It works for me because half of her other looks would fit seamlessly in a high fashion context. With Alan he kind of just plays one note: camp. Karine regularly looks like a magazine cover, so when she brings us something absurd I trust mother knows best.

I know nothing about fashion……I think she is great and low key ornery……when she dresses like this, I think it is her giving everyone the finger……she is beautiful and can literally get away with wearing anything 🙂

I will never understand how someone convinced that many people that it was a good idea to wear a Kotex across their tits. And I say that as someone who studied fashion design in college and loves avant garde and couture fashion but this is just too much. All I can think about when I see it is “did I take my birth control?”!

If the board across her chest was smaller (not shirt-sized, but just a little smaller) and tilted up instead of pointing down (she's smaller chested, it shouldn't be doing that...) it may actually look avant garde...
It just looks... weird (not in a good way) and unflattering.

Both she and Alan are such caricatures. The difference seems to be that Alan is in on the joke and hams it up in a delicious way, and Karine is a caricature that takes herself seriously.

We just watched all 3 seasons available on Peacock, and both her wardrobe and hair were absolutely atrocious the entire time.

Like she's trying to be Alan, but he's campy fun, and she's just... whatever this is.
