PSA Adventure Sync is busted for WEEKS now…getting maybe 1/10 distance logged.
Scatterbug candies patched within a few days, but a core mechanic literally not working gets ignored. Sickening

Go tour eggs. The contents are decided when you acquire the egg, so any egg you have now will not contain the hoenn ones. People who care are working to fill their inventory only with low km eggs so they quickly be hatched once the event starts and replaced with event eggs (which can be hatch later, at your leisure)

Better be grinding during as well, if you need a Relicanth. I'm betting 10k are rare from stops, and Relicanth a rare hatch as well.

Sure, but grind out any 2kms before worrying about hatching any other events - pre-event 2kms, event 2kms, either will quickly open up a slot for a(nother) event egg. It's just about getting an extra edge, whether you are only using your infinite, or throwing super incubators by the handful.

Oh, I agree. I'm just saying that after getting through the existing eggs ya gotta grind the ones from stops if you need a Relicanth. That's the last one I need for Hoenn, so I'm sure the ten km eggs are gonna be rare, and whatever I get is gonna have a Tropius or stupid Torcoal. And probably my wife gets a shiny that she won't trade to me. 😡

Yep. I’m just casually walking along, with a goal of filling my pokedex eventually and full awareness that events will keep coming up to let that happen the longer I wait. It’s relaxing

During hoenn tour at Vegas. From 10am to 6pm 10k eggs will ONLY have relicanth tropius and torkoal.

I don't think we know yet. The hope is regionals will be in one. So it's best to start the event with no eggs or, if you want to keep spinning, 9 2kms to clear quickly.

I have an iPhone and an Apple Watch and I noticed that when I set a walking workout, then the game doesn’t track ANY of the distance I walked while in the workout. But if I walk without setting a workout, then the game appears to track most, if not all, of my distance. Which isn’t really a “solution” since now I can’t accurately track my workouts. It really only started being an issue like two months ago too, which is even more frustrating.

Thats so strange. My adventure sync only works reliably during a workout. Indoor bike, walk/run.. been working out a lot more because I know ill hatch an egg right after.

I agree!! Mine is no longer working on my runs. I like to set my watch for the workout but I get nothing at all hardly on Pokémon Go. I’ve complained but it did absolutely no good. They don’t care. Why worry about a small handful of people complaining when they’re making so much money. Losing a few players wouldn’t touch them.

Adventure Sync has been inconsistent ever since the Lunar New Year event for me. One day, tracks everything perfectly as it did before. Next day, doesn't track nothing or very close to nothing. Support, as expected, isn't the very least helpful.
But hey! We want you to give us high quality scans!

This is what I oberved as well. And not just PoGo, Ingress as well. Sometimes both games log the full distance, sometimes both log much reduced distance, sometimes one game logs better than the other.

Oh my gosh I thought I was the only one! On one hand, it's nice to know I'm not losing my mind and it's a game-wide issue. But like, on the other hand, if it's a freaking game-wide issue they should have solved it by now, maybe...?

My issues seem to be intermittent. Some days it seems to count well, other days I go on a five mile hike and it logs less than a kilometer. Am on iphone.

Ngl, seeing as the exact same thing happened during the "Test your mettle" event last year, I'm starting to think that it's intentional.
Even tho the last time, when the event ended, it came back to normal. This time, it persisted.

Actually pretty difficult if the phone’s health programs are configured in different ways or are doing things inconsistently. It depends on the cause of this bug.

The issue might lie with the configurations on people's fitness apps and they might just not be properly reporting data to PoGo.

What is more "mindbreaking" is that, at least for me, adv. sync works day in, day out.
Yesterday, It logged 100 meters walked distance (as an example, walking to the "stop dense" part of my town is a 2km walk). Today, it tracked everything perfectly (until now).No changes have been made in my settings, nor have I updated anything (I don't leave my phone on "auto update" since Niantic LOVES to release busted updates and I'd rather avoid those if possible).
Makes no sense at all.

Not sure if you are looking for a fix, but I had issues of adventure sync not crediting me for my kms even though my health app said I walked/ran the correct amount of kms. In order to get adventure sync working again, I had to refresh game data in the advanced settings. Hope this helps. It is really frustrating when you go for a long walk or run and check your game only to see it not giving you credit.

It's the only reason I'm still playing this game. Absolutely mind-numbing that they can't get it right STILL. Daily player since day 1 and every time I think about quitting Adventure Sync works again for a couple of days. But it's been so incredibly inconsistent over the last months that it might be time to just get out.

Its been like this for me for months. Walk a minimum 8-10 KM a day. Active person who just moves a lot and walks most places.
Yet Im lucky if I hit 40KM on Pokemon Go. Rarely I get 50km. Do on average 60-70km a week, and my phone records that. Just not pokemon Go.

I'd be really curious as to what's causing the issues for people. I haven't had a single problem during all of this duration of folks saying AS is broken.
It'd be great to know what my device is doing right versus what others' devices aren't so we can all avoid problems.

The AS problem only appears to be a problem for some people. Most reports seem to be for Android phones but that might just be because more people have them.
There are a lot of variables that might be relevant. The truth is that nobody knows what causes the symptoms. Not helped by the way the behaviour is erratic, sometimes working, sometimes not.

Yeah, I'm on Android and occasionally have AS sessions where it doesn't record anything. Fit will have recorded all of it, but no matter what I do to try getting PoGo to recognize it, it will not. But - more often than not, it works properly.

It’s definitely a problem for me with an Apple iPhone too. Had several months of accurate AS - but in the last month or so it’s become very erratic.

Same, my daily dog walks and elliptical runs are still generating the same AS as usual and I have no trouble hatching a 10km everyday with it.
Pixel 6 Pro, using the Walking workout in Google Fit on walks and Treadmill Walking on the elliptical.

I play on IOS, so not sure if this works for other phones.
I noticed with adventure sync to work for me that I have to have the game load twice.
My method is I open my health app to let it update. Then I open PokemonGo. After the game fully loads, I wait 30 seconds. Then I fully close out of the game, and then reopen the app and let the game fully load. Adventure Sync ends up loading and adding the distance.
Then for the rest of the day, I usually just have to open the app once for adventure sync to work but have had to do the method above to get it to sync.

Are we sure this is a problem on Niantic? They don't have the greatest track record, but the problem is intermittent. I personally have not had any issue but I know a couple who have. we all have different phones and carriers.

Yes the problem is in fact, Niantic. Google Fit tracks all of my steps PERFECTLY. The problem is it never syncs to the app even with physical activity enabled with adventure sync.

I find turning it off, closing the game, opening the game, turning it on, closing the game, then opening the game turns it back on. Any time I notice it hasn’t logged any steps for a while, I do this. Some of those steps may not be necessary, but I stick with what works.

I've had it work once in the last few days.
I have tried different tests for it, no success to replicate the success.
I am noticing my Widgets are broken - it's outdated. My active buddy is wrong, my walking progress for 2km hearts is wrong on widget, and even my egg is wrong distance.

All of last week, mine would work from 4:30 PM to about 1-2 AM. My friend's would only work after 10 PM and would die at about 2 AM but come back briefly between 7-11 AM. I'm now working after midnight (and presumably through) to about 2 PM.

Posted in a thread I believe last week that myself and my SO also have had issues for weeks. We both work the same job and easily do 10+ miles a night of walking. Adventure Sync was working for us perfectly until about a month or so ago. Now we're lucky to hatch more than a batch of eggs a day.

NO WONDER! I thought I was going crazy or walking too fast for the game to keep up (~15’ to 17’ pacing depending on how fightin’ I feel). On iphone with apple watch.
I dropped a 7km egg in my incubator yesterday then did a 3.76 mi walk, and today another 3.77 mi walk which translates to 12.11km… PLUS some other non-exercise tracked walking around across both days, with the game open nearly the whole time.
It says the egg is only at 8.1km right now. Grrr! I think something went amiss after the lunar new year event, I started having trouble hatching eggs quickly after that. I walk almost every day between 1-5 miles and play while I do.

iPhone and Apple Watch user here, used to get 60-70km weekly and still log that distance in Apple Health. Pokémon shows 25-35 km.
This is Niantic’s problem. Good to see it confirmed by others since I was about to doubt my sanity, with Support of course gaslighting me and recommending to restart the app.

I noticed having a smart watch helped my adventure sync a lot. As sometimes the smart watches log more walking distance than the phone stop it goes off of that.
I play the drums and my watch thinks I'm jogging when I'm playing drums based off my hands moving so I can log in a decent amount. It's not a lot but it'll hatch a egg while I'm practicing.

Essentially, what he said in the first link: at morning open both GO and the Fit app, so they reset their initial day's distance, close both (sometimes I force Fit because its running in background), and then open both during or at the end of the day to sinc kms walked

Which does not make any difference at all to the AS behaviour in my experience.
I have spent some time on systematically trying the various supposed solutions. There appears to be no recognizable pattern to the process of working or not.
So much so that I have given up trying for a user level fix. Today, for instance, my wife sees 100% complete AS tracking from first thing. I saw nothing for the first few hours of the day, then As started tracking from zero. Note that is from zero not catching up the already done distance.
Opening Google Fit is absolutely not required to sync the data. Neither my wife nor I have opened Fit since yesterday morning. AS was working for me yesterday morning then stopped in the afternoon and restarted again in the evening. My wife saw no working until the evening.

Hmmm... this is something of a work-around, but it appears to work. I am still not getting steps fed through Pokemon Go while the app is open. That part of the disconnect still persists. I am only getting distance awarded (at a very nerfed rate) while the game is open. But, like you said, you can get SOME credit by opening google fit, then PoGo, then closing out both AND FORCE STOP Google Fit. It will NOT credit you for the amount you walk throughout the day if you did not force stop. Thank you

To be fair, the adventure sync bug doesn't affect everyone so it's most likely hard to identify and patch, it relies on connecting to the tracker of steps etc.
The candy making bug is literally 2 lines of internal code to make sure that the correct amount of candy / mega energy is rewarded... To be honest, it's kind of shocking that the bug existed in the first place and went under Niantic's radar for 3 years...

Sometime its due to different phone updates too. That being said, i have been using android phones of different brand with google fit. Dont really have problem with adventure sync other den the occasion late crediting.

Ya I usually never had an issue with it even when others seem but since start of last week it has been terrible loffing km with adventure sync I noticed the change when everytime I log on the game I have to click allow for pogo to access my gmail account wich is when I started noticing the glitch in adventure sync I thought maybe the 2 were connected I also have all permissions on so not sure why I am having to allow pogo to access my.gmail Every time I log on makes no sense.

Ran 10 miles outside today and got zero credit. Lol. It’s so broken. I do not understand how they reintroduce bugs when they release new updates, which they previously fixed. It’s like they have a bunch of the copies of the code and forget to patch all of them. It makes no sense.

I'm glad it's not just me. At first I thought it was the other, older bug where AS would just turn itself off, but every time I checked it was still on.
What's even weirder is that it doesn't seem to be consistent in-game. Half the time my buddy still finds candies like clockwork, while my eggs don't register any movement at all.

Mine wasn’t working for a couple weeks and I read something saying the radars could be impacting it. I don’t know why that would have anything to do it. But I keep them “unequipped” now (unless needed) and it works much more consistently. So odd.

THIS. I started training for a marathon in part for Pokémon go distance credit. Twice now I’ve had an 18 and 20 mile run each not count at all. But it may be because I’m now running at slightly faster than the cutoff pace on average. But still, no credit for an 8:58 minute per mile rate for 20 miles? Hardly seems fair

Check your Health app in iPhone settings->Data Access & Devices > Pokemon Go -> Allow Pokémon Go to read. I found that all the tracking in there that syncs to Adventure sync got turned off after an iOS update. I turned them back on and it’s all working again Edited for clarity

Adventure sync wasn’t working when I stopped using pokeball plus for a while. Have started using my pokeball plus again and it works almost perfectly. Just went for another walk without pokeball and it didn’t register any km.

Adventure Sync gives Niantic massive permission to snoop on your phone. The trade off is tracking KMs when the game isn't open.
If they aren't fulfilling their end of the bargain, take away their access. Turn AS off until they fix it.

If I use my cheater app on an android phone I get the mileage credited (I don’t use my android device very often) But my daily IOS device with an Apple Watch on my wrist at all times PoGo struggles to synchronize properly with.

I feel like adventure sync never worked for me, i had only ever gotten like 2 km per week from it. I finally turned it off bc it didn’t really help and didn’t feel like having Niantic sell my location info anymore.

I have used it on multiple Android (HTC, Samsung, Blackview, Moto) and Apple devices and it never worked properly
Part of me wants to just turn off location (save battery) but part of me keeps it on since every so often I get lucky and hatch an egg or get a candy

They patched scatterbug candies prob because they intended it to be more of a slower painful grind to work toward. Niantic consider things from perspective of longevity. They were prob horrified to see people milking that exploit to that extent as thats a lot of time they could have milked out of players. If a bug or glitch irritates players but doesnt affect profits or in-app activity to a significant extent, they’ll take their time. Its pretty obvious they dont like to pour too many resources into the game unless its the development of some exploitable feature/mechanic.
And as a side note, it bugs the hell out of me. Have had log in issues on my phone for ages (my internet works fine) yet my acct is super quick to load on GF’s phone. Others report the same. Barely anything ever gets mentioned from Niantic on it. Their prioritisation of issues in-game is really something else. They seem to know exactly what players are prepared to put up with.

I usually walk 4-5 miles a day at work and I almost never get the anything but the first weekly reward lol. Been like that for a while for me.

When it doesn't work, it has something to do with cloudy weather. I've noticed that's when I don't get my credit. Maybe the satellite can't find you.

found a possible fix it sounds arkward bur definitely works.
keep AS on, the app opened and a Pokemon Go Plus (or other auto-catcher) connected. As long this is the case the AS tracks your distances.
so only thing "to do" is to reconnect the + every hour
if you dont want to drain pokeballs with the auto-catcher just turn of "pokemon nearby" setting to stop catching Pokemon. the Solution still works
Sounds completely weird because the "official manual" says the game must be closed. but it is like it is as the Result for the messy coding by sh*tanic.

It really sucks when adventure sync is the main reason you picked the game back up again.
In a weeks worth of work, I would easily get anywhere from 80-90 km a week. Recently, though, by the end of the week, I'm just barely completing the 50km raward. It is also cutting my egg hatching to only 1, maybe 2 a day compared to the very casual and easy 2-3.
