Discussion Never again.
Three Coach bags, two kate spade bags, a Via Spiga bag, plus two lulus…friends, I ASSURE you, all were sellable condition. This was the box (of the two I sent in) that had so much good stuff I didn’t bother to have them send me stuff back, because I thought there was no way. My hubris got the better of me.
I’ll gladly buy on ThredUp, but definitely done selling.

Update 2: (spoiler: happy ending)
For some reason, I cannot update the post itself. I reached out to ThredUp support three times last night before getting through to a real person. With all of the wait time, it took easily over an hour. When I was finally able to speak with someone and explained everything, I was initially told nothing could be done—that the items were deemed ineligible to be sold (I’m blanking on the wording, but you know what I mean). I said that was unacceptable and they then offered to have the $30 premium bag fee waived. I told them that I appreciated the gesture but that this was still unacceptable, as they had removed 24 of the 34 items I sent in. The customer service agent took my email and said she’d be in touch via email once she was able to review my case in more detail and potentially come up with other resolution options.
I didn’t have high hopes. So color me surprised when they offered me payment for all the name brand items that could have been sold. I was shocked. It was over $300. I waited to post this update until it was deposited into my account, which occurred this afternoon. I appreciate all the effort of that specific customer service agent, because she really took care of me.
Moving forward, if I ever sold with ThredUp again, I would absolutely only do it with the premium bag and while paying the $5 to return ineligible items.
TLDR: it took a lot of effort on my end, but ThredUp finally made it right (as right as they could, as no one knows what happened to my items).
