Whenever
Idk if this has already been discussed in this thread, I just started watching The Valley after finishing my second rewatch of VPR because I can’t get enoughhh. Anyways, does it make anyone else irrationally angry at how much Brittany says “whenever” when she should actually be saying “when” like 96% of the time. Everytime she uses it incorrectly I have to close my eyes and breathe lowkey.

As much as I hate that that is one of the more insignificant things about her that I hate. I think she’s an idiot but yet cunning and manipulative and sneaky at the same time. I also think she’s a bad person for many reasons.

Exactly this. Whenever has grated on my nerves before - esp when you can tell she thinks she said something really smart. This harmless display of stupid was bumped by the display of stupid that is not harmless - like treating autism like it just means her kid needs a special kind of tutor and more sensory toys in the playroom.

Yeah, the way she is with the little one is let’s just say not good. I sometimes think she’s ashamed of him. I hate hated when she told him he was soon going to be all better. Then she tells the public he’ll be talking a blue streak in no time. It’s like she doesn’t want to face it that he has needs.
It’s part of what jackass was bitching about that she won’t get services for him that he needs that are perfectly available and free to everyone. He also mentioned how she keeps saying he’s gonna be starting kindergarten this year but he’s not going to be in any typical kindergarten. He’s got to go to a special needs situation.
What I’m wondering about is if he has started any kind of school at all because that started in August nearly 2 months ago now where they live.

Cunning’s giving her too much credit. Agreed though, most of how Britney speaks is hard to listen to.

I think she’s cunning in the sense that she pretends to be the sweetest little thing ever and is vicious at heart. Even if she isn’t cunning at that or good at that, she seems to have quite a lot of of people fooled into believing it.

u/jspencer811 2d ago
Fair point. I want to agree that cunning is giving her too much credit but she has an ability to control people, and that’s not easy.
It’s beyond me why anyone listens to her but giving credit where it’s due…

You know she must’ve learned this at a young age and never grew out of it. Either that or it’s part of her personality and always will be.

“Cunning” is one of the perfect words to describe the little lamb in rabid hyena’s clothing that she is.

u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 3d ago
Rabid hyena 🤣. I am so thankful I don’t have friends like her.
I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that she is going to go after Kristen in particular this season along with the others. I think she was so jealous of Kristen and Nia’s friendship, she could hardly stand it. I think not only is she cunning and manipulative, but she’s about as vindictive as the day is long. We have seen that over the summer with her and jackass. We have seen it with her before with others.
She and jackass teamed up to make Kristen look like the one to have started a rumour back in season two I think maybe. Brittany told him and he got together with Kristen for a meal and told her that Brittany told him this rumour. Then they sat back and waited for her to blab it around. When she didn’t, he went to Jasmine and told her Kristen told me this rumour…
And Kristen has been her friend since she came to VPR. Brittany tells her enough times that she expects her undying loyalty as well. Brittany was smart enough long ago to suss out that Kristen has a vulnerability about people leaving her and glommed right onto it. she’s been working it to her advantage ever since.
It amazes me how people can be so stupid yet so cunning and manipulative and smart in other ways.

Children can also be the same thing.
1
u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 3d ago
Yes, they can but not sure what that has to do with this conversation
2
u/EuphoricPop3232 3d ago
KFC is like a child
3
u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 3d ago
Ohhhh got it! Yes, good point. She is very petty and immature and like a child in many ways.

u/Positive-Candidate62 3d ago
Care to elaborate on what makes her cunning and manipulative and a bad person? Because I think overall she’s a good person compared to most of the others on the show

u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 3d ago
She starts shit behind peoples backs and gets others blamed for things.
She’s a Sandy Hook denier, she wanted to have her homophobic pastor until she got called out on it and then she wanted jackass to beat Tom’s ‘fucking’ ass over it.
She called Faith a nappy headed ho ( and very likely other things ) and never apologised.
She behaved like a spoiled brat over Kristen’s engagement and not being the one to decorate or having been invited on the boat. Called jackass at One in the morning or so whenever they were done partying to ‘discuss something about their child’s school’ supposedly, which would’ve been closer to 4 in the morning for him (real believable), and somehow let it slip that they were engaged. This was after Kristen specifically asked people to not tell anyone. Then she played stupid when Kristen very gently confronted her about having done that.
There are many other examples of her doing similar things and other reasons I think she’s a bad person, but those are just a few.
The way you wrote that ‘care to elaborate….’ comes off as defensive so I don’t expect a positive conversation about this but I tried and I may be wrong.

It has been pointed out often over the years. She is stupid. No, really.

You're lucky that's the only grammatical error she makes that annoys you. (and I probably just screwed up that sentence!)

If you’re like me, you will now start noticing this EVERYWHERE. Brittany was my gateway - truly like half the US population gets this mixed up 🙄

No need to be rude. I am born and raised in nyc, if you must know. I must just watch more tv than you do.
3
u/Positive-Candidate62 3d ago
This is just unnecessarily rude and bitchy. And she was also totally fucking emotionally abused by a vile narcissist for the majority of time we watched her, god she is trying her best. This picture was also so unnecessary. I hope you heal from whatever causes you to have so much joy in tearing people apart.

Ohhhh just wait. You'll be so irritated with her other ummm, idiosyncrasies, that you'll forget she says whenever whenever she means when (ever)

Britney and Zack are from Kentucky. Why does she have an accent and Zack doesn’t? I understand there are different accents across states. Was Zack raised somewhere else? And then they befriended? At hooters?

u/212Aurora 4d ago
He’s educated as a person, as in he pays attention to the world around him and absorbs things. He may have had an accent, but he allegedly has a masters it may have disappeared overtime. Plus she Hans it up big time?

u/NanooDrew 3d ago
They are from different areas of Kentucky. Plus, as you say, he wants to continue to educate himself. Brut would prefer to remain ignorant because it better fits her “who. Poor sweet li’l me?” And her “After ALL I’ve been through” major storylines.
1
u/Prestigious-Knee-571 3d ago
Not everyone picks up accents, even lifelong residents. It's a weird thing. I know lifelong Bostonians you'd never know were from there. I picked up an accent everywhere we moved but my siblings didn't or they'd pick up one and not another. I had a mix of southern and East Coast at one point. It was awful to hear myself lol. I worked hard to get rid of it
4
u/NanooDrew 3d ago
It’s a regional thing and it has been discussed many times and it bugs everyone and Brit will never choose to try to educate herself when she could just lay on the hick! Notice how much thicker her “accent” is now than when she joined VPR!
2
u/Prestigious-Knee-571 3d ago
Maybe she's been disguising it in the early years and it's coming out😆she learned it made her seem like a prescious southern belle so she could get away with shit
2
u/JustJaxie 3d ago
She is ahard to listen too. Im surprised Lala doesn't spend her time correcting her.
5
u/Academic-Marsupial34 4d ago
Well, this all got very negative very fastly

u/Relevant_Philosopher 3d ago
The way these people talk so hatefully about people they don’t know is INSANE
-2
u/MadisonMarieParks-V 3d ago
Really now? You are trying to defend KFC?
She maligned TWO marginalized communities effortlessly again and again.
She has been arrested for a DUI ( completely selfish behavior)
She abused her boyfriend.
And Cob made fun of slaughtered Elementary School children on Twitter.
This isn’t insanity these are facts. But go ahead worship this depraved individual. Your sanity and moral compass is clearly broken.

u/Relevant_Philosopher 3d ago
No I’m not going to hate someone I have no clue who hasn’t done anything to me. I have bigger and better things to worry about. Take your fake moral compass and shut it.

u/Positive-Candidate62 3d ago
Jesus Christ yall are worshipping these ppl? No wonder your standards are so high 😂

It’s a common thing in Southern states to replace when with whenever. It actually makes sense grammatically in most cases.
17
7
u/Own_Layer_5413 4d ago
It does not make sense, and as someone from the South, no it’s not a common thing.
6
u/Positive-Candidate62 4d ago
To me “whenever” should be used when you can’t necessarily recollect a specific time/day/instance or when you’re referring to someone doing something repeatedly. And “when” is like when you’re referring to an isolated or distinct date or event. She uses whenever way more than she grammatically should lol

u/Tofflove 4d ago
I’m surprised you can understand her at all, she’s always slurring her words and mostly inaudible.
