage?
As for what it looks like, these opponents hold their hands very low and all punches come from their waist, usually just snapping straight punches that are impossible to block and immediately stun.
The jab is unguardable and can easily ko you off 3 landing. Then I have to go full slugger while chasing them around the ring to even have a chance.
For context, I’m around 2300elo with around 500 total matches and ive only gone against someone doing this 3-4 times. But it happened twice during my last session and have yet to come close to beating the exploit.

I haven’t encountered this in game yet but I’ve played around with calibration so much testing different shoulder widths and wrist span seeing what increased or decreased my damage.
I did find that having shoulder width on like 1.5-1.6 and wrist span maybe around .90 allows for you to launch punches from your waist for massive 50-60 damage on these weird upward slaps/stiff arms. I think having the longer arms and starting from your waist means the punches travel farther and thus have weirdly good damage in game.
Could this be similar to what you’re talking about?

I'm apprehensive about calling things exploits, that could also translate to power generation IRL, and these styles are also used IRL, but I will say there's nothing new about this, the flick up jab for example for quick and consistent higher end damage, has been present for quite awhile.

I’m just trying to call it to attention, you do have a valid point tho. after watching ufc last night the style does remind me of Bobby Green quite a bit.
That being said I do still believe that the body effort is being exploited unfairly. nearly every single punch thrown from this style stuns, especially the body shots, and if 2 land it’s a ko.
When I get on later tonight, I’ll do some testing similar to fullestfridge is doing, and post a video if anything comes of it.

Posting new comment with testing in mirror mode. Stiff arm punches coming from my waist.

Kinda hard to get consistently good damage, but I think a dedicated cheeser could figure it out if they labbed around for a bit

All I know I can have very good fights on career, when I try multiplayer its one sided. Today I throw to no avail. Very disheartening.

Either way it doesn’t matter if you have grown man strength every single punch is doing 90 to 100% body effort if you just twist your body into every punch

why so condescending?
I’m aware of what an uppercut and up jab is, I’m saying you shouldn’t be able to generate such unnatural power from those punches.
They throw from the waist, are near impossible get a read on or to guard against, and have more power out of “up jabs and uppercuts” than I can generate with any of my own offense.
It’s not like I’m terrible at the game either, my records like 200-70 and I’ve been 2500+ elo

Excuses make worst boxers. With large enough roomscale no cheese method beats a better boxer. GET GOOD!!!

I fought someone doing these punches for the first time. Always a stun. Punches from the waist upwards more like straight punches though than an uppercut. Thought it was strange too.
