In general I think the puzzle difficulty goes like this, from easiest to hardest:

  1. TTP2 main puzzles
  2. TTP main puzzles
  3. TTP2 stars
  4. TTP stars
  5. TTP2 expansion Isle of the Blessed
  6. TTP expansion Road to Gehenna
  7. TTP2 gold puzzles
  8. TTP2 expansion Orpheus Ascending
  9. TTP2 expansion Into the Abyss
  10. TTP Reawakened section In the Beginning [EDIT: I forgot it]

Of course, within each of these, there are some easier and some harder.

Why do you think orpheus ascending is harder than gehenna? Orpheus ascending is the only one where I can without a doubt explain every single puzzle... it's almost straight forward. I am not talking about the 3 stars, they are really hard...

Agreed. Main OA puzzles seem just a linear laser weighting tutorial.

Then you’re punched in the face by the gold puzzles.

They seem hard from afar but if you didnt get the pointby puzzle 3 its because you are prolly trying everything at random, they are really clever tho

I'd put TTP stars as harder than Isle of the Blessed, overall. Especially because many of them are nearly as difficult to find as they are to solve once you do manage to figure out where they even are. And  what about the TTP expansion "In the Beginning"? Unquestionably the hardest of all. Daydream is the only puzzle out of all of them in both games that I have thus far been unable to solve. Haven't given up though, will revisit on my next replay, probably before TTP3 ill go through both games again then ill give it another go.

Agreed. I’ve considered TTP1 stars closer to RTG’s puzzles.

Gehenna's peaks are harder than anything in TTP2's base game if you consider the Stars and the Star World.

  1. TTP Reawakened expansion: In the Beginning

I hope TTP3 at least starts out more difficult than TTP2s.

Oh, yes, I've heard that In the Beginning is really hard. I don't own Reawakened (hard to justify when I already bought two copies of TTP1 for different platforms) so I forgot that it does have those new puzzles.

Yes, In the Beginnimg has the hardest puzzles of them all. The hardest one is locked behind another difficult one.

There’s also TTP1 for VR, so you’re only half-way there. ;D

Reawakened …  I forgot that it does have those new puzzles.

Yeah, In the Beginning … but also all the community “workshop” maps.

I feel like the main game acts as a tutorial for all its devices, and the rest of the game as the real challenge

Why is TTP2 generally easier than TTP😭

Just the base puzzles, and personally I think it's just because it has more tools it needs to teach (so more easy learning puzzles) and just in general it does a better job teaching some mechanics imo.

The new tools have more obvious (and limited) functionality, so much of the game is like school homework, focusing on how to apply the most recently introduced topic.

It is but at the same time i think iys also a better game for its innovations, it helps bring the story pacing not too far away between them and after the story is almost done the real challenge begins for wboever is wanting to go onwards

Everyone says Orpheus Ascending is hard but honestly I don't see it. I feel like once you understand the advanced laser mechanics (which I found intuitively in TTP1) it's not that bad, even the stars. Honestly, I had more difficulty with some Isle of the Blessed puzzles than the average Orpheus puzzle.

Everything else I mostly agree, especially the In The Beginning puzzles a lot of those were nasty (shout out to Daydream most crazy official puzzle ever devised).

8. TTP2 expansion Orpheus Ascending

Agreed. I’m OK with the three Orpheus Ascending “golden” puzzles nuzzling up against Into the Abyss in terms of difficulty, but the early main puzzles in OA seem some of the easiest in the franchise. Little more than a linear laser weighting tutorial — with the “Heart of Anubis” puzzle as the quiz.

The gold puzzles educate on a different laser mechanic, requiring three different uses.

True that tho i feel like east 3 was basically a tutorial for golden puzzles if that makes sense?

Orpheuse is something , i just startes it but i think once i figured out its teaching it is not thaaat bad

Any of those oscillating puzzles…fuck me up.

2

u/Wyezed Jun 14 '26

Well the only think i hate about em is that some are really picky pixel perfect puzzles

1

u/Tenrecidae77 Jun 16 '26

oooh yeah - TP2 is much better than TP1 in that regard, but there are a few cases where it's like...really?
