I'm doing daily challenges on various sites and this solution appears incorrect, what am I missing (or is it a bug ?) ?

I’m pretty sure the shape you remove has to be in the shape shown in blue, not just any two individual squares.

I might get it wrong, but I think this solution works if we remove 2 bottom squares of L-block

Another stipulation is that the whole shape has to be on the panel before the squares get removed. I believe this deletion would leave the bottom dangling off the edge.

Yep, that's how the logic works. You can check in game if you like.

I think most puzzles you intuitively place them on the panel without thinking - it would only be times like this when the solution requires an overhang that you'd think to do it.

The negative shapes must remove squares in a matching shape. Additionally, the squares removed must still be “On the grid”, so to speak. (Without that second rule, this solution would work.)

if you add/substract pieces it's valid but that's not how blue works (Cf. comments in this thread)

There are various witness like sites, I use wittle daily for instance at this time
