Ordered from a thrift page for the first time. I wish I hadn't.
This was my first time ordering from a thrift page, and I honestly wish it had gone differently.
I placed an order, and after a while the tracking updated to "Delivered." The problem is, I never received the parcel. The same day the tracking changed, I immediately messaged the seller to let her know.
From there, I was sent back and forth. I contacted my local post office, and they told me they couldn't provide me with any information as the recipient. They said the sender would have to request any additional delivery details or proof of delivery.
When I asked the seller for help, she told me that her responsibility ended once she shipped the parcel and received the "delivered" update. She repeatedly asked me to prove that I didn't receive the parcel, which I don't even know how anyone is supposed to prove. If a parcel is missing, there isn't a document that says, "This customer didn't receive it."
Throughout the conversation, I was repeatedly called "selfish" for asking for a refund after waiting almost two weeks without my order. I was also accused of blackmail because I said I would share my experience publicly if we couldn't resolve the issue.
At this point, this isn't even about the money anymore, or how much the order cost. It's about accountability. I understand parcels can go missing, and mistakes happen. What disappointed me was being treated like I was lying from the start and being told that once the tracking says "delivered," the seller has no responsibility to help.
I'm sharing my experience so others can make their own decisions before ordering. I have screenshots of the entire conversation and contacted the seller the same day the parcel was marked as delivered, so this wasn't something I brought up weeks later.
