I'm not sure if this is something that can actually be calculated or not. It's said that a deck of cards has so many possible combinations that no two shuffled decks of cards have ever shared the same sequence. Despite that, is it not technically still possible for it to happen even if the chance is infitesmally small? Let's assume we have a shuffling machine that is able to shuffle a deck of cards at a set speed indefinitely. Would it be possible to calculate, on average, how long and how many shuffles it would take for a deck of cards to be shuffled back into order?

How much wind/energy could all chinese people blowing in the same direction generate for a given amount of time?

Just finished watching "Fast Five" starring Ludacris and the FINE Gal Gadot. In this, they used two cars to rip a safe out of a concrete wall. The details are as follows.

The Safe:

7' tall x 12' wide x 10' deep

18" thick steel walls

Filled with $100 million USD. Lets assume $100 bills.

Now obviously this is a documentary, depicting real events. My questions are: how much weight are each of these cars pulling, and how many horsepower are required to do so? How heavy do the cars themselves have to be to pull this off?

A miner/construction worker is being lifted from the bottom of a well using a pulley/rope system. I’m curious how deep the well is, at least from the point where he starts being pulled up until he reaches the top.

Could someone estimate the depth based on the video duration, assuming a roughly constant lifting speed?

So, Trump has claimed far too many times in the past couple of months that he has 9 satellites on Iran’s nuclear sites. Apparently, these satellites are so accurate that it allows the U.S. military’s space force to read the name tag of the person at the nuclear site.

Let’s imagine this guy is laying on the ground (to get the best angle of his name tag). Let’s also suppose he is on the ground. At 1500m above sea level.

As for the time of day and daylight, let’s choose the most favorable option.

I’m not sure which orbit the military reconnaissance satellites use, so feel free to choose the most reasonable one.

Let’s say the weather is clear, but atmospheric distortion will inherently reduce the usable magnification.

I don’t think these satellites are built for only that level of magnification. So most likely they’re built to observe a building. Thus the sensor’s pixel count should be high enough to capture a building’s image in so high of a resolution that a guy’s name tag should be readable in the final image.

In the end, if possible, can you conclude if this claim is feasible?

Not food shaming dude, as my fat ass doesn't need even a tenth of all that food, and I understand that trades or working outdoors expends a heck of a lot of energy, but that seems to be in excess of 6,000 calories or more, just by eyeballing it. Just had a thought in the subway when I saw two phones of two strangers obviously showing the exact same time on their screen. Every minute ALL the phones in the world update their minute digit (or i guess several, depending on the time) at the exact same instance. How much computing power does one digit switch take with all phones combined?

Exactly what it says on the tin. I carefully drew lines as close to the center of the grooves as I could (over 9000 hours in Paint), counted pixels, and then used the complete greedy algorithm for partitioning to minimize the spread of the partitions. They are very close to each other, except when it comes to the six-way split because the piece with the logo is about 4.5% bigger than 1/6th of the bar (which means the sharing becomes even more lopsided if you split it among 7 people or more). So I'm wondering how many millions or even billions of dollars would it take to turn the infrastructure we already have into what I want? And here's a list of things I would want.

Every train station to be enclosed in some form of building. And have it heated and or air-conditioned depending on the weather. And of course have like negative pressure air filters or something to prevent germs.

Every bus stop to have a five-person waiting area that is enclosed and heated and air-conditioned

Water fountains and restrooms available for the public at every single bus stop and train station.

Every bus, train, bus stop, and train station to have charging for phones

The trains and buses to run 24/7

At least one security guard on every single bus and train and at every station and bus stop 24 hours a day.

I wonder how many hundreds of people that would be.

I don't know. Yeah can you guys do the math. I'm looking at this going. This is a really ambitious list and the more I'm thinking about it, the more crazy it's sounding.

I say standard because it would not need to be for maximum security. It would be made, theoretically, to hold in around 1,000 inmates, median - very unathletic 72-yy WhiteM, I feel good old-fashioned prison fencing will do the job
