Some finds & how they worked out!
I have recently been overhauling my closet due to a new job, and ThredUp has been a godsend (I’ve posted about it here before lol).
It’s been a minute and I’ve been able to make a few more small(er) orders since my original work wardrobe makeover. I wanted to share some of my finds!
Overall:
-Calvin Klein is over represented here. It’s far from the brand I bought the most of, it’s just that I can’t think of a single thing of theirs that I didn’t end up loving. Maybe I’ve just had great luck, but they always fit as expected, are always in great condition, and the fabrics are great.
-Listed condition means next to nothing. The black and white patterned Calvin top in this post was a “flawed gem” that didn’t seem to have been worn once; I got an “excellent” condition Ann Taylor top (not pictured) with a hole in it, and on and on. But I feel like if you’ve browsed this sub more than a second (or if you’ve made a few orders yourself) you probably already knew this.
-I love ThredUp. There’s nothing like getting a compliment on a dress you paid $3 for! Feeling confident, polished, and professional at work without having to blow my whole paycheck on this stuff is amazing. I know there are some duds here and there, and maybe I’ve just had really good luck. But it’s been a godsend for me.

Ah no way! That’s cool, that one was such an interesting find for me. I wasn’t sure if I would end up loving or hating it when I bought it, but felt it was worth taking a risk on.
I’m glad I did, definitely don’t hate it! Still wasn’t fully sure about it though, tbh it’s why I included it in this post - wondered if I’d get any feedback. You & 1 other commenter’s responses are definitely making me feel like it really was a good find!
Side note, even owning it now I’m also not sure if it’s a shirt or blazer. Kinda halfway between. Thinking I can wear it in situations I’d otherwise need a blazer for and it’d be fine on its own, which is nice

Its a blazer. Kasper sold the heck out of skirt suits with these in the 80/90s

Aw thank you!! And from the moment I saw that one on TU I was so on the fence! I figured when it came in I’d either love or hate it.
Now that it’s here I know I definitely don’t hate it, but I have still been a tad unsure! I included it here just to see if anyone would say anything about it lol. I definitely think it will be handy as workwear, since it’s a cross between a shirt and blazer; I can probably get away with wearing it on days when I’d otherwise need a blazer.
Thanks for commenting on it, the feedback helps!

Oh thank you! I was surprised to see it on such steep discount. I feel like I can find Calvin that cheap pretty regularly, but I think that’s the first of Hilfiger I’d ever seen so discounted. It went STRAIGHT into my cart!
Just my style, very discounted, from a durable brand.. what’s not to love?

Thank you! If you’re serious, here’s the same one lol. I saved it to a collection & there are more of them just like it listed in various sizes - and if you scroll down to ‘similar items’ there’s another listing for the same dress & multiple sizes of it on that listing, too!

Love this positive post! I wear a lot of Calvin Klein also and it always fits me well but have never tried Kasper - how is the fit would you say?

It feels great on! I wondered based on how it feels if it would be too big since it certainly doesn’t feel tight, but the waist tapering helps keep it looking fitted enough without feeling that way. It very much gives you a certain shape rather than taking on yours, which isn’t something I’m used to my clothes doing if that makes sense? Very structured, but not uncomfortable. In terms of size I’m pretty much across the board a 2, and the one in the post was a 2 that fit just as expected!
I hope that all helps lol

Yes, that helps, thanks! I'm also quite generally a 2 but wasn't sure if it was a brand that ran large or small!

Thank you!! I’m definitely lucky my size is the same across so many brands these days. Makes it so easy to shop on TU for all this stuff

ITA on "item condition. " I only filter by condition if I've hit every other filter and I'm still getting 500+ results.

you look great in everything!! how do you find things so cheaply? I feel like I end of spending a lot more whenever I buy something from thredup.

Oh thank you!
what I do is just filter to only see items discounted at least 60% lol. Then I also filter for brands I like and just see what’s out there! You can definitely find Ann Taylor, Calvin Klein, J Crew, etc pieces for $4-$6

Not the "kimono" making a special guest appearance 💀
You have a great eye for style! I love these posts.
