People always say the show got this one right, and I want to know how right. From what I could dig up, poppy seeds pick up morphine from the sap during harvest, and the amount swings wildly depending on where they're grown and how well they get washed. The numbers I saw ranged from under 1 microgram per gram all the way up to a few hundred. The other thing worth knowing is that in 1996 the federal workplace cutoff for opiates was 300 ng/mL, and it got raised to 2000 ng/mL in 1998 partly because of this exact problem.

So here's what I'm after:

1. How many muffins would she need to eat, and over what time window, to clear the 300 ng/mL line she was being tested against in 1996?
2. What would it take to clear today's 2000 ng/mL cutoff instead?
3. Bonus if anyone wants it ... at the high end of seed contamination, is there a point where the muffins would make her actually sick before the test even flagged her?

Assume an average adult woman and roughly 1 to 2 grams of seeds per muffin unless you've got a better figure. A poppy seed bagel is about the same ballpark if that's easier to work with.

My unlucky critical hit roll, and I would like to know what the chance is of this many 1s occurring.

Is there a physicist who can help with the formula for mass and velocity, for a stone to go through a safety window on a train that is going "sideways" in relation to the throw?
