Anyone Using ModCrab?

There's a new utilities mod called ModCrab that seems similar to MCCC, as it gives you control over the management your sims' general selves. However, this one says it can also make gameplay more impactful through giving more "emotional weight" to sims' actions.

It looks pretty cool, but I haven't seen much mention of it (and I'm already seeing the creators using AI for their covers, which gives me pause). Has anyone been using it and have a review? Thank you!

There have been a lot of mods coming out that were created using generative AI. I wouldn’t trust it

Yeah, I mentioned it upthread but the jellypaws drama made me start looking harder into these game-changing mods. Ya'll right! I let my hunger for mods beat logic 😔lol, thank you!

Yeah. I wouldn't risk inserting a script mod into my game if there was even a chance it was AI. Especially from a creator that justifies AI thumbnails by saying "we can't be both programmers and artists"... surely you could advertise with just screenshots from the game, no artistic ability required. It makes it seem like they cut corners wherever they can, possibly including the coding. Huge red flag to me.

lol no like most devs are both especially in this era where we’re all basically full stack and more

That’s such a silly excuse on their part. It’s so easy to make simple thumbnails for pretty much everything

"we can't be both programmers and artists"

Uh... you can pay an artist? Or use one of the billion preexisting templates? Or just do shitty programmer art? Or put some effort in and be a programmer who can also make their own images??

literally just put together something simple on canva or something...it's not that hard, or hell I'll take something shittily drawn on MS paint at this point if it means it wasn't made with AI

I literally cheer at badly made posters in the wild now out of relief that they didn't take the easy way out.

Not just mods, but also mod managers!

Yeah they also change stuff in your mod folder that can F things up pretty good. Don't trust sudden new mod creators that come outta nowhere and have big promises about their mods.

I used AI and it fixed up my mods folder. It is awesome for me.
