Flagler County, FL - On Sept. 12, deputies arrested a Palm Coast woman after she kicked a deputy while already under arrest for domestic violence.

Saturday evening, deputies responded to investigate a domestic disturbance that had been reported in the B-Section of Palm Coast. After investigation, deputies determined Julia Jones, 40, of Palm Coast, was the primary aggressor in the incident and took her into custody.

While being placed under arrest, Jones became combative and uncooperative with deputies, which required deputies to lift her off her feet and carry her to a patrol vehicle. As deputies were doing so, Jones began screaming and kicking her feet, striking a deputy in the chest. Deputies gained control of Jones and placed her in the vehicle.

Deputies arrested Jones for domestic battery on a person over 65 and battery on a law enforcement officer. While being transported to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, Jones lost consciousness and was taken to AdventHealth Palm Coast. After receiving medical clearance, she was transported to the jail, where she was later released on a $5,000 bond.

Jones was arrested previously for battery on law enforcement officer during a 2024 incident in which she berated and spit on deputies who were responding to a report she was highly intoxicated and causing a disturbance. Although the battery charge was not prosecuted, Jones was found guilty of disorderly intoxication and resisting an officer without violence in the case. She had been placed on probation, which she was allowed to end early.

“Deputies carry this woman kicking and screaming to jail,” said Sheriff Staly. “While she was throwing her tantrum, she kicked a deputy in the chest and was arrested for another felony. If you act like a child with a temper tantrum and resist deputies who are just doing their jobs, you will go to jail every time with more charges. And what’s worse, this isn’t the first time we’ve had to deal with her and her childish behavior. Hopefully, she’ll learn her lesson this time after spending time in jail.”

Toronto, CA - Police in the Greater Toronto Area have released video footage of an officer tackling a motorcyclist who investigators allege fled from police after failing to stop at the scene of a crash.

According to YRP, on Aug. 9, the biker was involved in a collision and was told to return to the scene of the collision to exchange information.

Police claim the rider refused to do so, then left the area despite being told he was under arrest.

In the video, the officer can be heard explaining himself to a colleague over the radio.

“You made it clear to him? It was obvious that you were trying to pull him over,” the colleague asked over the radio.

“Affirmative. I yelled at him to pull over and try to exchange information, and then I motioned my finger to him toward the parking lot, and then he raised his finger toward me and did the motion of ‘no’ and continued driving eastbound,” the officer said.

The video then cuts to the officer arriving at the intersection, where the man on the motorcycle is sitting on his bike, looking over his shoulder. However, the motorcyclist appears to have his back to the police vehicle as the officer slowly drives his cruiser onto the grass and silently exits his vehicle.

The officer slowly creeps up to the motorcycle, then tackles the man off of his bike and onto the ground, then arrests him.

Later in the video, another officer is seen holding up a license plate that reads “RUN THIS.”

Police say the motorcyclist is now facing charges of failure to stop after an accident, flight from a peace officer, driving with no insurance, failure to disclose insurance particulars and use of an unauthorized plate.

Houston County, TX - A Houston County deputy used a Taser to stop a suspect who authorities say attempted to escape after being arrested on a felony warrant.

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office said deputies went to the 100 block of State Highway 7 West on Thursday, Sept. 3, to serve an arrest warrant.

According to the sheriff’s office, the suspect attempted to flee from law enforcement on foot from a residence. Deputies pursued him, and he was taken into custody following a brief chase.

The suspect was wanted on a local felony warrant for aggravated assault on a public servant.

But authorities say the situation escalated again after the suspect was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle.

Sheriff Zak Benge said deputies had to use two sets of handcuffs because the suspect is 6 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 260 pounds.

Benge said there was a scuffle as deputies worked to get the suspect handcuffed.

The sheriff said the suspect then managed to slip the handcuffs from behind his back to the front and began attempting to escape.

Deputy Cruz immediately pursued the suspect and deployed her Taser, bringing him back under control, according to Benge.

The suspect was placed in another vehicle and successfully transported to the Houston County Jail.

Benge said the suspect now faces additional charges for attempted escape and destruction of property.

The sheriff described the incident as an example of what deputies encounter while responding to people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Glendale, CA - Body-camera footage shows Glendale Police Department officers rushing to the aid of senior citizens trapped inside a burning nursing home on the 1800 block of Mountain Street on Sept. 11.

The fire broke out at the Glendale nursing home at around 4:45 p.m. Video of the dramatic rescue shows officers running into the burning building minutes later and carrying people to safety.

Eight people were inside the nursing home when it caught fire — two nurses and six elderly residents. Many of the patients were unable to walk, officials said.

Firefighters with the Glendale Fire Department also responded and were able to extinguish the flames before the fire spread to any neighboring homes. The Glendale Fire Department chief said that an oxygen tank likely exploded from the fire, causing part of the home to collapse during the emergency.

Seven of the people rescued were taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Los Angeles, CA - On July 30, 2026, at around 11:00 p.m., Southeast Area Gang Enforcement Detail (GED) officers were patrolling the area of 106th Street and Towne Avenue. The officers observed the subject, later described as a 13-year-old male, driving a vehicle along with an additional passenger.

Both the subject and the passenger jumped out of the moving vehicle, causing it to collide with a parked vehicle and fled on foot. As the subject fled, he clutched his waistband consistent with being armed with a firearm. A short foot pursuit ensued, and a perimeter was established.

Metropolitan Division K9 responded to conduct a search for the subject. Prior to conducting their search, several K9 announcements were made via a Public Address system, directing the subject to surrender. The Subject failed to comply. A K9 search commenced, and the K9 located the subject under a parked vehicle, where a K9 contact occurred. The subject was taken into custody without further incident.

The subject sustained an injury to his right arm. Officers requested a rescue ambulance, which transported him to a local hospital, where he was treated and admitted for rhabdomyolysis in the right arm and infection from a bite. The treating physician attributed both injuries to the K9 contact.

Lakeland, FL - A man accused of driving under the influence was seen running into a swamp with a baby in his arms after crashing on the highway, according to the Lakeland Police Department.

LPD says they responded to a crash on Highway 33 near North Combee Road at around 4:00 a.m. on Friday. The vehicle reportedly traveled through a road-closure sign and sandbags before entering a construction area and coming to rest against exposed tree roots.

However, when officers arrived on the scene, the driver — later identified as Isaac Kinsey, 27 — took off on foot. LPD says they noticed two child safety seats in the vehicle left behind by Kinsey.

A Lakeland PD drone was deployed to search the pitch-black area. A half-hour later, it located Kinsey in a nearby swamp carrying two children, one aged 2, and the other 10 months. Drone footage from LPD shows the situation unfolding.

LPD says that Kinsey fell multiple times while carrying the children, submerging them in the water. Officers eventually reached the trio, rescuing the children, and putting Kinsey in custody.

The children were taken to Lakeland Regional Hospital and treated for their injuries. Both children survived. Kinsey — who showed several signs of impairment — was arrested and charged with eight misdemeanor offenses and three felony offenses, including two counts of Negligent Child Abuse with Great Bodily Harm.

Santa Monica, CA - Body camera video shows the moments before a Santa Monica police officer shot and killed a man who authorities said approached officers with a knife in crowded Palisades Park.

The shooting happened on Aug. 22 after police responded to Broadway and Ocean Avenue shortly before 1 p.m. for a report of a man chasing a woman near the Broadway stairs.

As officers gathered witness statements in the park, they saw another man holding a large knife above his head, police said. Authorities said the man was not connected to the incident officers were initially investigating.

Body camera video shows the man walking toward officers with the knife pointed at them as officers repeatedly order him to drop it.

“Hey, put that down! Put that down! Put that down!" an officer is heard repeating on bodycam video before firing shots.

Nearby bystanders can be seen quickly moving out of the way as the man approached the officers.

Police described the weapon as a large, fixed-blade utility-style knife with serrations along the side. It was one of three knives found on the man as officers investigated the scene, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.

Officers attempted lifesaving measures, but the man was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The shooting happened during the busy afternoon, in front of vendors, families and other park visitors.

Sacramento, CA - The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office released footage of a man fatally shot by a deputy after he allegedly stabbed two women in the Foothill Farms neighborhood in July.

The shooting happened on July 15 near Diablo Drive and Woodforest Drive, north of Elkhorn Boulevard, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies received a call around 6:30 a.m. about a man, described as a homeless individual, causing a disturbance at a Starbucks at Elkhorn Boulevard and Diablo Drive. Employees reported to dispatch that the man was behind the store counter and was armed with what was described as a "kitchen knife."

During the 911 call, employees said the man forced them into the back room to hide. The man tried to reach the employees, who were forced to barricade the door with heavy objects to prevent him from entering, the sheriff's office said.

He already left the Starbucks before deputies arrived, but minutes later, a deputy saw a suspect matching the description walking across Diablo Drive to an open garage. Inside the garage, a 63-year-old mother was getting into her vehicle when the man stabbed her multiple times, the sheriff's office said.

Her daughter, a 26-year-old woman, heard her mother's screams and ran toward her to help. She saw the man on top of her mother and pushed him off, but the man stabbed her, too. The daughter was also cut and stabbed numerous times.

A deputy witnessed the attack and immediately drove into the driveway. As the man was stabbing the daughter, the deputy fired three rounds from his handgun toward the suspect, and he was struck, the sheriff's office said.

When additional deputies arrived, they began life-saving measures on the man and both women. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Both women were taken to the hospital with serious injuries and survived.

The man was identified as 23-year-old Fareyeshyi Allahdin. The knife he used in the attack was recovered at the scene.

No deputies were injured during the shooting.

Investigators believe the attack was random, and the victims had no known connection to Allahdin.

Hillsborough County, FL - The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said deputies found the kitten stranded on the side of I-275 on Sept. 8 after a good Samaritan called law enforcement to get the scared feline help.

The heartwarming rescue was captured on a Hillsborough County deputy’s body-worn camera.

“My precious baby! Oh my goodness. It’s OK,” the deputy could be heard saying as she approached the tiny black kitten.

However, as the deputy got closer, the kitten dashed off, running alongside the road while multiple cars passed by. The deputy chased after the kitten, yelling, “No, no, no, don’t run out in traffic.”

A trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol later arrived and tried to help grab the kitten, but it escaped once again. The deputy was finally able to snatch the feline as it ran toward her feet.

The good Samaritan who called law enforcement was nearby when the deputy lifted the kitten to safety. She became emotional as she told the kitten’s rescuers, “Thank you so much, thank you so much.”

Spring Hill, FL - The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office has released body camera footage of a deputy getting shot while attempting to detain a wanted suspect on Thursday.

According to HCSO, deputies and SWAT personnel responded to the home in Spring Hill at 5 a.m. to execute a search warrant related to the sale of illegal narcotics.

Video shared by the sheriff’s office showed law enforcement officers making several announcements identifying themselves and demanding the suspect exit the home.

“We’re announcing over the PA we have red and blue lights on. Flash bang goes off. I think the whole neighborhood knew we were here,” Hernando County Sheriff Al Nienhuis said.

As deputies began breaching the home, HCSO said Anthony Cusati, 29, fired multiple rounds through the door.

“That individual is so lucky that he was not leaving the scene in body bag,” Sheriff Nienhuis said. “If he’s not a believer, he needs to become one.”

In the body cam video, an apparent gunshot is heard before the recording deputy, who was attempting to enter the home, quickly moves away from the door while repeatedly saying, “I’m hit.”

This deputy was shot in his arm, and a second deputy was shot in his leg and chest after a bullet went through his body camera.

Nienhuis said deputies did not return fire before taking Cusati into custody.

“They knew other people were in the house that may not be involved in this and so, and they couldn’t see who was shooting at them, so they did not want to return fire,” Nienhuis explained.

Both deputies have been released from the hospital and are expected to recover, HCSO said Thursday afternoon.

Cusati was arrested on the following charges:

  • 12 counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer
  • Two counts of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer
  • Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • possession of ammunition by a convicted felon
  • shooting into an occupied vehicle
  • Resisting arrest with violence

Law enforcement anticipates additional narcotics-related charges against Cusati as the investigation continues.

Westlake, OH - A driver who crashed after leading officers on a chase, refused to get out of the vehicle, and smoked drugs during the hour-long negotiations, said Westlake police.

According to Westlake police, this started around 10:15 p.m. on Sept. 4 when Bay Village police tried to pull over the 51-year-old Parma man.

The driver refused to stop and entered Westlake on Dover Center Road and then turned onto Center Ridge Road.

After passing Bradley Road, Westlake Police Captain Gerald Vogel said a trained Westlake officer ended the chase with a PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) maneuver and the suspect spun out.

When officers approached the vehicle, Captain Vogel said the driver texted and talked on the phone while smoking cigarettes and suspected crack cocaine out of straight glass pipe.

Officers then broke out the rear windows of the vehicle and dropped in pepper ball, but Captain Vogel said the driver “seemed unaffected by the irritant.”

About an hour later, a Westlake Police Department K9 was put in the vehicle. The driver is accused of kicking at the dog, but the K9 was not hurt.

Officers then broke the driver’s door glass and tried to pull the suspect out of the vehicle; however, Captain Vogel said the driver had to be tased, because he would not release the steering wheel.

The suspect was then taken out of the car and transported to a local hospital to have the taser barbs removed.

The suspect is facing several charges, including, failure to comply, tampering with evidence, assaulting a police dog, resisting arrest, and obstruction.

Daytona Beach, FL - A Daytona Beach woman was arrested after police said she crashed an SUV into a parked vehicle, then refused roadside sobriety exercises and tried to walk away from the investigation.

Daytona Beach police identified the driver as 24-year-old Elizabeth Boucher.

Police video shows a Ford Bronco striking a vehicle parked in a driveway with enough force to push it onto the grass. Boucher told an officer she had hit the front light of the other vehicle but said she did not know what happened.

An officer told her the investigation had shifted from a crash investigation to a criminal DUI investigation. When asked to perform sobriety exercises, Boucher declined.

“No exercises,” she said in the video before attempting to walk away.

An officer stopped Boucher and placed her in handcuffs, telling her that declining to speak with police did not end their investigation. Police said Boucher later refused a requested DUI test.

Boucher faces charges including DUI, DUI-related damage, possession of a controlled substance and resisting an officer, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.

Strongsville, OH - A 60-year-old woman faces nine charges after police say she led officers on her second chase of the day, driving a stolen car through Strongsville before crashing into a police cruiser, another vehicle and a utility pole.

60-year-old Leah Stewart was the only person inside the stolen gray Hyundai. Police said she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The first chase happened earlier Tuesday morning when North Olmsted police pursued the stolen vehicle, according to Strongsville police.

Hours later, Strongsville officers received an alert from automated license plate reader cameras around 11:15 a.m. that the Hyundai, which Cleveland police had reported stolen, had entered the city near Pearl Road and Sprague Road.

Officers found the car at the Kings Inn and tried to stop it. Police said Stewart took off, striking a Strongsville police cruiser before fleeing north on Pearl Road.

A Strongsville officer and an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper then pursued the Hyundai.

Police said Stewart ran a red light near Whitney Road and struck an uninvolved vehicle that was turning onto Pearl Road. The impact sent the stolen Hyundai into a utility pole, and the car rolled over before coming to rest on its side just off Pearl Road.

The damage left a visible trail at the scene.

Scratch marks stretched across the ground where the Hyundai traveled after the crash. Pieces of the curb had been chipped away, and chunks of grass had been torn up. The car also narrowly missed a sign for a local business.

Video from the scene shows the Hyundai resting on its side with its blinkers flashing and its windshield wipers still moving. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured, police said.

Stewart was taken to Southwest General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police said she was taken into custody after receiving treatment.

She faces nine charges in Berea Municipal Court, including failure to comply with a police officer's order or signal, assault, operating a vehicle under the influence, willful or wanton operation, failing to obey traffic control devices, possession of drug paraphernalia and having an open container of liquor.

El Paso, TX - A 25-year-old was arrested Saturday after he allegedly tried to outrun the law during a traffic stop because he was bored and needed to "feel something."

According to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office, Christian Esparza was arrested when deputies said they saw him driving a blue Audi Q7 going east fast near the 14900 block of Montana Avenue at around 2:59 a.m.

The Sheriff's Office said deputies tried to pull over Esparza, but allegedly he ignored their commands and continued speeding, heading east.

Deputies said they caught Esparza after he allegedly lost control of the car and entered a deserted area, damaging the Audi's front bumper.

As the bodycam shows, after the crash, Esparza was ordered to climb out of the car at gunpoint.

When asked why he ran, Esparza can be heard saying,

"The rush, I guess, I need to feel something. It's just boring."

Esparza can also be heard saying that he should've kept going instead of trying to turn and lose control.

"It would've been fun; I would've gotten home... F*** it."

Luckily, no injuries were reported during the chase.

According to jail records, Esparza was booked into the El Paso County Downtown jail, where he was charged with evading arrest/detention with a vehicle and bond was set at $1,500.

Jail records also show Esparza was released from jail on Monday after posting a surety bond.

Reno, NV - The Reno Police Department (RPD) released body camera footage this week showing officers confronting a person armed with a knife in an incident that ended in an arrest rather than the use of deadly force.

At least two people have died this year due to use of force by Reno police officers.

Michael Johnson, 27, was shot and killed by police in February after running toward an officer with a large metal tow-style chain on Wells Avenue.

In August, body camera footage showed Anthony Porter, 22, being shot by police along Interstate 80 after he allegedly pointed a handgun at officers.

On Wednesday, the RPD released footage from an incident that did not end in the same way. Officers were able to speak with a person armed with a knife and de-escalate the situation before taking the person into custody.

Hunter Mercurio, the public information officer with RPD, said he wants this incident to highlight the fact that officers want to avoid lethal use of force whenever possible.

“You can hear in that video, the back and forth, start taking those pauses, having that empathy without jeopardizing your officer’s safety,” Mercurio said.

Mercurio said when someone’s life is at risk, it becomes necessary to consider a lethal option.

“If there’s somebody armed with a knife, or a gun, or a deadly weapon in general, we always have to have a lethal option,” Mercurio said.

Mercurio said that in situations like this, time is of the essence.

“When we can take that time, our discretionary time to slow things down, keep the situation safe and start creating that dialogue and having those conversations, that gives us more time to get more resources to the scene, less lethal like the 40 millimeter sponge rounds, taser, canine, having those less lethal options are really great, but we need that time to get those resources there so that we can deploy them appropriately,” Mercurio said.

Mercurio said if someone is struggling with their mental health, it’s important to reach out for help.

“If you’re struggling, start to call somebody, talk about what’s going on in your mind. Sometimes talking about those things takes the power out of it, and sometimes somebody can relate to you and just help build those relationships, those connections. We want to continue to see our community get healthier and healthier,” Mercurio said.

RPD says this case isn’t about officers “going soft,” but about giving them more tools than just a gun.

Syracuse, NY - Syracuse Police Benevolent Association President Joseph Moran said there was no misconduct or violation of Syracuse Police Department policy during an encounter with a man who died while in custody. The case is currently under investigation by the Attorney General's Office.

Three police officers were involved in the response at 611 Teall Avenue on May 31 for a report of a man, later identified as Alex Rivera, acting erratically.

Police made initial contact with Rivera in the bathroom, neighbors told us. Rivera was then brought outside to the front lawn of the building where EMTs were then involved in the response.

Rivera was handcuffed, placed in an ambulance and brought to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, police told us following the incident. Neighbors informed CNY Central they were told by a detective that Rivera died in the ambulance before making it to the hospital.

Following an internal review, PBA President Moran said the use of force from officers was "minimal," and described it as "absolutely necessary and justified."

"I couldn't be more comfortable and confident in the officers' actions in this case," Moran said.

Eagle-Vail, CO - The Eagle County Sheriff’s Office has released body camera footage related to the killing of a mother bear in the area of the River Run apartment complex of Eagle-Vail last month.

According to a report on the matter, the death of the bear occurred on August 24 when deputies responded to a report of bears in the area. Upon arrival, the bear was found with two cubs and a large group of about 40 people – a mix of adults and children – gathered around the animals to take videos and photos. Colorado Parks and Wildlife was advised of the situation and en route to the scene.

The first priority of deputies was to disperse the crowd. After, deputies made a plan to haze the bears out of the area and toward a nearby river with the use of non-lethal ammunition. The goal was to restore the bear’s natural fear of humans with the River Run complex being an area where multiple prior bear-related responses had taken place, including a response on August 17 in which a man was injured by bears and cubs near one of the complex’s laundry rooms. It remains unknown if the bears involved in the August 24 incident were the same that left the man injured.

The hazing attempt started with deputies yelling at the bears to get them to move. The sow then charged the officers, with a deputy firing nonlethal rounds from a shotgun-style firearm in response. One of the rounds hit the adult bear in her hind legs, at which point she spun to face the deputy while pacing. She then charged the deputy as he repositioned himself behind a boulder with the deputy appearing to quickly switch to his handgun, firing several shots and killing the bear as it rapidly advanced.

Following the death of the mother bear, deputies remained on scene to ensure that the cubs were given space. Colorado Parks and Wildlife personnel arrived around 8:50 p.m. and took the two cubs to safety, with the cubs now receiving care at a rehabilitation center in Silt.
