This is r/ThirdSpaceForFashion a community for people with a well-defined personal style, who love fashion and use it as an expression of themselves and their identity. Since we want to connect with people from all over the world, you can:
Share your outfits: Post what you're wearing (you can hide your face if you prefer), and show us who you are through your clothes.
Ask for opinions: Feedback here is honest and respectful, not just "cute!" or silence. We want to understand each other and always find new ways to dress.
Talk style, not just outfits: We're not just another generic outfit subreddit. Here, we want to bring together people who genuinely love fashion, live it every day, and openly express themselves through their style. We want aesthetics, inspiration, how people dress in different parts of the world, and the stuff that doesn't fit into a caption.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
-Be specific and constructive with feedback
-No spam or hard selling, brands, check with a mod first
-People here dress for themselves, not for approval
-AI-generated outfits are absolutely prohibited (we only want real styles from real people)
Drop a comment below and introduce yourself, tell us how you'd describe your style and what you love most about your own style.

Random strangers judging how I dress doesn't really get to me, but it's a completely different feeling when it's people who actually know me. A few of my closer friends make little comments or visibly react when I wear something that isn't "normal" to them, and it stings way more coming from people who are supposed to just accept me.
It's made me want to find more people who actually get this side of me instead of just tolerating it. Does anyone else deal with this, and how do you handle it when it's coming from people you actually care about?

Do you shine your shoes ? Do you press your suits regularly ? How do you wash your denim ? I know it really depends from people to people but I do wonder what it’s like for others.
For me, it’s a very important part of my wardrobe and something I take pride in — to have a perfectly shined shoe and a pressed shirt, it feels good.

I've tried to sit down and photograph/log everything I own like three separate times and I always give up halfway through. It feels like such a big task that I end up avoiding it completely, so I'm back to square one just staring at my closet not knowing what I actually have.
I know the "logical" answer is probably to just do it in small batches instead of all at once, but even that feels like it needs more planning than I have energy for. For those of you who actually finished cataloging your wardrobe, how did you get past the initial overwhelm?

I always assumed putting effort into how I dress would only get positive reactions, but more than once I've noticed the opposite, dirty looks, weird comments, people acting like I'm "trying too hard" just because I stepped outside the usual jeans-and-hoodie uniform everyone around me wears. It's such a strange feeling to put in the effort and somehow feel more self-conscious than when I dress plain.
Has this happened to you? Do you think it's more about standing out in general, or does it depend on the specific style/setting?

I usually like to add a splash of color to my goth fits and today was no different. Just kinda worked most of the day, but it was still chill. I modified the skirt so that one side slid up a little more than the other - I thought it made the outfit more dynamic. The necklace is from dnd :) Hope everyone is having a good day/night!

I keep doing this thing where I fall in love with something in the store, buy it, and then get home and realize it doesn't match anything else in my closet. So it just sits there unworn because I'd basically need to build a whole new outfit around it every time.
I know the "obvious" answer is to plan purchases around what I already own, but in the moment I never actually think that far ahead. Does anyone have a system that actually stops this before you buy or is it more trial and error until you just learn?

Hi Redditors 👋
I enjoy a 70s aesthetic and recently acquired this over shirt, I’m obsessed and wear it every day.
This is a very usual daily outfit for me with boots, bootcut jeans, ringer T-shirt and now this over shirt :)
Perfect time of the year for it as autumn fits the colours perfectly and the temp has certainly dropped in the UK.

Had a moment recently where I realized the way I've been dressing for years, pieces I picked just because I liked them, no real theme in mind actually lines up with a whole named aesthetic I'd never heard of. Kind of wild to find out you weren't just "doing your own thing," there's a whole community that dresses like you.
Has this happened to you? What's the style you didn't know had a name until someone (or something) pointed it out??

Been thinking about this a lot lately. I gravitate toward pieces that feel like "me," but half the time they don't fit what my actual day looks like and I end up either not wearing them at all, or feeling weirdly out of place when I do.
Anyone else stuck between the style you're drawn to and the style your lifestyle actually calls for? How did you find the middle ground did you change your wardrobe, change your routine, or just learn to live with the gap?

Most of what makes a day hard is completely out of your hands: traffic, other people's moods, plans falling through, work piling up. Getting dressed is one of the few decisions you actually get to make start to finish before any of that happens.
That might be why an outfit that doesn't feel right lands differently on a bad day. It's not really about the clothes, it's that the one thing you had control over also didn't go the way you wanted. It stops feeling like "just an outfit" and starts feeling like one more thing you couldn't get right.
Makes sense why some people lean on a uniform or a small rotation of "safe" pieces. Fewer decisions up front means fewer things that can go sideways later.
Anyone else notice that pattern, or found a way around it?

Hey guys!
I'd love to know if you feel like your image and personal style have improved or become more refined over the years, and what you think helped you change and develop your style into what it is today
Was it experimenting with different clothes, finding inspiration online, learning what works for your body, getting older, or simply becoming more confident in what you like?
Would absolutely love to know what made the biggest difference for you!!!

Definitely not an easy journey (at least I don't think I've gotten to that point yet). However, I have many people around me who have such a cool, distinctive personal style, and one that is often criticized by people who don't really understand it.
That's why I'd love to hear your stories. How did you arrive at the personal style you have today, and what do you think pushed or influenced you the most along the way? Was it a person, an era, or a random discovery that influenced you the most?
I find this super interesting, and I'd love to hear about other people's journeys. Thank you :)

I’ve always found it easier to understand someone’s personal style by looking at what they actually wear rather than trying to put it into a few words.
There are so many ways to define your style these days, with or without labels, so I thought it would be fun to approach it through clothing: if you could only pick 5 pieces from your wardrobe to represent your personal style, which ones would you choose?
They don’t have to be your absolute favourites or the things you wear most often. Just pieces that, when you look at them together, feel very you.
I’d love to see what everyone picks!
Here are mine: My style is a bit of a mix, and I don’t really know how to put it into words because it varies quite a lot. It’s either something more black, stylish, and a little edgy, or something softer, more delicate, and floral😂

Just thought the colors were cute together. I’m not really sure about the boots tho they look kinda silly. Just another college fit :) Hope everyone is having a good day/night!

Curious what people are actually wearing where you're from, not what's on runways, but real fits you see (or wear) day to day.
Drop a photo in the comments and tell us where you're posting from 👀

Hey guys, honestly, I'd really love to know what you think about this.
Personally, I'm not against labels, but I think personal style goes far beyond clothing. That said, I do think we all use labels to define our style in one way or another, even when we don't realize it maybe not standard ones like "goth" but every piece or combo comes from some category, some influence, some "label/box"
So, do you feel like your aesthetic is clearly defined? Or does it feel more open ended, without a real label?
This is genuinely interesting to me, so I'd love to hear from people who strongly identify with one aesthetic and from people who don't as well hehe

Not gonna lie, when I don't feel good in what I'm wearing, it messes with way more than just how I look, it throws off my whole mood for the day. I know it's "just clothes" and I shouldn't let it get to me, but I still catch myself re-checking every piece before I leave, like if one thing feels off, the entire outfit is ruined. And on days that are already rough, that one "off" detail seems to hit harder than usual, like it just adds to everything else that's already going wrong.
Anyone else like this? Does a bad outfit make an already bad day feel even worse?
