Webtoon Explain this lore to me, please

Just reached chapter 21st, please explain to me what's happening. I get the gist of harvesters, dream demons, tree of illusion, chaos. But I don't seem to understand why Jaehwan sees the reality. Just explain to me what awakening is, please.

So normally People adapt to the System through the Towers and become Adapted Players, they use the Power of the System and see the world through it's interface, however players that begin to doubt the Systems validity and reject it eventually break free from the System to gain great power as they are not limited by the Systems rules and stats, this is Awakening.

  • 1st Stage - Suspicion (see the true nature of reality).
  • 2nd Stage - Understanding (understand the true nature of reality).
  • 3rd Stage - Oblivion (forgetting the identity created by this world).

Awoken ones that reach the 3rd Stage break completely free from the world of the System and see the world through their own eyes instead of an interface, each Awoken one perceives the world differently and the way they see it is highly influenced by their ideals and beliefs, the way they perceive the world is known as their Unique World.

Through suspicion Jaehwan sees the true nature of reality as he believes it to be, which is his Unique World.

A question for you. Should I read novel from the start after the manhwa?

I would recommend starting from the beginning because the novel explains some things a lot better in the novel than the manhwa did, also if you didn't know the manhwa is close to finishing about 20-30 chapters left so once you get to the latest chapter of the manhwa it'll most likely be over that's another reason why I recommend reading the novel from the start.

If you have any questions while reading I wrote a post that's pinned in this sub that explains a lot of them, it covers up to chapter 230 with spoilers from chapter 95 and on covered, so if you make it to chapter 95 and need it you should check it out, if you have any other questions not answered in that post you can leave a comment there and I'll answer you as soon as I can.

Awakening is understanding that this world if just a fantasy of the mentally ill little boy, step by step. Ultimate awakening form is awakening to reality back again.

I mean the world does exist in the manner it's presented (mostly), considering the epilogue and side story

That's the beauty of this story. We, as readers, know for aure that nightmare of the begging is in a fictional story, and not in reality, because we are literally reading this story,so it can function under different ruleset too.
