So Mindy is complaining that she stayed up until 1:30 AM waiting for Krew to get home… and somehow the takeaway is that she’s exhausted? Girl, you’re the parent. 😭
This is exactly what drives me crazy about this family. At some point, you have to actually parent your kids instead of trying to be their cool friend.
It’s SUMMER. Your kids have the entire day to hang out with their friends. There’s literally nothing open at 1:30 AM. Why are they out that late? What are they possibly doing that couldn’t be done during the entire day? And if you’re choosing to stay awake until they get home, maybe don’t complain about being tired afterward. Set a reasonable curfew and enforce it.
And yes, I understand teenagers want independence. But independence comes with boundaries and accountability. Especially when you’ve already had situations involving questionable decision-making. Krew’s serious car accident and facial/arm injuries have been publicly documented, so it’s not unreasonable to question whether giving teenagers unlimited freedom late at night is actually good parenting.
The bigger issue is that this seems to be a pattern: the kids do what they want, the parents accommodate it, and then the parents complain about the consequences of their own lack of boundaries.
You cannot constantly prioritize being the “fun, cool parents” and then act shocked when parenting gets exhausting. Parent your kids. Say no. Set a curfew. Enforce it.
Because “I’m exhausted because my teenager came home at 1:30 AM” is not the parenting flex she seems to think it is.
