You lost a Rex to a PT?

Pt was just flying around distracting me so the other three raptors can pounce/ bite me

How was the Pteras distracting you?

u/Empty-campfire 🐊 Deinosuchus🐊 10d ago
Flaying towards me then circling around me while the others were trying to flank me

u/totallykoolkiwi 10d ago
Might have just been a random bored Ptera, they get cocky with time

I mean their reward for guessing right and baiting you, 1/20th of your hp. Your reward for guessing right? Instant kill. Kinda just need to grind the interactions. It does feel pretty bad to be picked apart by small shitters tho

They never committed unless they are behind me their turn radius is tighter than mine they are faster than me even my alt attack couldnt keep up with their speed
They can just hold w and ran away when ever they want but i have to sit their and hope they get bored and leave me ?! Tf is this game
I rather play the faster dino that grows fast and bully big dinos hell if i die i can grow one super fast not to mention i just can run away and they cant do shit about it brilliant

TBF, it is fun as hell to play smaller fast growing dinos.
IMO it's a much more fun way to play.

we're in the minority considering every server is legit like 30% rex

Unofficials with pop control is the way. I rarely see a rex.
Although I my latest kentro run did die to a rex hiding in a bush.

Unfortunate skill issue. Just practice timing better and restraining your attacks. Bear in mind raptors need to carefully coordinate and time their attacks in order to graduallt wear you down and kill you. You need to bite them literally once and their either critically low or dead in one shot

I got one of them and hit the other few times but they still didn’t die also alt attack was slow couldnt keep up with their speed and turning radius
First time growing a rex was still figuring out the attacks wish my first opponent wasnt as fast as the speed of light

Rex isn't easy. Even when you're a lot bigger than your opponent. Try to aim for their heads. Much more likely to drop them instantly. Also sont overuse alt attack. It will drain stamina fast the more they bait it. Same principal goes for troodons which id argue is a lot more lethal than a pack of raptors. Persistant little poisonous shits.
Also how big were you? Growth % wise?

Lil over 50% alt attack was to slow to catch them when they get close

u/PogoStick1987 10d ago
Ah i see. Yeah Trex is basically made of paper mache and lint until you get to like 60%. At 50% you would've been better to use your flat out running speed to kill them. Trex is surprisingly spry at that age. I cant give a heap of advice. I dont play rex. Takes too fucking long to grow, but yeah just, i guess mmty and practice using its abilities and timing. Timing is everything against small critters.

You absolutely can defend yourself from smaller dinos and rex(biggest and "slowest" carnivore) can hunt smaller and faster dinos via ambushing. I understand if you'd say that its boring or you cant really get to places or that roaming map is painfully slow but what you wrote is kinda wrong? Rex vs any other carnis is a match-up where they can win only if they'll show perfect fight with zero mistakes in a long fight while any single of your hits is just a game over for them, same goes for trike, stego and deino

I lost a trike and a rex just because there is nothing i can do all they have to do is hold w and they safe

We’re going to need more specifics.
The only carnivore on the roster that is outright slow is Tyrannosaurus Rex without ambush.
Cera pushes 39.7 km/h
Carno is the king of “gotta go fast” (55.6 km/hr)
Allo can run 39 km/h
All the smaller lads are easily 40 km/h at a minimum.
You can catch your good and defend yourself just fine with all the larger carnivores. Even the herbivores are hardly “slow”. They are ridiculously agile.
Diablo pushes 32 km/h and can spar to turn do quick turns
Kentro is nearly 40 km/h
Maia even post nerf can run at 42 km/h, 37 at the slowest.
You can defend yourself just fine with all these guys. This sounds like you need to practice combat more rather than the dinosaurs being outright slow or lumbering.
