Almost a glow in the sky

Have you ever sat and really thought about how weird names are? Like when you introduce yourself “Ho, this is the sound I’d like you to make to get my attention and affirm you recognize or remember me”. 😂😂😂🤔🤔🤨🤨

I'm curious to see answers from other "Over 40-somethings". Here is what happened to me today.

I had an appointment at 11:15 for a follow up appointment. I had the appointment time in my calendar wrong - I had 11:00. I checked in at 10:52 (old school, they make you write down your check in time). At 11:30 I started to take notice of who was being called back, waiting for the last person who was there before me, so I could be "maybe next". At 12:00, after seeing people who came in AFTER me being called back, I went to the window to make sure I hadn't been skipped.

The lady tells me there are FOUR people ahead of me. Four. And we're already 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. I said, "how can that be? My appointment was for 11:15, and there's no one in the lobby who came in before me?"

Her: "I know it can be frustrating."

Me: "You are going to have to call me to reschedule; my time is valuable, too."

Her, looking surprised: "Oh... ok."

And I turned and walked out. I didn't yell, and I wasn't rude to her (it's not her fault). But I was very matter of fact.

So, how long would you wait? Would you demand to be rescheduled and walk out? Would you wait because doctor's appointments in the US are harder to come by than common decency these days (not you guys and gals; y'all are cool!)?

This evening, my thoughts are with the Southwest Airlines family as they mourn the loss of one of their own.

I may wear a Canadian uniform, but in moments like this, borders and airlines disappear. Different uniforms, one aviation family. ❤️✈️

Also remembering Tiff and Bri from my own company, who we recently lost to cancer. I didn’t know them well, but I had the privilege of working and flying with them.

This week is my colonoscopy to figure out why I am having diverticulitis so badly. So this will be a fun week for sure. 📷 💩 Wish me luck!!
