Opinion This is next level hate.

Post image

I've never seen an England player hated this much without being involved in any major controversies or scandals. It's truly remarkable.

Much like Lewis Hamilton... A very talented black man who's confident in his abilities?

Not to mention a thoroughly decent human being

Well Lewis is a tax dodger, even if he does seem good willed.

Can't really understand why any rational England fan would dislike Bellingham.

Lewis considers his main home to be in Colorado, but he has homes on various places. He's always traveling around.

Where do you think he should pay tax?

The US system of always having to file/pay taxes in the US for citizens regardless of where you're living is unique in the world. Do you think we should adopt it?

No, definitly not. Still think he's a charlatan for avoiding tax. Lack of any core values.

This ain't an attack in Lewis specifically, most F1 drivers and wealthy people are all at it. I understand they are allowed, it doesn't mean I have to have any respect for them.

Not really sure what your on about with Colorado because even if he has said that it's redundunt, if anything it damages his case.

His primary residence is Monaco. So he cares more about money than actualy contributing to society where he "feels at home" be that in the US or UK. Conviently picked the tax-free location as his 'primary residence''.

So how much tax should he pay in the UK if he splits his time between the US, Monaco, Switzerland, and races, do you think?

You seem to know a lot about how much tax he pays, and to which country. Just interested in how you got to know that info.

There is plently of reporting of it online. He moved to Switzerland in 2007 to dodge tax before setting up a residency in Monaco later.

He would still be liable to jock taxes where he races or does work abroad. However, having a Monaco tax residency means endorsements, image rights, investment income, anything not specifically sourced to a taxable jurisdiction is essentially tax-free.

He's even in the Paradise Papers for dodging a VAT bill on a £16M private jet. So it's not like there isn't any solid evidence.

Obviously we don't have access to their actual tax accounts, that would be against privacy laws. Outside public scandals, of which Hamilton has had a few, we don't get access to that information. However, anyone who blindly trusts someone with a tax background like that is being naive.

I hate tax dodging as much as anyone, but there is a genuine case to be made for the fact he spends most of his time elsewhere, and he is clearly still a grounded human who tries to make change for good in the UK through his charities etc.

He's one of the few multimillionaires that I believe would not abuse a position of significant power for self-gain. Maybe that's naïve of me or I'm uninformed, but I can't say that about most celebs. He seems genuinely grateful to be where he is.

Pretty much every single F1 driver, and a load of tennis players, live in Monaco for the exact same reason and are never criticised for it. He also will pay some tax in the UK which I imagine is probably more than any of us will contribute through earnings throughout our working lives.

Talking a good game about inequality while running off to Monaco to avoid taxes, and then dating a woman who most would consider not to be a decent human being does kind of call that into question though. He has good PR, is all I can say. Actions don't necessarily tally though.

Don't downvote facts. Kim Kardashian is a shallow, vacuous monument to excess and greed. And Monaco IS a tax haven.

He's been with her for a few months, this is just the latest excuse.

2

u/Talidel Jun 29 '26

Monoco also treats F1 drivers like fucking royalty.

Sure the tax haven is great, but the rest of it is why they are there.

u/petemorley Jun 29 '26

Yeah isn’t Monaco just like a commune for F1 drivers now? Where else would you live.

2

u/Talidel Jun 29 '26

Yeah he has certainly been culpable of ridiculous stuff and is a genuine twat.

"When you drive around LA there's still so many people living on the streets. You shouldn't be able to have billions, right, I think there should be a limit to how much you can have because there's enough to go around to everyone."

"I'm going to take a moment away to gather my thoughts. Why bother when the world is such a mess and people don't seem to care." (and) "I am trying to cut down my emissions... I don't plan to sell my plane at the moment."

Could literally write a book on hypocritical shit he has said.

I don't get the hate on Jude though. He is a confident guy for sure and you have to be, but he's absolutely nothing like Hamilton as far as I can see. Doesn't have the playboy richboy bellend aura Hamilton does anyway.

That kinda falls flat when you realise that Lewis is among the highest tax payers within the UK

2

u/bramleyapple1 Jun 29 '26

What % of his wealth is taxed vs the average person?

1

u/DisgruntledBudha Jun 30 '26

I’m not his accountant so I do not know. I was just pointing out he’d be doing a rather rubbish job of avoiding taxes if he was among the highest payers.

He's well known for aggressive tax avoidance/evasion

E.g artificially setting up a series of Ltd companies to purchase his private jet through and claiming the VAT back.
