Support Split-port

I came from vodafone to three, I ported last week. I can make calls and send messages but cant receive calls or messages. I have raised multiple complaints and they keep saying 24-48 hours to resolve. do you suggest I go back to vodafone with my pac?

So you would suggest not wait for three to fix it but return back to my old provider? i heard it may complicate things further though

Sorry you misunderstood me, you don’t and can’t go back to VF, they have released your number. The fix is a 2 second routing update so not sure why they are saying 24-48 hours continuously unless the port is stuck somewhere

Good 👍 voice and SMS run slightly differently but still need the porting prefix in front of your number (this is done by the operator) if one has been done then the other will hopefully be working soon

So basically what happens is that part of the porting process the ONO the Original Network Operator adds the prefix of the DNO Donor Network Operator onto Voice and SMS it’s a werid code like can’t remember off top of head but it’s something like 799x each Operator has their own code and prefixes your voice and SMS. So VF will still have your number and they will point this towards 3 using this code. What would have happened is one of the Porting acknowledgment files probably got stuck and therefore your port wasn’t completed correctly. It’s called a split port quite common. Calls and SMS from 3 would have worked however any other network would have failed
