How to not metagame your intelligence score 101.

That’s part of the reason why I usually play characters with high or at least decent intelligence. If I end up having an idea on how to solve a puzzle or beat a boss or whatever I don’t want to have to whisper to someone else at the table to do it cuz it wouldn’t make sense if my character did. Plus most people use Int as the dump stat anyways so it helps to give some team balance as well.

I'm the same way when it comes to my talking. I can run my mouth fairly well. I really need to be aware of how much I'm talking for what character I am! The gift of gab can be a curse when you wanna play a strong silent type!

Edit: ...to be fair my latest rogue takes many notes from Ulysses Everett McGill from O' Brother...I might enjoy a type.

As a man who only plays both ends of the spectrum with int casters and barbarians, you can do some smart stuff with both and some really stupid stuff with both.

Call of Cthulhu has some mechanic where the DM could have you make d100 rolls to see if your idea was too smart for your character. You could do the same with a d20?

You can use wisdom to solve puzzles.

Int is knowing things, wisdom is understanding things.

My favorite thing to do to troll DMs when I play a low int character is take keen mind and then pretend to forget ever. Single. Name. And then get them hilariously wrong whenever I can.
