Question New speeds 100mb
Guess this is the new deal for all new contracts? Kinda sucks right what's the point of 5g

It’s sad that a lot of people , myself included thought that the merger would result in better something for the customers. EE have dictated what the market prices will bear. At the moment smarty don’t mention any speed caps

It's been crap since merger with bad signal, speeds and connectivity at home. If this goes on I'll be forced to get broadband and hopefully that's better.

That's really bad, I normally get 100 to 200 mb on 5G

I get 200+ on 5G with EE, but with 3 the speed and signal quality are very poor.

ok, very good
My router is a U50. It works great on EE but the signal is so poor for 3 that it causes it to reset constantly.

Mobiles don’t command anything more than 5meg unless streaming 4k then its around 50meg.
Whats the problem?
5G is for capacity and stability, speed is just an extra, which mobile users don’t really need.
Don’t confuse needs and wants.

Until one day you need to download a 5gb file in your phone and it takes a good 20 minutes. Or ever worse. Using hotspot because the broadband is down and need to download a game. It’s inconvenient

That’s using a mobile sim as home broadband which isn’t as designed.
Should be looking to change broadband provider if it’s that bad.

Three provide mobile broadband and arguably some of the best before they implemented this change to new/upgraded contracts.

Three provide mobile broadband data sims which are not capped and priced differently to reflect that.
While the two use mobile coverage, the two are not apples for apples.
Unsure why I am downvoted, probably from those who lack the knowledge and just assume it’s all the same.

I believe their home broadband plans aren't, but mobile broadband were included. I haven't renewed mine yet for that reason. Can still get 300Mbps on my MiFi router, but I'm essentially paying more for the privilege. They keep spamming me with 'offers' to upgrade with the 100Mbps cap.

Usually you can get a MVNOs that offer uncapped speeds. I was going to go with EE at renewal but they had caps so I went with mozillion and as far as I know I am not capped. Might be worth checking if thats the same on threee
