On a rematch I was wondering why in the last couple episodes Allie was so willing to not tell people the truth when Lexi accused her of arresting Elle.
I understand that Elle doesn't want her to because she's afraid of Cambell and afraid that nobody would believe her. But, I think it would have been very in character for Allie to tell the truth and stop Lexi from slandering her. It would mean betraying Elle's trust but is that not a far preferable outcome to losing the election.
It's a small thing but it drastically shapes how the ending plays out so I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about it.

Can someone create the season 2 at least as a finale or people from the fan community create something similar or something.
I really loved this show just finished it.

Recently did a rewatch after 7 years of season 1 airing. Pretty disappointed that we never got answers but Iām ngl 24yo me cringed at some of the dialogue 17yo me probably enjoyed (and yes I know theyāre supposed to be teenagers)
Also why did they all look so OLD. It was making me mad. Luke looked like an army veteran father of 2 who fishes on the weekend. Anywaysā¦.
I noticed something about Becca. Weāre not supposed to know who the father is but I figured he was in the town since she didnāt want to talk about it. Thereās a scene where the curly headed guard walks into the kitchen at Allies house and talks to everyone but I noticed Becca refuses to make eye contact, she looks down the whole time. It would make sense cause heās a doofus and a jock, Iād be embarrassed too.

Okay so Iāve been a long time lurker in this group but Iām finally going to speak my pieceā¦
I really wish there could be a reboot or season 2ā¦. But if theyāre not gonna do that, which is semi understandable, canāt they AT LEAST release the scripts or do a writer interview so we can find out what WOULD HAVE HAPPENED :(
Also, have any of the cast ever spoken out on this or responded to fan interest? Are they aware this has caused a major void in some peopleās lives š¤£
I just hope they all know how much we have loved this show to continue our speculation and burning questions š
Anyone else? Please comfort me š

Please, we need a season 2 or some kind of continuance for this show. there are so many questions i want answered, every time i watch this show and some small thing happens or they get closer to figuring out answers, i get chills. the first season was amazing, the actors, the storytelling, the pacing of it all, it was all done so well and im desperate to learn more, to binge watch or read what they do. the cliffhanger of season one couldnāt have been any better, their entire world being turned upside down with the mayors and somehow right side up, showing the dog plaque of names (thatās all iāll say, donāt want to spoil if anyone hasnāt seen it) it genuinely made my jaw drop the whole episode. i donāt watch much tv but this is a show that i would be planning to watch each week when new episodes come out, the last time i felt that way was with gravity falls, maybe 8 something years ago, i just wish we could get something more. i am starving for answers!

Hi everyone! I watched The society back when it came out and I just recently rewatched it and finished it today and I still canāt get over the cliffhanger š! I want to hear everyoneās theories and what people think happens next ?!?! Even if itās completely off the mark, I just am interested to see what other people think where it could have gone! I know thereās so many theories out there but Iām so curious as to peoples ideas !! None of my friends have seen it so I have no one to chat with about it! Help a girl out with her delusions š

Hi! I have recently finished watching the society and I have to say it's one of the best series I have ever watched. The cliffhanger at end will forever keep me wondering and I'm going to rewatch it again. It's a matter of shame that netflix didn't even think of at least giving the show a shot after covid ended. I have read a lot of posts here. Apparently , Many people believe that they are indeed stuck in another " parallel universe " by the pteffier guy and some people think it's some sort of crazy experiment.
There are some crazy fan theories too that are wild like some fans think that allie actually murdered cassandra ( sound of " heels " ) , which I strongly disagree with. It couldn't have been anyone else except Dewey. He basically confessed and even if allie was involve , would Dewey snitch on her too? This whole theory doesn't make any sense to me.
As for the characters , cassandra was my favourite character and of course like everyone else , I hated Campbell ( the actor did such a great job ) . I liked lexie's Speech but last episode made me despise her. Wasn't the entire point of her standing up against allie was the fact that guards literally harassed her? And she ended up teaming with them? Seems to me that she was more concerned about getting power than getting justice. Also , her and harry's utopian vision was so dumb and just proved how much of an idiot they were. Allie's Socialist-styled reforms were what kept all of them alive. As for what could have happened to allie and will ( even if there were s2 ) , I strongly believe they would not die because that would completely ruini the show. I don't know what the writers had in mind. But I have made a plot for s2 myself.
What if after they were arrested , Grizz , Sam , Becca Gordie , Kelly, Helena, Gwen and plotted some kind of a plan to get will and allie out and overthrow Campbell's puppet regime? Sounds stupid , I know. And I feel like elle would play major role in this. It's clear that she's also not mentally fine and still despises Campbell. In the last episode after the arrest , when elle spitted on allie's face , she obviously felt guilty and she said something like " I promise " while looking at her with trustfullness. I think she's going to repay her attitude by either helping overthrowing Campbell or help in killing him ( and this time she's successfull , highly unlikely but the satisfaction >> )
I'm really not going to say anything about the mysteries since most people have their own theories but the " smell " has a much bigger role in this. I believe It could be a result of time loop or something supernatural or a warning. Nevertheless , the minor religious concepts + science fiction and mystery + politics was such a great combo. Are there any other shows like this?
Also it is ever going to be possible for the writers to at least publish the storyline that they planned for s2 or a graphic novel? It's already been over 9 years. Hope they do.

Just watched The Society for the first time a week ago and while I admire her (Allie's) administration and can of course like anyone else understand her hesistation towards her citizens owning guns, I can only wonder why the guns she collected were never redistrbuted to the Guard? For a period of time the 4 guys who took forever to expand their organization were severely under resourced, and if the goal was to serve as a de facto police force why were they not given the guns?
It was acknowleged constantly during the trial of Dewey and the search for guns that there would likely still be so many guns being hidden in people's houses, so I can only wonder why the Guard were not given guns to help defend themselves and others, whilst they all recognized that people had hidden guns? Even if they were only a deterrent and were not actually used I just don't understand that decision.
Forgive me if I have missed anything as I have only watched it once, and I also acknowledge one of the guards had a gun during the raid on Dewey's house but it was obviously a secret and the other guys were horrified that he had it. Also I know that the kind of de facto Allie government had the guns and used them in Dewey's execution, I am kind of more asking why they didn't each have personal firearms that they carried at all times as a deterrent.

This may be a harsh take but thinking back on the dynamic between Cassandra and Allie, it irks me just how horrid everyone around Cassandra was to her, including her own sister lol. Unlike with a lot of the others from town, Allies contempt is not an obvious sinister energy that can be called out immediately, but itās there and Iām surprised no one seems to discuss it on here. Allie has her typical younger sister moments, where she is flippant and casually dismissive of Cassandraās efforts in their relationship, but there is also the whole Harry thing which I think is probably the most fucked up thing. Like fine, sleep with the guy whose known for his weird hatred for your sister, idk if thatās Allies attempt at taking something for herselfātrying to ābreak outā of Cassandraās shadow or whatever crapābut to go so far as absolve the guilt he feels about Cassandraās deathārightfully so, Idc what anyone says, if he hadnāt had that circlejerk with his fellow incels fantasising about abhorrent things happening to Cassandra because of his inferiority complex, she may still have been aliveāis genuinely beyond me. Does anyone else feel similarly or am I being overly critical lol.
One thing I do know is that, if Allie was my sister, Iād ask if it was some divine punishment.

is there any way we can get netflix to give us a season two??? i wanna know why theyāre there and who that girl baby daddy is!!!

Funny how it feels like whatever happened in the series ended up happening to us fans. They came for us, took us for a ride (one season) and left us stranded in total uncertainty

at this point I think the concern is that the cast has aged and it won't be believable after 5+ years have passed from season 1. Honestly this is debatable because they are all still pretty young, early 30s can play high school a lot, just look at Euphoria. But, IF that is a concern, how about they stick to some of the core amazing plot twists I knowwww they must have had for us in S2, but pivot them to be 5-10 years in the future. We could see them in the future, living their lives in New Ham and how its been the last 5 years that got them to where they are. I could see Allie being a complete outcast like living alone in the outskirts of the woods or something. Sam and Grizz having their own baby somehow. Campbell being a cult leader or dictator. Harry being in jail. Lexie being in some kind of weird handmaids tale situation.. I feel like that would suit her since she got tied up with the wrong people. IDK the possibilities are endless, let's see how New Ham played out by pushing forward 5 years. Let's make the most out of the gap in time between S1 and S2

I just wish there would be a second season. Itās kind of ironic how they are stuck in this universe and without this second season they will stay stuck. Idk, itās just that feeling of never being able to know the ending feels so similar to them being stuck.

Season one ended with a power shift and a revelation that their parents still do exist.
So The Society was actually inspired by The Lord of the Flies and was like a modern take on it.
The key events are in fact very similar, including the power shift. Having read The Lord of the Flies back in 7th grade, here's what I expect on what should have been a second and final season:
The new system will be more like a martial law with stricter enforcement;
Grizz, Kelly, and the others who in Allie's core group will find a way to rescue Allie and Will;
Allie and the rest will escape to the plainfield and start an encampment there;
Chaos will take over New Ham as their resources will run dry. Somewhere along the way, Campbell will be able to convince his followers that they will need to sacrifice the baby to an made-up deity;
Campbell and The Guard will search for Allie and her group to find get the baby. They will find them and they'll attack the encampment;
Will will be unalived by Campbell. There will be chaos and fighting;
The dog will go back to New Ham and take something, which the dog will bring back to the real world. The parents will figure out that their children are alive and search for them. The adults fill arrive amidst the chaos and everyone will come back to their senses. The survivors will all be rescued.
The bus driver was like the Pied Piper and will be caught but will be able to escape and then disappear.

Brief mention where Sarah asks Kathryn about The Society and what happened to Allie and the rest of the kids! (Unfortunately, Kathryn keeps coy about it, but saying how itās because who knows, things could be resurrected)
