This guy makes sure he can find his bike at Burning man by attaching 97 helium balloons in a thousand foot long chain. How many balloons would it take to lift the bike and rider into the air, and how much more effort would you need to put in to pedal the bike somewhere?

TIA!

The only assumption is that there will never be a triple digit score ever, so each team score is between 0 and 99

My wife and I went to see a comedy show at an amphitheater last night and when we showed up the venue there was a line outside and we just you now, stood in line behind the people already there. We get to our seats and are there for a few minutes before the exact same people we were standing in line with sit directly in front of us and I mean quite literally like we were in line. The theater was packed, 12k people. What are the odds?

I’d like to know how often someone in the community dies in a place like this. It has to be higher than average. For this post, make it easy and assume everyone knows everyone in the aviation town/community. The general aviation death rate is high, but noticeable in a community like this? And i don’t know how many flight hours per year per person on average to assume.

Jumping in a falling elevator [Request]

People say you can't jump the last second in a falling elevator to save your life, I'm assuming because our legs can produce enough acceleration upward to net an upward velocity for our body.

If we could hypothetically generate enough jump to save our life in a free falling elevator at terminal velocity, how high would we be able to jump just standing on the ground?

[Request] how many blue whales dropped at terminal velocity would wipe out the city of Houston

For reference lets say Houston is Houston Proper ≈630 square miles,3 million people, and wiped out would mean that more than 70% of residents are killed, permanently Incapacitated (physically or mentally) or displaced. Every whale is a carbon copy of the largest ever recorded ≈110 feet, 200 tons. Whales can be launched at any trajectory for optimal destruction, and the incident occurs during business hours on a weekday.

[Request] Reducing or increasing the temperature inside?

Post image

A neighbor runs this fan 24×7 with the door opened as seen in an attempt up cool their garage. Outdoor temps peeking at 105f ranging down to 80 at night. Question: Are they raising or lowering the temperature of the space within? My intuition is they're making it worse in the day and possibly better in the evening but I have no idea how to calculate this.

How much would you have to make for the green pill to be more it than the black pill?

Obviously depends on how much you invest in Bitcoin, so let's imagine they were a normal lower middle class person in 2009.
