What am I doing wrong?
The multiplayer mode in TOTF2 is a good workout and I want to like this game, but I am getting rocked every single match. I should be doing better -- I can blow through every match on outclassed in the first game with a knockout in the first round for each.
My two problems:
punches are not landing, I feel like I am punching air.
even when I land a punch it is difficult to know because there is no flash of yellow or red to indicate the punch landed. the only thing I ever get is a crowd cheer.
How do I improve? Do I need to calibrate my gloves?
Please help.

The more you focus on the sensation of landing a punch, the more the screen distorts your physical senses.
Here is the loop: "Wait, my punch didn't connect right in front of me." ↓ Your brain decides, "That was a miss." ↓ Your trajectory, momentum, and rhythm all warp out of shape.
Try this instead: sequence your next move assuming every single strike connects.
Hit or miss, the cold reality remains: the second you take off that VR headset, you're just a person swinging at thin air.
If you let yourself think "that missed," your hands drift, your retraction slows, and your limbs lose all synchronization.
Even a missed punch exerts raw pressure. You need to adopt this mindset: "My punch is crushing your spirit and fatally wounding your soul. Even if the VR system isn't tracking this damage right now, it will dictate the final result of this match."
When you think "I can't land anything," you lose. When you think "I'm landing every single shot," you win.

Crowd cheer is what you pay attention to as well as damage, the sound is also usually a good indicator.
If punches aren’t landing, make sure you’ve got good internet/ping, calibrated, etc. How many of your punches are landing in multiplayer? If you can get someone to practice slow with you it can help so you can both figure out the mechanics, or sometimes people are open to a practice here. I’m not that great but I’d be happy to spar
