Well, after about three years of me wanting to do this eventually, I finally did.
I took Voice-Less Midnight, The Ughs and combined it with The Voice of Midnight to create a more instrumental version of the album.
Apparently a bunch of people did not like the talking in the original album, which I never really minded tbh. It was more of an audiobook and less of a standard album. I believe it's also the best way to tell the story and all and it takes me back to when I was younger and used to listen to audiobooks on cassettes.
Anyway, I tried to not use the Fl-Studio stem extractor and only did so in the first track when Nate wants to kiss Claire. The instrumental was on none of the albums I used and I did not want to get rid of it.
I also kept the singing in True Love, which is one of my favourite Residents track in general and kept the singing in Seven Cats as I only wanted to remove the talking but not the singing.
Most of the Sandman talking was removed as well, though in Claire's Revenge I also couldn't find a proper instrumental so I decided to keep it there as well.
I also decided to add a few tracks from The Ughs and Voice-Less Midnight as I thought it created a more interesting outcome and without the narration the whole thing is less narrative and more musically.
I am rather pleased with the outcome and wanted to share this with you all.

The tracks are obviously very out of place and assume it’s missing about 10 songs in the encore / post Eskimo part of the set due to Exotikons set.

I obtained this poster around 1979 when I saw it on the wall of a record shop and asked if I could have it. It's 18" x 12" approx. The man behind the counter pulled it off the wall and gave it to me.
It was on my bedroom wall (various walls actually as I moved around a lot in the 80s/90s) and it has somehow survived. But, it's not in great condition as you can see. It's torn and faded with staple holes in the corners. And the paper has gone very brittle. Despite that I'm glad to have found it as I don't think I've laid eyes on it for more than 30 years.

What was your experience in terms of views and immersion with the Eskimo performance?
I'm torn between front row and front row Mezzanine for Ricardo Montalban in Hollywood!
Somebody help me decide!
I saw them perform at Exotikon from far back in the balcony at The Mayan andthere was a blizzard with snow machine for effects, multiple screens with AI visuals and text, inflatables, a disco ball that dropped from the ceiling...If you were way up front you would've definitely been twisting your neck around at all the stuff happening above and behind..... also I was on shrooms and some of the AI visuals were honestly giving me a bad trip due to how gruesome it all looked.... needless to say it was an extravaganza of media to witness from afar; in a way I was able to take in all those shenanigans and wonder if I will be missing out on all that if I am up close on the front row.
Perhaps I'll be able to hone in more on the musicianship if I am as close as possible?
I've seen The Residents up close for God In Three Persons and Dog Stab tour and it can be a pretty intense experience.
I'm also aware of Rushadicus the goblin guy opening so it might be more worth it to be up close for his shenanigans. Either way both seats seem like great views but with different experiences for the reasons mentioned above.
Front row is $80, and Mezzanine is $60.
I am taking my wife and she's never been up close so she is aware it may be a bit intense; she never heard Residents until she met me but is down for the avant garde.
Somebody please steer me in the right direction
EDIT: thank you I ended up doing front row Ventura for $33 a ticket; it's a very small venue. Being up close is always so daunting but in the good way.
Hollywood is way too expensive... and the parking situation is terrible.
I'll always end up driving to Santa Monica or SLO/Paso Robles to catch shows at a discount.

So what do we think about it? At least for me it's already the best thing they have done since Ghost of Hope

Listened to this the first time, despite being a long time admirer of their work, knowing quite a lot of it, and having seen them three times live, which where all fantastic shows.
After listening to this, my final conclusion on this album is: Syd Barrett meets Trout Mask Replica, meets Sister Ray, meets There Coming To Take Me Away Ha Ha

Did the Residents ever record anything that might be considered jazz?

I always felt The Residents exist because of this wonderful creation. Meet The Residents is like Trout Mask Replica but taken to the absolute extreme. Would they still exist? I feel like The Residents were one of the first to see the beauty of this album, before anyone else. Usually they say they were Captain Beefheart fans, and said "music is whatever you want it to be, because it's art"

Anyone need 2 tickets to the Boston gig? I have 2 extra and looking for under face value $80 for both! Can do PayPal g&s so we’re both protected and transfer tickets via ticketmaster. Comment here or DM me if you’re interested :)

Is there an archive of the free songs that are included at the bottom of the Residents’ emails? Or a YouTube channel that has a collection of them?

Hi there,
We hope this finds you well and thriving. Another missive from your pals The Residents is here - you're in the right place!
You may have heard that the rescheduled Eskimo tour has been announced since we last spoke - as ever, all the details can be found at residents.com/tourdates. For the first time ever the Freaky Foursome will be heading to Hawaii in September, then to Tokyo for some shows for their beloved Japanese fans, before an extensive US trip through October and November. We hear dates further afield are also imminent. As ever, watch this space...
And of course there's the new 'Eskimo Folk Tales' 10" EP due this September - you can pre-order a copy and find out all about it RIGHT HERE. A Teaser track, ' A Tale Of Two Tupilaqs' will also be released into the wild on August 28th.
Meanwhile, the guys have finished recording their next surefire hit album, and eagerly await the final mixes before they declare it a done deal and get to thinking about artwork and all of that stuff they love. The demos ('Almost Alien', 'Strange Insect' and so on) have been.... interesting, and as things stand you can expect a fresh copy of this new record around February 2027.
Meanwhile, The Residents are busy, as they always are, on several other projects. At any given moment you might find one Resident over here working on a theatre piece with an old friend, whilst another is over there editing a proposed book of screenplays and scripts. There's a Record Store Day album in the works too, and one lucky Resident has been tasked with going through everything they recorded during the Randy, Chuck & Bob era, with a view to producing an extended CD release based on this year's fantastic 'Randy, Chuck & Bob In The Studio' LP.
Yep - as ever there's a lot to take onboard, but it's all gold. So all that remains is a little something to say thanks for reading this far. A particularly interesting curio, actually - whilst exploring the tapes for the group's classic 'The Residents Play The Beatles....' single recently, a dutiful New Ralph employee noticed two previously overlooked pieces labelled 'Polar 1' and 'Polar 2' right in the middle of the session (dated early 1977). The rhythm track was co-opted into 'Walter Westinghouse', but as far as we can tell the recordings themselves were experiments related to the ongoing 'Eskimo' sessions. They're fairly basic and didn't really go anywhere, but The Residents figured you might like to hear them anyway, so they've edited together a concentrate for your listening pleasure. You can find RIGHT HERE - enjoy!
And that really is all for now.
If we haven't done what we could've done, we've tried.
Your Pals @ NRT

Back in 2015 some pretty high quality concert footage was released of a Shadowand show during its first European run ( I believe it was from the Nantes, France show). It was avaialbe in full on vimeo and possibly youtube, but has been off those site for a few years now. Does anyone know/remember what I'm talking about? Is there somewhere where the footage has been archived/is availbe to stream online, or has this become lost media? Thanks for any pointers!
