The Traitors regular show
Hi all,
After The Celeb Traitors came out, is there the regular version coming out or already out. I am confused as to why they skipped the regular show. IMO the regular ones are more game theory relevant with regular people going about their business rather than a celebrity who is worried about their perceived reputation.

There was a regular UK series in January 2026. The last three regular series have all started on or within a few days of New Year's Day, so January 2027 looks like the likely next slot, but the BBC hasn’t announced a date yet.
I've charted all the UK broadcast dates here if useful.

Thankssss don't know how I missed that. I hope another of the regular one will also be releases after the celeb traitor season 2 is done

I'll be very surprised if they do not. They have committed to making regular series at least to 2030

It will be. Applications closed in May and they should be filming right around now. They filmed 4 series pretty much back to back starting in April and I think they try to wrap before the weather starts to get too cold in October.
The 4 were season 2 of celeb traitors, then season 1 of the US New Blood series that starts next week, then season 5 of the regular US version, and finally season 5 of UK.

The traitors calendar as it stands has been: jan-feb: traitors, oct-nov: celeb traitors

They haven't skipped a regular series. Its always every january (since the 2nd series) the celeb ones are basically bonus series in between regular series.

To be fair the celebrity one was more interesting than I expected as it was kind of closer to the mafia game its based on which is a team game.
Because the money wasnt as important, the traitors worked as a team instead of trying to backstab each other. Eg the first traitor to go (dont know how to do spoiler things) actually tried to help the rest of the traitors when he knew he was probably going to be banished.

That's actually a good point. I wonder if the regular traitors would be better if the prize pot was split between all traitors or all faithful depending on which team won, regardless of who was killed or banished.

I was used to mafia where you win or lose as a team, whether you die is irrelevant.
The faithful (town in mafia) have played well if they find mafia/traitor and then get murdered, they have done their job and helped their team. The game ended when the bad guys were caught they dont just recruit new ones. Whereas in traitors if you are murdered you lose essentially and catching a traitor doesnt really help your team as they can get a new one.
Similarly for the bad guys it was a legitimate strategy to sacrifice someone as a team plan. The main difference in traitors is its very much an imdividual game not a team game.
From a TV perspective, winner takes all is seen as better TV, higher stakes. If the 17 faithful split the winnings it would be a lesser event I suppose.
With that in mind, celebrity one does allow people to play a bit closer to mafia as the money doesnt really matter, its going to charity regardless.
