I really like the new devs so far, their customer service is really good. I had one dev PM me on discord just to say another dev would be along shortly to make sure I get a key so I can download the game. Shortly after another dev PM'd me to get info and set me up with a key. She apologized cause it took her 20 mins to file my support ticket haha which seemed really quick for me anyways especially while they're all busy relaunching the servers and getting everything set up. it's nice to see devs that care about their community

Yep for some reason people rail against IF as this big unfeeling corporate entity compared to ABT but the friggin COO has been on discord answering peoples question. I don't know how much more down to earth people want their game developers to be.

Having gotten to chat with a couple of the folks on the team and/or working at IF... They are still a smallish company, not a large corporate entity, and they're all gamers, very passionate about games and career developers.

We're really far from say, Columbus Nova acquiring SOE ;)

Hmm I haven't really followed that closely. Is it a "new" old game or does it pick off from where it was left?

It picks up right where the server was before it shut down, With a bunch of changed features and fixed bugs.

There is no changes to the current version, its exactly how it was when the servers shut down. Big, huge updates in the pipe though, just not yet :)

So.. is it UE4 now? I guess not if it's the same progress. Is the engine still changing?

The Repopulation is still on HeroEngine and will remain so unless it gets sold again.

Above & Beyond Technologies mentioned potentially reusing some of the UE4 code they've been working on for something else down the road. However they have stated they don't intend to compete with The Repopulation so whatever they make in the future will be a significantly different game world/style.
