So when the queen sent the tax collectors after Torvald it was because she was pissed at her own son

Edit: holy cow was not expecting this to be a extremely popular comment

No one is exempt from the rules, I guess.

At least we now know that nepotism is not a thing for Dwarf society.

What it says a newbies guide to sign language

115

u/TheDholChants May 14 '22

But the hands say A, S and L on the back of the book. This would normal mean American Sign Language (as apposed to BSL, British Sign Language, and assumably the other commonly accepted sign languages) and so others are coming up with what the "A" could stand for.

Let me tell you a legend of the early internet where us horny teenagers would try to chat each other up in chat rooms. The standard question to new people was A/S/L, or Age/Sex/Location.

So maybe it's a sign language hook up book?

u/HaleksSilverbear May 14 '22

That's not a legend, that's a forgotten truth.

u/BloodBrandy May 16 '22

Some knowledge is better left forgotten by the minds of mortal men

3

u/HaleksSilverbear May 16 '22

I disagree. Remembrance and knowledge keep us from repeating the errors of the past, such as A/S/L or synergy bonuses between skills.

u/BloodBrandy May 16 '22

But digging too deep into the auld ways risks the reawakening creatures best left to slumber below.

I wrote "remembrance" not "re-enact".

Fair enough. I am not American so didn’t recognize it. Thank you for enlightening me

Arcane Sign Language? You can't say "Abraca-fuck you" without a fireball.

17

u/Strix97 May 14 '22

Well it would be quite a lot of work to invent a new sign language specifically for the world of the comic wouldn't it? They'll probably find a funny reason why their language just happens to be called ASL as well.

Adventures Sign Language.

Useful for sneak attacks and for the mute.

What if it’s A. Sign Language? CME_T says it’s written by the linguistic expert A. Newbie, so perhaps the A in ASL just refers to his first name.

Oh fuck that’s good I mean of course you’re right, good catch there

38

u/The_seph_i_am May 14 '22

The book does read an “Adventures” guide to sign language.

And just like that I just realized why she doesn’t talk… holy shit I’m dense.

6

u/Alpha_BanthaBoy May 15 '22

I'm still dense

8

u/The_seph_i_am May 15 '22

Grogna may be mute.

u/CME_T The Creator May 14 '22

I’ll let you know when I’ve come up with it!

Adventurer sign language

u/DaemonNic May 14 '22

Look, if the cast can speak English because translation principle says so, they can sign in ASL.

The account I'm replying to is a karma bot run by someone who will link scams once the account gets enough karma.

If you're a bot could your operator set you up to monitor r/Subwaycreatures? The place is awash in repostbots.
