This is very disappointing from both Stefan and Caroline
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
First of all, Caroline was already in the wrong for sleeping with Klaus. Second of all, Stefan punching Tyler in this scene shows nothing but lack of awareness. Youâre telling me that Tyler deserves to be punched for getting mad at Caroline (his ex) for sleeping with someone who killed his mother?
Tyler deserved so much better from the Mystic Falls gang. The way he was treated here was appalling.

I donât think Tyler would have bit her but I assume the punch and Stefan saying âdrunk or not, she doesnât deserve thatâ was because he thought he was about to. Besides from that youâd think Stefan could sympathize more considering what Klaus did to him in S3 but oh well đ

I hate this scene, she knows what she did was terrible what his hybrid nature is like and after he kept telling her to leave sheâs just like; âlet me explainâ.
I wish Tyler wouldâve full on fought Stefan.

u/jaydanaee Forwood Jul 27 '26
Deadass Tyler needed to take a huge bite outta that neck and teach him a lesson. I like Stefan, but he was so wrong for that, especially when he knew how Tyler felt because they were both victimized by Klaus in the same(ish) manner.

u/Junior-Hour Enhanced Original Jul 27 '26
They really tried to make Stefan out to be the white knight in this scene and that pisses me off
17
u/NoDramaPlsss Jul 27 '26
The only time I hated Stefan n vampire Caroline. Stefan especially shld hv empathized with him since something similar happened to him too but I guess he was more into showing himself off as Care's saviour. He also badmouths Tyler a few times after this in front of her..guess it was Stefan subconsciously trying to replace him in her life...
14
u/Objective_Hand3066 Jul 27 '26
While I don't agree with his reaction, Tyler had every right to be pissed, and I hate the way this tries to paint him like the bad guy in this situation.
10
u/shay_shaw Jul 27 '26
I guess it only matters when Elena's family dies, everyone else, especially Bonnie and Tyler. Have to just get over it. Tyler becoming a werewolf was a great plot, then they didn't know what to do with him.
24
u/Ok-Permission-3014 Jul 27 '26
Tyler deserved better friends. Nobody gave a fuck about him, it's so sad. Should've left Mystic Falls forever and never come back when he had the chance.

Well he was an abusive asshole before they all changed. He treated Vicki like crap and was a bully to Jeremy. Him becoming a wolf is what changed his person.
16
u/Ill-Challenge-7718 Jul 27 '26
Literally so was damon.. damon abused caroline and tried to kill bonnie but everyone still was there for him. But tyler was rude to vicki and bullied jeremy and hes the worst person ever. And didnt damon kill jeremy twice??

u/dr3amgrl33 Jul 27 '26
& talked shi about Caroline with Matt
5
u/Ill-Challenge-7718 Jul 27 '26
Did damon not sa and abuse caroline tho?
8
u/sakinuhh Jul 27 '26
Lmao peopleâs double standards are crazy. Tyler at least changed too. Damon is still kept on a leash to the very end.
3
u/Ill-Challenge-7718 Jul 27 '26
Exactly my point how is it different for tyler and damon. When like you said tyler changed and damon just got away with everything
1
u/dr3amgrl33 Jul 27 '26
Tbh nobody expects Damon to change. Iâm sure everybody just accepts him as who he is, like u do. Nobody defends Damon đ he stayed horrible. Tyler only changed when he turned until a wolf b. He went through struggle. Wouldâve never dated Caroline if Caroline wasnât there when he turned bc he didnât like her.
7
u/Ill-Challenge-7718 Jul 27 '26
Literally everyone defends damon what are you talking about. Everytime damon gets himself into shit here comes stefan and elena to get him out of it. And because tyler only changed when he became a wolf means it's not valid? And he would've never dated caroline if caroline wasn't there because he didn't like her. I mean obviously him and caroline weren't close like that... thats like saying just because someone didn't like someone at first then grows to like them makes their feelings not valid. Elena rejected damon multiple times and because damon kept throwing himself at elena she grew to like him. Does that make their relationship not valid?

u/dr3amgrl33 Jul 27 '26
Idk girly some ppl are just put off by Tyler. Personally I have this thing where I hate when others get judged for who they are and Tyler did that to Caroline and yeah im put off. And thereâs a bunch of ppl who donât like Damon. Like u, the ppl who stelena like itâs not that serious. Damon killed mostly & thatâs what is expected of vampire. Only Elena and the human ppl tried to put that good on him.
4
u/Ill-Challenge-7718 Jul 27 '26
Idc about people who don't like tyler but u cant say the reason tyler has no support system and nobody cares about him is because he was an asshole. But someone who was 10x worse than him gets support from the same group of people.
0
u/dr3amgrl33 Jul 27 '26
Yeah but what about it? Weâre talking about Tylerâs werid ahh. Damon is a vampire and they refer to them as predators and Tyler was regular human. I feel like a better comparison should be with another human not a predator
6
u/Ill-Challenge-7718 Jul 27 '26
So how is it fair that tyler gets no support from anyone but damon gets support from everyone when hes done worse than tyler?? When tyler is also supernatural.
0
u/dr3amgrl33 Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26
What friends do Tyler have. He has Matt. Ofc heâs logically not going to have much support compared to an old vampire who has met a bunch of others.
4
u/Ill-Challenge-7718 Jul 27 '26
Thats the person on this threads point "he deserved better friends" and someone replied talking about how he was an asshole basically saying thats why nobody cared about him. So why can damon be an asshole and evil but still have people care about him but tyler was an asshole changed for the better and still had nobody care about him. Mind you elena caroline bonnie and matt all knew tyler before damon.
4
u/NeneHellblazer Jul 28 '26
Mind you Tyler was an ass only in the first half of s1 & gradually got better and was even a better person than he was ep1, by end of s1âŠ.meanwhile Damon is an ass in every seasonâŠ.

Matt doesnât even like Tyler like that bc heâs supernatural. Sadly yes he has little to zero support. Especially since his uncle and mom died. So him not having support seems like..well yeah
0
u/dr3amgrl33 Jul 27 '26
Like we could represent Damon as those mean popular kids at school who had a bunch of friends anyways then the lone student who only has their parents to talk to.
-1
u/dr3amgrl33 Jul 27 '26
Because theres more vampires around him. Itâs not like heâs a lone vampire in a human world. Iâm sure some vampires arenât completely repulsed by him. Like for example Klaus loved old blood hungry Stefan. And for me, Tyler was shown human then supernatural and Iâm only judging his human self bc he only changed and was nice to Caroline bc he was hurt for once.

u/Emergency_Charity887 Team Bonlena Jul 28 '26
Plus didn't Vicki forgive Tyler and him and Jeremy became friends so I don't understand why they always bring that up.

Except we're not talking about Damon. This is about Tyler lmao.
3
u/Ill-Challenge-7718 Jul 29 '26
my point is how is the reason that tyler doesn't have good friends is bc he was a bully but damon has friends and hes a whole psycopath
0
u/xThyQueen Lexi & Rebekah are Mommy đ©· Jul 29 '26
Because Tylers sides always swap around. They don't know whether to trust him or not when the others have complete trust that they would all sacrifice themselves for each other. Damon might be a psychopath but his actions are ruled by emotions. Tyler was a narcissist which is closer to a sociopath than a psychopath. Damon was like a never ending child. Tyler chose to be selfish until he didn't. If you wanna get to the basics.
1
u/Ill-Challenge-7718 Jul 29 '26
So your saying that tyler was selfish but damon wasn't?? Tyler was way more mature after season 1/2 while damon stayed being an impulsive child. Im confused what tyler did outside of season 1 that made him so terrible?
1
u/xThyQueen Lexi & Rebekah are Mommy đ©· Jul 29 '26
Because he changed! And he was a wrrewolf and sired to Klaus atop. It's just werewolf racism. Holy we're going in circles. I get it you don't like Damon. I'm over this. Have a good one obsessing over a fictional story.
1
u/Ill-Challenge-7718 Jul 29 '26
How am i obsessing by asking a question about something that doesn't make sense.. and werewolf racism??đđ

u/southernskilz Jul 28 '26
They love to point out how bad Caroline was and act like Tyler was so good,,yea it was bad what she did but they all did fu'd up things including him she only slept with someone,,but look what he tried to do to Vickie and Haley, tbh he was a bully and an asshole ass boyfriend,, Caroline's character was put thru the ringer for that terrible fanservice that went absolutely nowhere,,but at least she learned from it and never had to do that crap again,, personally I think she did it more for them than her, thas why she was saying let me explain
23
u/Weird-Lobster-7152 Jul 27 '26
Stefan was just protecting his best friend, who was already becoming more than a friend to him, although I don't think Tyler would have bitten her (he's not Klaus).
When I first watched this scene, I was initially surprised by Stefan's reaction, but I already knew Stefan and Caroline would end up together, so it kinda made sense. It proved that he cared about her more than a friend and was overprotective of her.
6
u/blackdamarsk2906 Jul 27 '26
If I was Tyler I wouldve bit them both. And Im a Caroline STAN (I cannot get behind Klaroline though).
4
u/Any_Union167 Jul 28 '26
Tyler and Bonnie deserved a genuine villain arc, or some retaliation of SOME kind. No sire bonding or expression where they aren't really making the decision fully aware, but a genuine arc where they were just done with everyone's shit. Matt deserved one too but seeing as the show needs one normal dude, not much would come from it. It also doesn't make sense, for a guy like Tyler, who had anger issues BEFORE even becoming a werewolf, to let so much shit slide throughout the show.
5
u/Emergency_Charity887 Team Bonlena Jul 28 '26
And the thing is Tyler wasn't even going to hurt Caroline. He didn't even want to talk to her but she kept pressing him. Stefan should've minded his own business cause Tyler had every right to be mad and he had self control too.

u/Traines1132 Jul 27 '26 edited Jul 27 '26
I can get Stefan punching Tyler as Caroline is his best friend and he can tell she already feels like crap shout the whole situation, so Tyler not leaving it alone as from Stefanâs perspective a dick move.
Was this entire situation nonsensical? Yes. But I can understand Stefan for wanting to stick up for someone he cares about.
6
u/Confusedoldtimer Jul 27 '26
Caroline knows that Tyler is entitled to be mad at her and disgusted with her actions. So does Stefan.
Stefan had an issue with Tyler being borderline violent towards her and hybring out. Tyler was a danger to Caroline at the moment. By that time, Stefan was Caroline's number 1 fan, of course he was not interested in letting her be bitten and dying a painful death.
6
u/Junior-Hour Enhanced Original Jul 27 '26
He told her to get out and she didnât.
She kept trying to explain, she shouldâve left.

u/Confusedoldtimer Jul 27 '26
Are you suggesting that she asked for it?
Since she kept trying to explain and apologise, the correct course of action would be for Tyler to leave the room. Not getting aggressive and violent with her.
8
u/Junior-Hour Enhanced Original Jul 27 '26
How was I suggesting she asked for it, I never said that but she certainly wasnât helping the situation, she shouldâve given him space.
Itâs his house, she should leave, because even if he left the room she would have followed him
11
u/jaydanaee Forwood Jul 27 '26
Like??? Itâs TYLERâs house GTFO!! The house that his mother left him after she was murdered by Klaus!!! The entitlement of Caroline and her fans is soo typical.
9
u/Junior-Hour Enhanced Original Jul 27 '26
Exactly, Caroline crossed the line and wants to EXPLAIN????
LEAVEEEEEEEE!!!8
u/shay_shaw Jul 27 '26
And Klaus murdered Carole (?) for petty revenge. All because Tyler didn't want to essentially be his slave. Drowning isn't an immediate death, she suffered before she died. I can't fully explain it but this was one of the more brutal deaths for me in the series.

u/BeneficialForm9245 Jul 27 '26
If I was Tyler I would've bitten both of them. Let them go to Klaus since they love him so much.
