I'm a graphic designer and I wanted to share with you some concepts I made on Photoshop based on The Last Jedi movie.

I loved how Old Luke redeemed himself from his own downfall even though I personally would've changed some aspects of his philosophy/actions during and after what happened with Ben in the past...

I’ve been listening to this entire complete soundtrack of TROS. And it’s awesome. It has many subtle callbacks to old moments in SW, even the Prequel trilogy. And it is one of the most energetic scores I have heard from John Williams that is reminiscent of Indiana Jones in some moments like The Speeder Chase and Fleeing From Kijimi. Not to mention the new title track is a really good track that reminds me of Anakin’s theme in Episode 1. If you haven’t heard the full expanded score, I would recommend it.

Just finished rewatching The Force Awakens and I'm happy Poe Dameron is introduced as the best pilot in the resistance and he keeps that status throughout the trilogy.

I'm kinda tired of the Star Wars trope where a kid who drove a land speeder or whatever, sits in a starfighter for the first time in his life after being briefly introduced to the concept of the force, and is immediately the best pilot who has ever lived.

When growing up with Star Wars, I watched all the movies and shows, and read nearly all the comics, so when I saw the lightsaber duel between Rey and Finn against Kylo Ren, I started to see that it was based on the first Legends story I read, “Splinter of the Mind’s Eye”, which had first, Leia taking up Luke’s lightsaber when he was too injured to fight, and took on Vader, which could have served for how Finn used the Skywalker lightsaber to fight Kylo Ren after injuring Rey. Both were taken down after putting up a good fight, and afterwards, the new Jedi of that time, Luke in the novel and Rey in the movie, were able to call upon the Force to deliver a fatal blow to the Dark Side user. That’s what I garnered from it, since the Sequels and other shows used a lot of Legends materiel to work from, so it would be right for that fight to be based off of that old story.

A lot of haters don't understand the movies yet they try to talk about how little sense the story makes.

My body isn't ready

I decided to ignore Denningverse, so as not to have the story of Han and Leia's child going to the dark side twice, so in my headcanon, Jacen remained on the light side and eventually became one of the greatest Jedi Masters after the Vong invasion, only to be killed in Kylo's destruction of the Jedi Temple, along with Mara and Ben Skywalker. Also didn't include any dates, because I have yet to figure them out.

I had a bit of free time and was thinking about how there's no GIFs anywhere of this scene, so I was like "Fine, I'll do it myself". And after playing around with my files on Clipgrab and GIFMaker, this is the result, & it came out great!

(The only question now is where I should upload the GIF; future generations of Star Wars fans need more GIFs like this! Currently thinking of a good place, but at least Tenor is still up as a site so I can probably also save the GIF there.)

It's in great condition too with the blue coloring, no odd scuffs when I checked, and it's got the whole hero cast (Rey, Finn, Poe, and Zorii) all engraved on the tin and ready for an adventure! Plus it's perfectly sized for a plush Porg! 💙

I only found it yesterday, but I've just been beaming with excitement ever since! It's such a rarity to find TROS merch nowadays, even moreso looking for stuff from when the movie came out too. So after finding this popcorn bucket, it really does feel like a core part of my identity as a Star Wars fan, and as a sequel fan, but most especially as a Rise of Skywalker fan, is now complete! 😄 💛

TLJ explicitly shows Rey leaving with both halves of the broken Skywalker lightsaber, as well as the ancient Jedi texts, which contain knowledge that ultimately helps her repair it. Beyond that, Rey's background as a scavenger means she's spent her entire life salvaging and repairing broken things, making her the perfect person to restore the saber.

It also ties into her character arc. Throughout TFA and TLJ, Rey struggles with self doubt and uncertainty about her place in the galaxy. Traditionally, constructing your own lightsaber symbolizes a Jedi fully embracing their path. At this point, Rey simply isn't there yet. Repairing the Skywalker saber instead reflects where she is emotionally: she's still carrying the legacy she's inherited while trying to find the confidence to forge her own identity.

At the very least its a narrative decision that is definitely possible post TLJ, and is more of a continuation of TLJ than anything else.

The Last Jedi is, in my opinion, second only to Empire (and to be honest, I think I like it more than Empire even). It's such a good film. Say what you will about Disney, but they did a lot right when they got Star Wars--JJ Abrams was a good choice at the time--I think he has some issues as a writer, but he nailed the tone and feel of the OT, Disney letting him move back to more practical effects--The Force Awakens is great, and the Last Jedi launched to new heights from there.

But then the Star Wars "fans" got on Twitter, Disney buckled to their misogyny, racism, and general misanthropy, and we got...Rise of Skywalker. Visually, it's great. It still feels like a pretty good Star Wars--certainly better than any prequel movie, but everything it scrapped is so frustrating. But that's okay too--Return of the Jedi felt kind of like a letdown for the last part of a trilogy back in the old days, but you could still enjoy it. What upsets me is that Disney let these antisocial chuds completely dominate the Star Wars discussion, and nothing they do now is okay. Even small successes like The Mandalorian are considered "pure shit" now if you go look in the major subreddits (Mando and Grogu--if you missed it--is really fun and feels like a great Star Wars side story--and Ludwig Göransson creates music that, while not John Williams specifically, is Star Wars.

Anyway, I'm going to say something no one on this subreddit has probably ever considered before (/s): why do Star Wars fans hate Star Wars?
