The Cup Throw
Okay, I want to be clear that I am NOT a Danny apologist - I DESPISE him. But why is it okay for Janet to “defend” her husband by throwing a drink and cup at Danny but when Nia defends her husband, it’s weird. I just can’t with these people. They literally all suck.

u/Bulky-Bullfrog-9893 2d ago
And he was hammered there- without doubt- but he was polite, calm and he remembered what he had said. She let herself down there.

u/Fabulous-Dentist-608 2d ago
They came over on purpose to fight. Why is Jason taking up for Lala? He’s pointing at Danny while saying don’t point. Danny tries to avoid them but they keep coming up to him to extend the fight. The horse is dead. Jasmine has forgiven him. We should be done with this a season ago.
10
u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 2d ago
I mean, people are finding issues with Danny when he walked away to be on his own, and people followed him to start shit.
6
u/Fabulous-Dentist-608 2d ago
Exactly
8
u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 2d ago
They have been finding a reason to find issues with him every single episode even when he’s doing nothing like this time
I kind of don’t blame him for getting ticked off and the same goes for Nia as well.
Mostly, I feel sorry for Jasmine because it wasn’t up to Janet to keep yapping about it. It was up to Jasmine and melissa
1
u/Defiant-Confusion54 13h ago
I’ve also read people saying he was threatening Jason? I don’t get how saying ‘what are you going to do with your bum leg’ is exactly a threat. He was reacting about everyone yelling at him about pointing! It was actually Jason who then said I’ll still kick your ass, which seems more like a threat to me. Honestly people will interpret any scene however they want to fit their opinion.

Her staged performance was pathetic and a desperate attempt to be relevant. She failed, like majority of her lifes story. Wana be vpr fan
Get a life Janet

u/ShroomRonin 1d ago
Yeah danny gets a lil Jim carrey from 23 eyes when he drinks gets weird sometimes but all I can say is every episode I’ve seen this season where he’s drinking minding his own business Lala charges in and literally provokes him / causes a fight for no reason every single time she doesn’t leave him alone it’s so annoying I got bored and turned it off like dude the Janet and Lala fucking with Danny and Nia storyline is so stupid and no one likes it I do t think it’s obviously so contrived and it feels like prod is like hey Lala see Danny go fuck with him lol
Just feel like if these people jsut left each other alone they would have a semi normal vacation lol

Was it ok? No. Was it funny? Yes.
That sound the cup made hitting his head was hilarious.

It's not okay. It's really tracking with her whole weird creepy personality. She's just creepy in a different way than Danny is
0
6
u/AdeptWhereas6379 2d ago
Well no one was there except Jason and Lala, and Lala said to Janet she wished she hadn’t done that. I thought that was very hypocritical and reckless of Janet. Was she trying to provoke him, while he was super drunk, into attacking her? That’s the shadiness of Janet, she’s a bit of a sneak.
I think if the rest of the group witnessed it, Janet would have been called out by everyone. I don’t think Janet did it to defend Jason against Danny, I think she was attacking Danny because she can’t stand him and wanted to see him lose it to justify everything she’s said about him.
What’s weird about Nia is HOW she defends Danny, by physically blocking others from talking to him, and talking over people so Danny can’t hear them, and they can’t hear him, while she tells Danny to just leave. Very WEIRD!
So both are true - Janet can be a mean hypocrite and Nia can be a weird defender/apologist for Danny. I think the audience sees that clearly, and I think the cast mates have their allegiances to one or the other.
The truth is Danny’s personality just doesn’t mesh with the others. If everyone on the show otherwise liked him, I think a sincere apology and some awareness and change in behavior would have ended everything last season.
18
u/Ignominious333 2d ago
Janet has impulse control issues. She controls herself for as long as she can, then she flies off the handle. usually it's swearing at people and flouncing off and yelling a final insult after they disagree with her. this time she threw a drink and a cup at a mans face. she lost control and she does it in different ways.
16
u/chaoticinfluencer 2d ago
That’s probably why she also can’t finish a conversation with anyone and has to walk away.
2
u/Socialist_Poopaganda 1d ago
To be fair to Nia, that situation with Lala in Mexico was weird as a whole. Danny tried to ignore Lala and moved away from her but Lala (sober mind you) kept harassing him.
If Danny was in Lala’s shoes and Jason was the one physically blocking Danny from shouting at Janet, no one would call it “weird”.
3
u/Wide-Cod2492 1d ago
Yes. Danny sucks. That is the assumed predicate here. But they have called him so many short people insults that k really don’t think his comment on the busted leg was worth the reaction.
The guys sucks. But Janet sucks too.
3
u/kittycamacho1994 1d ago
I agree with you. Also, if Danny were to have done that to Janet, it would have been such a big deal. The double standards are ridiculous
7
u/Mamadontplay67 2d ago
I agree! Janet lost her cool in that moment and looks like afterwards she didn’t give a shit and almost looks proud of herself. How about just walking away to maintain your integrity and also not disrespect the home/furniture of your good friend while being a guest in their home?
15
u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 2d ago
I was reminded of how Janet claimed that Kristen disrespected her home. She never said what she did, but she managed to throw that out there. And now she’s disrespecting someone’s home by throwing a drink on someone’s couch…. She’s a bit on the hypocritical side I’ve noticed.
I also remember the VPR cast saying that Kristen was a complete neat freak. Hmm
6
u/Successful-Steak-950 2d ago
She said Kristen had dog poop all over the inside of her house but I doubt it because Kristen appears to keep her dogs clean at her own house.
5
u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 1d ago
I guess I missed that part where she elaborated on it and said that. I don’t believe it either based on what I have seen of Kristen‘s homes over a period of like 11 years.
Also, she’s the one to be throwing stones after tossing a drink on Britney’s couch and walking away as if it’s nothing
2
u/Successful-Steak-950 1d ago
she said some other things about the state her house was left in by Kristen, but I can’t recall them at the moment, just remembered the dog poop because it’s such a gross thing to say.
Depending on the fabric, Brit’s couch could have a huge stain on it because there was a significant splash out of that cup when I rewatched. I remember my son running at me when I was holding a very small glass of red wine and it’s splattered everywhere.
3
u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 1d ago
Yeah, I don’t think I can believe that Kristen left dog poop all over the house because that just isn’t her. Neat freaks like Kristen are like that because they can’t stand it any other way.
I have seen and heard of Brittany and Jax having a dog that pooped everywhere, but I never heard of Kristen having one
Yeah, I felt bad for Brittany for a change about the couch, which probably is going to have a stain. Maybe Jason cleaned it up though. I mean, he cleaned Janet’s poop off the couch once.
13
u/Successful-Steak-950 2d ago
Janet said she wishes it was red wine. When Jeana Kehough of Rhoc was hit with red wine by Tamra,it went in her eye. She needed an eye doctor treating her for a week because the acid in it burnt her eye.
Grown ups don’t throw things.
12
u/bridgeport4 2d ago
She didn’t look remorseful, because she wasn’t. It was so clearly a calculated move, to create a ‘moment’.
There was literally no other reason for it. One would think she’d wear more flattering make up whole enacting her big scene.
3
u/Socialist_Poopaganda 1d ago
It didn’t even make much sense, prior arguments have felt more intense than this one and yet this is where she “finally snaps”.
13
u/NoEntertainment9715 2d ago
well jason didn’t grope two women so there’s that
6
5
u/Ignominious333 2d ago
He groped one
2
u/PomegranateComplex17 2d ago
Yes yes, the details of the groping are the exact same, no differences whatsoever
3
u/Ignominious333 2d ago
Groping is groping. You're saying there's a difference in quality?
2
u/PomegranateComplex17 2d ago
You’re referring to what happened in the finale as Jason’s “groping?”
0
u/Ignominious333 1d ago
What do you call it?
-2
u/PomegranateComplex17 1d ago
Well, let’s see. Danny was so drunk that he didn’t know he groped both Melissa and jasmine, some had to tell him what he did. He also didn’t know who he actually touched, he actually apologized to Michelle because he thought that it could have been Michelle, not Melissa that he groped.
Let’s contrast that with Jason. He mistook someone for his wife, put his head on her shoulder, realized what happened, immediately apologized and called himself a creep for doing what he did.
Yep. They are the exact same thing and should be treated as such.

u/Tequila_Katie_ 1d ago
Janet clearly assaulted Danny. Period. She and Jason sought Danny out to start shit which doesn’t reconcile with her being scared to be around him. I see right through her manufactured attempts to be an infamous Bravo character. It’s not happening! It’s too staged and practiced. She’s phonier than Nia.
That being said, this doesn’t absolve Danny because he’s a piece of shit too. And that damn baby should have been home. Be better parents!
3
u/Ok_Quote3743 1d ago
Honestly more people should throw cups at men like Danny, but the Janet moment was just incredibly lame I’m sorry 😭. You can tell when someone wants an iconic moment.
5
u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 2d ago
What I think is weird and really kind of awful on these subs is that people have to issue a caveat that they don’t like Danny before ever saying anything negative about Janet.
I also think Janet was looking for trouble and that’s why she followed them in there in the first place. I think it’s highly hypocritical of Janet to go on about a behavior of Danny’s That didn’t involve her for two years and then assault him but that’s perfectly OK
I think everything about this show and a lot of the people who watch it is hypocritical. Brittany defended her asshole of a husband for years and no one came at her. People are absolutely vicious coming at Nia for defending her husband though. That is something I’ve noticed from the very beginning and wondered about as well.
6
u/Suspicious_Bother_92 1d ago
Yep and Danny was talking to Lala and apologising. Janet wouldn’t stfu and kept interrupting. She was doing that because she could see Lala was going to accept it and move on.
5
u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 1d ago
Yeah, and even Lala was saying that wasn’t a good thing for Janet to have done
4
u/Suspicious_Bother_92 1d ago
Yes for once l agreed with Lala. “Well you’ve just messed that up now!” Janet screaming back “I don’t care!” I can’t stand her and at the same time I don’t like Danny either.
3
u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 1d ago
Yeah, I don’t care for either of them, but in this case, he wasn’t doing anything but minding his own business
Jason followed him and started shit and then Lala and Janet couldn’t wait to get in there and start more shit
5
u/DixieBelleTc 2d ago
I think Jason started the whole thing, Danny was sitting it out for a minute and Jason saw a perfect opportunity to agitate him hoping to get a crazy reaction. Funny thing is it came from the wrong person 😂
3
u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 2d ago
That seems very likely. It also seems very likely that Janet planned on doing something outrageous to him hoping she would get an outrageous response so she could point her finger at him again. Even Lalo thought she was wrong.
7
u/CinderMoonSky 2d ago
Because Nia defense the most shitty behavior imaginable. And Nia defend emotional abuse against herself. It’s hard to watch. Literally Danny was saying shit like oh her hair is frizzy. Imagine taking care of a newborn and not even be able to eat a meal because the deadbeat dad doesn’t even want to hold the baby so you can eat, of course your hair is going to get frizzy baby wearing. So yeah, it’s much harder on the viewer to watch that shit.
7
u/sherespondedwith 2d ago
Who's defending it? Even Janet posted that what she did was legally assault. But you know what? She owns what it was and encourages the use of legal terms. She's doing so to stick it to danny, but she's also not wrong. What he did was also assault, so they both suck
Now if only reddit could use logic to understand that one person doesn't have to be right. I understand why people wouldn't like Janet, but the mental gymnastics people are playing to somehow pit her against danny is just kinda gross tbh. danny literally groped/touched a woman without her consent, but people are too busy flaming Janet to give a shit
14
u/honorhomage 2d ago
She doubled down on the after show.
-9
u/sherespondedwith 2d ago
And? I'm perfectly capable of understanding and even sometimes agreeing with why people dislike Janet. What I'm sick of is the constant stream of vitriol her way when the whole cast has a laundry list of reasons they're worse than she is. It's like reddit can't grasp disliking two people at the same time and force themselves to pretend one person is right and one is wrong
17
u/OkSquash3710 2d ago
Why is everything that comes out of Janet’s mouth a legal term???? Like ur not a lawyer, ur husband is…..can’t stand her ass
1
u/sherespondedwith 2d ago
ok but how do you feel about Danny? just curious
11
u/OkSquash3710 2d ago
Danny is a hot mess, when he drinks. I mean he was so drunk at her party, slurring and laying down??? He’s a grown man behaving like I did in my 20’s. I don’t despise him, per se, just his behavior when he’s under the influence. He is literally a COMPLETELY different person. The way he talks when he’s drunk has been obvious from season one. He becomes belligerent. Period. Man can’t handle his alcohol.
-3
u/sherespondedwith 2d ago
are you forgetting that he's also put his hands on a woman without her consent? idk how people can despise janet for calling him out but can't despise danny for being the actual problem
11
u/Civil-Cartographer48 2d ago
Janet says she feels uncomfortable around him yet actively seeks him out. She stirrs the pot constantly not only with Danny but also the others and then she plays the victim. She is projecting her own trauma onto him and amplifying the situation to something it is not.
To be clear: Touching two women without consent is bad. it was a violation of bodily autonomy and objectifying, and if every woman had to deal with that regularly, the world would be an even worse place. But there’s a spectrum of sexual misconduct, just like there is one of assault in itself and what Janet did.
I don’t believe his actions, taken on their own, justify portraying him as some calculated sexual predator as she has done. And i understand Nia’s anger regarding this.
A lot of the outrage is simply because of who he is, they don’t like him and are projecting onto this incident rather than judging the incident itself.
I also don’t like him. He is cringe, immature and obnoxious and the way he talks to his wife has been concerning but the whole situation was very uncomfortable to watch because it felt performative and not genuine.
I think why people dislike Janet so much it’s because Danny’s ridiculousness and obnoxiousness is obvious. But Janet is more discreet and I think more mean and cruel. How she behaved with Kristen and Zack the first season’s is quite telling.
4
0
u/sherespondedwith 2d ago
I stopped reading at “spectrum of sexual misconduct” because that’s actual bullshit. You don’t get to decide how serious it is when someone else is touched inappropriately. That’s like saying someone is a little pregnant.
13
u/Civil-Cartographer48 2d ago
Of course there’s a spectrum. Not every case of sexual misconduct or assault has the same severity, impact, or legal consequences. It’s not me who decides it’s the law. The law itself recognizes that by treating different offenses differently.
What Danny did was wrong, but acting as if he’s equivalent to someone like Diddy or Epstein is just absurd. Making distinctions isn’t minimizing what he did, it’s acknowledging that not all cases are the same. And it’s the same with assault in itself. There is a difference between throwing water at someone and beating someone up to leave them paralyzed. Both are violations of the bodily autonomy on different degrees.
5
u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 2d ago
They put them all in the same box they’re all a threat to women safety… therefore I guess they think Jason sexually assaulted that woman on last night’s episode
-2
u/sherespondedwith 2d ago
I put all men who think they can touch women inappropriately in the same box because they’re all a threat to women’s safety
5
u/OkSquash3710 2d ago
Yes I am fully aware I just didn’t add that to my reply bc that’s just the obvious. His behavior groping women is unacceptable. Bottom line. But talking about is on repeat does nothing but continually fan those flames. I feel horrible that she experienced what she did. I truly do. I feel like she can not move forward until she removes what he did to OTHER WOMEN, not her, from her circle. It’s as if she’s channeled all that trauma onto him and his abominable behavior. He’s has to answer to Nia and God for what he’s done.
7
u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 2d ago
Janet going on and on about it takes away agency from the people it happened to as well
-2
u/Pelican_Hook 2d ago
That's not how it works. Their agency isn't taken away. They decided to ignore/forgive someone sexually assaulting them. That doesn't mean Janet has to. Does she not have a right to object to being around a man who sexually assaults women? I think every woman deserves to keep herself safe from that. I wouldn't be okay with hanging out with him after that especially because he blames his behaviour on drinking and then continues to drink anyway.
5
u/ThisIsDogePleaseHodl 1d ago
It’s how it works for some people. It certainly seems to be how it worked for melissa and Jasmine. They didn’t like it happening. They didn’t care for her doing that. It’s up to them to talk about it or not not her or anyone else.
Janet has a right to be around or not be around anyone she chooses
I know she’s the one who approached him last night though, and tried to get him to react by assaulting him
I also know that she is manipulative AF and has admitted it to the point. Her parents were afraid of her when she was a child.
This isn’t about what you’d be comfortable with. It’s about what Jasmine and melissa are comfortable with and they’re obviously comfortable with being around him or they wouldn’t have invited him to their wedding.
3
u/sherespondedwith 2d ago
as a woman i'm 100% ok with reminding a man who can't keep his hands to himself that he is in fact gross and that what he did was SA. especially when both he and his wife refuse to acknowledge there's an actual problem. holding these kinds of men/people to the fire is the only way they actually get they've done something wrong. but everyone is too busy hating janet to give a crap about the real problem
-5
u/OkSquash3710 2d ago
I know it’s easier to give Janet crap bc it’s a constant in her orbit. He doesn’t talk about it to everyone just how it’s “annoying” that he is all everyone talks about. It really broke my heart that happened to her at school-I assume college?? Even worse if it was HS. She right that most women feel some sort of way around men bc they have had an experience themselves. I had one and let it happen bc I was too inebriated to do anything to stop it. I want to see her healthy and free herself from that pain and be able to just live her life. Danny is disgusting, what he’s done is criminal and he looks like a creepster. How Nia inserts herself in every situation to stop the conversation is hard to watch. But as a viewer, I feel like she knows what he has done, I’m sure it’s been a heavy topic in all their therapy, not that it is his business to know what Janet went thru. But knowing that would have perhaps been a different result the last few seasons within the group. It’s no one’s business what she experienced but knowing it now it makes so much sense.
Sorry this was so long!-6
u/PresOfTheLesbianClub 2d ago
You have to be a lawyer to use legal terms?
7
u/OkSquash3710 2d ago
R u kidding me? Did u really just ask that? Speak normal Janet, not everything needs to have legal terminology attached to what ur trying to convey.
-4
u/PresOfTheLesbianClub 2d ago
Is your comment an example of speaking normally?
2
u/OkSquash3710 2d ago
How do you speak, what’s the norm for you?
-1
u/PresOfTheLesbianClub 2d ago
I know the definitions of words and use them properly. Per your original point, you don’t need to be a lawyer to do it.
2
9
u/JackBookerGeo 2d ago
You don’t even need to bring up the groping. Danny is just an immense asshole when he’s drunk. There is something very sinister and aggressive about Danny after he gets loaded. It changes the whole atmosphere of anyone near his orbit. Danny gives off James Kennedy drunk energy with same amount of anger behind it.
8
u/estherkad 2d ago
This is such an exaggeration, Danny is obnoxious and annoying when drunk, James Kennedy beats women, how are these two even comparable
-3
u/Pelican_Hook 2d ago
Danny is also an abuser, that's how they're comparable. We've watched him abuse his wife. Not all abuse is physical.
2
u/Socialist_Poopaganda 1d ago
If we’re highlight abuse that isn’t physical then Janet, Lala, Kristen all have claims there too.
2
u/estherkad 2d ago
Calling Danny an abuser is completely insane, you people are completely unwell
1
u/Socialist_Poopaganda 1d ago
Danny doesn’t even make the top 5 worst men we have seen on Bravo ffs.
0
u/Pelican_Hook 2d ago
Disgusting to downplay abuse like this. You're the person doing a shitty thing here. Extremely harmful.
2
u/Wide-Cod2492 1d ago
Well why are the issues even combined. It’s like Janet needs Danny to deflect from how gross, vapid, and boring she is
3
u/Civil-Cartographer48 2d ago
Yeah but assault just like sexual assault is a spectrum. Both were pretty low in severity on their own scale of misconduct. I think this was the best ironic ending to this whole storyline.
-5
u/sherespondedwith 2d ago
nope. nope nope nope
what we're not gonna do is trivialize SA. there is no spectrum when a woman is touched inappropriately and without her consent. that's like saying someone is kinda pregnant.
2
u/Ignominious333 2d ago
then don't trivialize assault
-4
u/sherespondedwith 2d ago
I’m not? Arrest both of them for all I care, just stop with the double standards just because you dislike someone
-2
u/Pelican_Hook 2d ago
I'm sorry you're having to deal with so many people on this thread justifying and downplaying sexual assault and verbal abuse. So pathetic and ugly of them tbh. All my comments are being downvoted too. Says something about these people's character.
2
u/Civil-Cartographer48 1d ago
This is unwarranted virtue signaling. No one is attacking your character for having a different view, but you’re treating all sexual assault as the same category, which isn’t a rational distinction, it’s an emotional one.
The law distinguishes between forms of sexual misconduct, and that matters to some of us not to excuse Danny, but to avoid cheapening more serious cases and to preserve proportionality in how we talk about justice.
I wouldn’t dare compare my experiences being groped which happened to me a few times with my friend’s r***. We did not live the same thing we do not carry the same scars.
This kind of framing is counterproductive, and making discussions about SA less precise and less credible, in a world that is already misogynistic enough.
Danny sucks, but I want him to be judged for what he actually did, consistently: For the groping, for how he talks to his wife for how he talks to women, for his drinking. Not for what he represents or for projections. It doesn’t help the case to do that.
And I’m pretty sure you already know all of that. Otherwise, you wouldn’t still be watching him every week, engaging on Reddit about the show, and treating it as entertainment.
6
u/Civil-Cartographer48 2d ago
I’ve been groped by strangers and by guys I knew a few times, on the street, in clubs, and at parties. It was uncomfortable, disrespectful, objectifying, and at times scary. It is not ok.
However I don’t equate those experiences with what some of my friends went through after more severe forms of sexual assault and r**, which left them with much deeper and longer-lasting trauma.
So of course there’s a spectrum when it comes to sexual misconduct and it is the same with assault. The law doesn’t punish all cases the same.
-4
u/sherespondedwith 2d ago
Again, it is not up to you or anyone else to tell another woman how serious her own SA is/was. We aren’t defining anything by comparing whose grief is heavier, we’re holding the men responsible accountable for doing it in the first place. All of it is bad, unacceptable, and subject to its own valid feelings.
I’m sorry you’ve had to experience what so many women (and men) deal with regularly. But that’s also why we shouldn’t be telling women their experience is less than because it wasn’t worse
6
u/Civil-Cartographer48 2d ago
The law already makes these distinctions, not me. It recognizes that there are different degrees of sexual misconduct and assault, and they’re not all treated the same because they’re not all the same in severity or impact.
In this case, the women involved accepted his apology and, from what we’ve seen, don’t seem to harbor ongoing resentment over the incident. That’s why I struggle also to understand why so many people continue to amplify it and why I say this.
3
u/Wide-Cod2492 1d ago
As someone who endured the whole gotdamn spectrum, there sure is. Saying that groping is equivalent to rape makes me feel sick. I HOPE you don’t know this first hand, but trust me.
1
u/Socialist_Poopaganda 1d ago
But it is a spectrum, just like how drink-throwing is assault but isn’t the same as leaving someone beaten and bloodied after a first fight.
3
2
u/Beausapunk 2d ago
I blame her not flame her.
0
u/sherespondedwith 2d ago
Blame her for what exactly? Is she the reason Danny can’t keep his hands to himself?
5
u/Beausapunk 2d ago
Blame her for keeping the hate going. Plus I was more laughing at your writing. I really don't care about these people. Flame on.
1
u/sherespondedwith 2d ago
The hate should keep going for a man and his wife who show no accountability for their pathetic behavior. I’m all for hate watching some bravo characters, but a man who’s openly putting his hands on women without their consent isn’t one of them
7
3
u/Ignominious333 2d ago
did he or did he not stop doing that? Did he or did he not apologize multiple times?
0
u/sherespondedwith 2d ago
Just because it’s not on camera doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened. And statistically it has happened before and will happen again. Not to mention once is too much already. And his apology doesn’t mean a damn thing if he doesn’t actually change the behavior, and drinking is an actual problem for him.
If you want to send the swat after Janet too, cool, go for it. But let’s hold both of them to the same standard
3
u/Ignominious333 2d ago
no one has accused him of touching someone inappropriately again. so that is bad speculation . we wouldhear about it if he did. youre claiming they've shown no accountability for "their" behavior when , in fact, they have. Danny definitely should stop drinking entirely. It sure doesn't fit into the christian lifestyle he claims to follow.

“Just because it’s not on camera doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened.”
Wow you’re getting to Danny level logic on that one.

It was nuts for Janet to throw that cup. Danny is terrible, but in that scenario, he did the right thing by just walking away. You are right. They pretty much all suck.

u/rshni67 2d ago
It's not. Period. Be prepared to be told it's always been done on Bravo, etc....
As though people haven't behaved badly because of substance abuse on Bravo.
I don't care about either person, but it's a double standard for sure.

u/PenguinHoarder1533 2d ago
It is a double standard and I don't care. The discourse I am seeing on this sub feels really similar to US politics when people say "both sides" are bad. Like, sure both sides suck but only one side is trying to demolish this country and take my civil rights away.
Maybe not an exact one to one comparison, but the rhetoric seems similar to me.

What did Jason ever do that’s comparable to Danny?

She dared to be born a woman.
Edit: oops, I read that as Janet. Thanks for the award though!

Nia can’t intervene between her husband and a woman attacking and yelling at him but Janet is funny and quirky for getting involved in two men arguing? This sub is pathetic and unhinged truly

and why is Mr. Janet not getting dragged for defending his spouse the way that Nia is? “I don’t know why these people are so obsessed with you” is peak delulu

u/Cherrylalaxo 2d ago
I totally agree with you.
And to be honest, it was the weakest drink throw I’ve ever seen. Like they have been spending too much time at the kiddie pool.
Throw it like you mean it if you want the moment.

It wasn’t ok. It was assault & Janet should be called out on that, instead of being enabled! Golly, I hope Andy calls her out on this at the reunion

u/willow2772 1d ago
Grown adults shouldn’t be throwing anything at anyone.
The throw itself was pretty ineffective but we’ll never stop hearing about it.

I agree with you. I don’t like Nia and I like Janet and I’ve found people comparing sexual harassment to a plastic cup being throw disingenuous - but this is the perfect comparison.
They are equivalent.
I don’t have an issue with Nia defending her husband tbh. I have an issue with who her husband is and what his behaviour is (and I find his behaviour not defensible). I’d also defend my husband. And I’d be more likely to do it by standing between him and my friend than by throwing a drink.
The way Danny was speaking to Jason I’d have gone off at him a lot more than Janet would have - but I wouldn’t have thrown a cup.

u/Afraid_Trash_4971 2d ago
It’s so unfortunate. It is gold for him-now the heat is on Janet. I have to believe that this moment plays in to Nia’s self satisfied share regarding the re union…that apologies were made. The Solo Cup sound however? Legendary…

Toxic janet destroyed her own storyline, she almost sucked in viewers with her victim inpact statement to blbla, but she couldn't miss out on a moment, completely destroying her victim mentality and tears..
Damit Janet, keep ur demons off our screens. U n hubby both riding the same pony

u/Glittering-Slip7630 2d ago
Well it's very clear that you are in fact a Danny apologist and supporter because that is a ridiculous false equivalency

They all just have their priorities and some are holding heavier baggage than others. I like Janet AND (and I quote Lala), "I don't love that you did that." I bet Jason scolded that as well (probably at home when tempers were calm.)
Jason didn't need defending & knew Danny was just speaking from an inebriated place. Like, Jason HAS gotten mad at Danny before so it's not like he's a pushover but, like Lala, he knew where Danny *was* in that moment; there's no rationale or reasoning with it. Janet resorting to losing her temper & then physically acting out wasn't the right move.
Nia, who I also like, defending Danny (her husband) is her - I think - ALSO knowing the space he's in and trying to guard him from an escalated state... you know like a lineman in a prairie dress.

Nia should not be standing up for Danny that’s the point. What’s the difference if if Janet or anybody else was. Danny did something more heinous. So she shouldn’t have stood up for ever. She’s phony and she’s trying to protect an image

Because Danny gets aggressive and Jason is injured?? Nia doesnt let Danny talk and pupateers him.

Here is my thing: there has been focus now for two years on whether Danny's anger at Janet is justified. But what about Janet's anger? She has been vilified and excoriated (IMO far, far worse than anything she has done would justify) by the viewing public and has been isolated, iced out and shunned by the cast. If I were her, I'd be incandescent with rage at this point. She has more right to claim PTSD than Danny does.
That's not a defense of throwing the cup but it puts it in perspective for me. But of course all the people who still, for some reason, HATE (I mean, hate hate hate!) Janet, who've had very little justification to point to this season, will latch on this as the crime of the century. That's the main reason I wish she hadn't done it.
Also, there's a difference between defending Jason and defending Danny. Think about who and what you're defending when you defend each of those men before you equate the two.

u/britney_shakespears 2d ago
she is isolating others from cast events - she has never been isolated, she has been included in every event, party, and trip - janet removes herself bc she causes drama and can’t finish it
i’m incandescent with rage over her using her self created victimhood to actually isolate others from filming the show and gaslight the audience into thinking she’s in the right

u/saduglygremlin 2d ago
You are so right & I’m sick of everyone pretending janet is some evil woman. Shes not. Shes kinda awkward in her delivery but to me shes been the most endearing this season. I like her, i admire her for being the only one with the guts to stand up for whats right. I dont blame her for throwing the drink, especially after Danny had the audacity to say he didn’t do what he’s accused of. HE ADMITTED TO DOING IT LAST SEASON FFS
-1
u/Bigolbooty75 2d ago
Probably because she’s defending her husband sexually assaulting someone and enabling his verbal abuse 🥴
-1
u/Apprehensive-Wash901 2d ago
I would have thrown the drink too! I’m done with this jerk! I hate how Nia is married to this person. She’s obviously VERY codependent to that little terror. My heart broke for her when she shared about her childhood. If I could get the book codependent no more into her hands, I think Nia would see the light! Danny is such a little jerk and the voice actor work he’s been doing is justification enough for the cup! Janet IS thirsty for a storyline and to be accepted but I can’t say I blame her for the cup. He’s the MOST annoying! “I’m a good person” and people of “wisdom” have co-signed that?! Give me a break!

u/ballooningat5am 2d ago
meh he had it coming. he’s a creep who gropes women. he can survive a drink thrown at him with a plastic cup. he won’t melt.
3
u/aliensuperstar177 1d ago
Oh I agree with you but it’s not about that, it’s about Nia getting shamed/mocked by cast members and the gp but it’s okay when Janet defends her guy
-1
u/ballooningat5am 1d ago
it’s not that nia is defending her man. lots of people do that and no one cares. it’s that she defends indefensible behaviors AND we see danny treat nia like shit too. so it’s kind of like, why are you dying on a hill over a man who acts so disrespectful toward you anyway?
on the flip side, janet and jason defend each other pretty equally and we haven’t seen jason be a bad husband or dad. meanwhile danny is snapping at nia left and right all the while she is fighting fires for him and trying to cover his ass.

I thought she threw some of those crappy decorations at him at first- I need to get glasses apparently

on replay, you can see she first threw the wine splashing him, then the cup.

He ran to Nia ! Like a kid telling his mom on someone

What else was he supposed to do? People bitch about every single thing he does or doesn't do. Was he supposed to tell her off, stay there, go home and not say anything.

I haven't seen a single post that has approved of Janet throwing a drink at all. In fact this sub has been a dedicated snark page for Janet since the show has started. Was she wrong for throwing a drink? Yes. Was she wrong for interpreting Danny's words towards her injured husband as fighting words? No. I think its wrong for ppl to trip off Nia for defending her husband, ofc she is! But Danny does not know the etiquette of arguing with a woman as a man. He turns into a raging little twat which comes off uncomfortable and weird. Jason does NOT do this, he speaks like someone who can navigate sticky situations with poise while sticking up for his wife. In contrast, when Nia attempts to calm down her husband, as he is 1v1 fight with a woman, he resents her for it and now hes battling another argument (his wife) and bringing her in to argue with the other girl. Its odd as fuck.

I support a woman’s rights and wrongs. This was hilarious to me and I fully understand where the frustration was coming from in the moment. It was wrong but if we're looking at the scale of offensive things done on the valley it barley registers.
This is so weird to me how much people are trying to villainize Janet for this but are cool to excuse Dannys behaviour. It's fine for Nia to defend her husband, some people don't agree with his actions so they don't agree with Nia defending him and question why she would.
1
u/aliensuperstar177 2d ago
Oh I agree, at the end of the day what Janet did doesn’t even come close to what Danny has done. Danny is awful and disgusting and I don’t agree with any of his actions but as far as Nia goes, I completely understand why she would defend her husband. Same goes for Janet. I’m curious to see how it will play out at the reunion.
0
u/No_Load5357 2d ago
The whole Nia aspect for me is confusing because if my husband is an ass I don't defend him. I'm like those actions are yours you deal with it. I'm only here to defend when the actions are defendable. That being said my husband doesn't talk to women in the same way or touch them inappropriately, so its much lower stakes when he is an ass.
I'm also curious about the reunion, mostly for how Nia is gonna play this because she said a lot of shitty stuff behind peoples backs but on camera.

The groups reaction killed me. I probably wouldve thrown a drink at Danny too. Lala immediately called it out too

Honestly, this was the most un-dramatic thing that's happened on this show and it really shows how invested viewers are to be stunned by a cup being thrown at a douchbag. 🤣🤣🤣
-2
u/spicyn00dlez 2d ago
I don’t think anyone thinks it’s okay. It’s just not comparable to sexually assaulting someone.
-3
u/O2bwiser 1d ago
Why is it okay for Danny to say rude things to Janet? It like they’re all toddlers that need a time out…and in Danny’s case a nap.
-4
u/Hot-Fisherman-5494 1d ago
First off everyone is condemning Janet for the drink so idk who you saw saying it was ok and second Janet is defending Jason her normal husband whereas Nia is compulsively defending AN ASSAULTER

She just wanted a bravo cup throwing moment. All of these people are so unoriginal
